  • This weekend we tried hard to have the perfect roadtrip in the Tottori prefecture... Then it rained for two days, the snow got in the way, and our hotel onsen was closed... 😥
We made the best of it and still got to see the Tottori sand dunes and the Uradome Coast. We tried one of a kind mochi shabu at Machiya Seisuian and found ourselves at Encho-en Chinese Gardens.
The trip didn't go as planned but we still had a great time and we would definitely recommend the Tottori prefecture!

It’s a pity you couldn’t go where you wanted but the vlog was good regardless. I am enjoying seeing Japan through your eyes❤️

Hi guys, I have just come across your site and enjoyed it very much. I’m a Tokyo native and have been living in the US for the last 39 years. I liked you made the best out of the unexpected situation with your positive spirit. Thanks for introducing the gems off the beaten path in Japan. Now that Japan opened up, I plan to visit there more often and add these places to my bucket list.
Keep up the good work and keep enjoying Japan,
    Shin from Colorado

If you like mochi, go buy the hard mochi bricks. Satoh's Kuramochi is a brand, but I'm sure there are plenty others in Japan. If you don't know what I'm talking about, Google the brand so you can see what they look like. Put them in a toaster oven until it puffs up and turns golden brown on top and even a little burnt. Pour soy sauce on it and wrap it in nori seaweed.

What kind of ‘yota was that? Looks like a sweet whip. Also, I need to know what that bumper sticker said.

Have to be honest I can’t remember.. but you would love the cars around here, so small and sporty. And you’d love driving all the narrow winding roads here too. Japan is a car lovers dream.
The bumper sticker was a “No War” Ukrainian flag sticker 🇺🇦

What kind of drone do you use for your videos?
Sorry about the hiking gone wrong :( Sometimes things happen for a reason! The mochi shabu looked delicious! I've never thought of going to Tottori... Maybe in the future.

We use the DJI Mavic Mini 2, it weighs less then a pound so it's very easy to carry for traveling! And yes Tottori would give you a totally different feeling Japan then other more popular prefectures, we really liked it! Thanks 😁
