This TV is pretty good for the price. I was an integrator for almost 15 years. Clients get too caught up with how TVs look side by side. I've designed systems with a $20,000 TVs and cheap tvs. How I look at TVs is there's OLED, LED and Mini LED. Direct Lit, full Array and self illuminating pixels. None of these TVs last long anymore. A budget TV designed with good Audio and control will be better experience than a expensive TV with a cheap soundbar. Save on the TV and put that money somewhere else into the system.
Once again you have convinced me. I just bought this U6K to put in my Man Cave. It compliments the U8H we have in the Living Room. Will make for an easy transition from one to the other. Thanks as always Steve! Happy Holidays.
Got this for my mom for as a Christmas gift set it up for my liking. Get a call 15 minutes later from my mom the TV was just too damn bright. She said she's never seen a TV brighter than the sun before. I think that U6 hits it out of the park For its price point

@@efezeybel7698 It’s great. It’s in my living room mainly for watching movies and sports. I occasionally game on it because it’s limited to 4K/60 but I don’t mind the lower refresh rate now. My LG tv in my bedroom supports 4K/120 but it’s a smaller tv and I found myself using the Hisense more lol I use my 4K Apple TV, Series X and PS5 with a 5.1.2 Denon AVR. No issues. I don’t use Passthrough so all my HDMI’s are plugged directly into the tv and it works smoothly when switching between sources.
I’ve been very curious about hisense TVs recently as theyre SO cheap. I know its a cheap chinese brand, but they seem to have all the features included, even on their cheapest models!! Very impressive! This video also helped me make up my mind!
You are correct. The U6K and the U8H are the same price now - at least for the 55" and 65" models. The U8H uses a VA panel while the U6K uses an IPS panel. I prefer the IPS panel, because of the vastly superior viewing angles. The U8H claims to have specifications that are far "Brighter."
Used your link and bought one thanks for the review can't wait to play my xbox s/x on this I been without a TV for 2 weeks now. As my TCL 55" black screened on my and the light panel inside burnt out first TV I ever had go out on me in my life no more TCL for me hopefully this one is better.
I think your channel is great. I just bought this tv and getting it ready to set up. I had a Sony that was one month past the warranty and started to act up. Try everything to get it to work right but same results. Done with Sony tv's.
can’t decide if the $130 difference between the U6K and U7K is worth it. i mostly watch sports and movies, not a big gamer. the sound system upgrade is a big draw but i also have a receiver and speakers.
One thing I'd like to see is what it's like to actually use these TV's. Most reviewers don't spend much time on that, if not flat out skip right over it. I'm in the market to buy a new TV for my 80 year old mother and she has issues with anything that requires switching inputs (which is why I'm getting her a new TV in the first place). She also still uses spectrum for cable and DVR and is not interested in a streaming option, nor would her bandwidth support it since she's on a crappy 10meg spectrum plan. So I'm trying to find something that's not going to require her to use two remotes, but I have a feeling that's going to be a pipe dream.
Yea the "up to 240hz" is marketing BS. It's basically frame smoothing where they fill in the "skip" between frames. It's not actually 240hz and they really need to stop using that as a selling point. It really doesn't do that much to change the actual picture quality.
Looks better than the u6h for sure. Wonder if the pricing is just suggested retail and they'll have a lil bit cheaper once actually for sale. I have the U8H and this does look similar minus the brightness.
The loss of a 120hz panel and the lesser local dimming (from what I can see) definitely makes the U8H a steal right now. $800 for this or $950 for a U8H.
Hi Steve, please I am looking to buy either of this panel, the 55-inch, or the LG counterpart. Which would you suggest i get? Hisense 55 Inch U6K Series Quantum ULED™ 4K Smart TV or LG 55 Inch UR73 Series UHD 4K Smart TV
Thank you. I bought a 65U6K TV in Iran. I thought the panel would be VA, but it wasn't, and I was upset. That's why I asked this question. Now, how do I know if the panel is IPS or ADS? And the next question is, do I have to activate local dimming myself?
I have TCL 50P635 for a not a full year now but I found a deal on this Hisense 55U6K but with Vidaa OS and I'm thinking if it's worth to upgrade to miniLED. I can get it for about 400 bucks. But as I said, I don't have my TCL for a full year.
Great channel. Avid watcher of 4k TV reviews. As our Sony tvs are 10 & 12 yr old its so confusing to sift thru whats relevant. As a casual gamer i am puzzled about the upscaling that occurs and now you warn about the streaming content 🙄 Thanks for reviewing 🐈👍
Think about upscaling as a sharpening tool, but really if you took a thumbnail size picture and stretched it on a larger screen it will be blurry and will never be as sharp as a picture made for the larger screen.
I live in Cyprus and unfortunately I cannot get hold of the U7K. I will be mostly using a TV for my PS5 and heard the U7K is perfect for it. So I have an option of the U6k or the Samsung QE65Q70C. Would you be able to recommend or help me decide?.
Thx for a clear and informative review. Especially mentioning viewing angles, which is important. In the store there's no chance to try the remote. Some software, finding the tv guide, what's displayed on screen with free to air tv, etc. is far superior to others. The U7G I tried for example, would show the next 2 programs without me needing to search. Also when turning it off, they had the nice "closing curtains" effect which was nice. The TCL I have now is not good by comparison. Your review is great😁🙋
Is the brightness on the U6K really that much noticeably less than on the U7k? 600 nits vs 1000 nits. Having trouble deciding between the two if its worth the extra money or not.
thanks for the video! i’ve decided to go with this model, but after reading some reviews they claim the tv at 65” is wobbly. did you experience any issues with the tv wobbling.
I ended up getting this because of your reviews and comparisons. It's great. The only thing I wish you would've mentioned is the poor ethernet port speed. I get like 40mbps max when I'm paying for 750mbps. A USB to ethernet adapter sorts it out tho
@@Pizzaguy975 right I just got the U6K for 600. U6N is probably slightly better, but overall only thing different is the silver controller I think. I’m waiting to see Steve’s video on the U6N.
Hey TechSteve. I know this is an older video and you probably no longer have this unit, but i was wondering if you have any recommendations for the red/magenta color settings. I've owned this TV for almost a year and have tried numerous different color settings from various recommendations. The color still seems off and i was curious if you had a recommendation. Thank you. ✌️
TV is greet for the price miniled, wide color gamut Qled, with local dimming under 400$ is great.. Only problem is competition is really really tight at this price point... If you can spend another 100$ and get on sale can get the much better U7k.
@frozanmahmoodi3394 I bought the LG oled A2. WAY worth it. Cheapest LG oled but boy is it great. Watched the new blade runner as soon as I got home and was very pleased.
So looks like the U6K is the same as U65K or I'm missing something? I only have seen the U65K at Costco and both seems to have the same ports and specs.
Steve, I am a new subscriber and I'd like to ask a question: Am I better off getting this set or the Amazon fire TV 65 q LED set? I am definitely in the Amazon universe, but I want the best picture quality for my buck? Is this a better set if I add a fire stick 4K to it, or am I better off with the new QLED design around the same price range? Thanks 👍
I'm not a pro but I know a thing or 2 about these TV's. The Amazon fire QLED has about 96 dimming zones, which is not bad, but it is not mini-LED. This means it will not be as HDR as this Hisense U6K. If they are the same price, I'd pick the U6K and buy a firestick if you hate Google TV.
@@LuKiSCraft Thanks for your contribution. Although a little late, I still appreciate the effort! I actually went and bought the Omni series from Amazon! I am very happy with it, because it's the most technologically advanced Amazon fire series TV they've ever made! It fits my needs perfectly in the Amazon universe ❣️
Which Tv would you recommend more. The hisense u6k, samsung cu7000, tcl series 4, or tcl q6? I am in the market of a tv within the price range of these. Having a hard time deciding. Your reviews are great!
I'm in the exact same boat. I'm going with the Hisense u6k because I've never had a mini led TV before. It's $350 at best buy as of today. I hope I'm going with the right choice 🫣 I've never had a Hisense tv before.
@devinsoto. I decided on a 65" tcl q6. I had a budget of $600 including getting a wall mount. I was really interested in the u6k but it would have been just over the budget. I think the room could handle a 75" TV but settled on a 65". Good and pick it up on Tuesday
@@TechSteve First of all, thank you for answering me, I didn't think you would. Second, what would that good source be? I didn't understand that? I only watch streaming, Netflix, hbo max, prime video,...
You’re welcome, just remember that your source is everything far as picture performance, this iptv, cable box’s, old signal will not perform like streaming apps with good internet speeds
Hi Steve. I really like and appreciate your videos. You got me leaning towards the 65U7K. I have a 43A6H in a guest bedroom that I really like. I can’t find any UxK’s anywhere. Have you gotten a online or in store availability date? Thanks! Vince
Ports ??? ... I would assume (daddy taught me to never assume) it does have io ports to get those signals in/out. What are they ? I will answer my own question: WiFi 5(802.11 ac)2.4/5G, BT 5.0, 4 x HDMI2.0 (HDMI eARC & CEC), Ethernet (RJ45), 2 ×USB 2.0, RF Antenna, Digital Audio Output, Earphone/Audio Output
I really appreciate this video Steve. I haven’t seen a review of the u68n 2024 model at all yet. It’s like $200 Canadian more, do you think it’s worth getting that one or just going with this 2023 model. I know you said it was mini LED in this video I wasn’t aware of that they only seem to market it as QLED. If they’re both mini, then I’m not sure what the difference would be.
Hi Steve, would you say this is still the best budget 4k tv for gaming available at the moment? I’m looking to buy a decent tv but don’t really want to spend too much. Any other suggestions are welcome too! Great video also!
@J-ev6tk also a great choice brother. The reason I recommend the hisense is because they usually come with a 4 year warranty yet brands like LG and Samsung come only with a 2 year warranty and its basically the exact same software but for 25% more. Not sure what the TCL comes with though
@@paulstrunkheide yeah I think tcl comes with a 2, maybe 3 year warranty. I was going to get a Hisense but apparently they aren’t made as well in the uk and have worse components, not 100% sure if that’s true though
are we are going to get screw once again by Hisense in Europe ( same model name, same SKU, but much lower specs ) or Hisense will maintain same model specs worldwide ?
@JoseOrtiz-pp1vm when they first announced the new models on their website, Hisense at first said the u6k, u7k, and u8k all were going to have the nextgen tuner, but then for some unexplained reason, that changed, some old articles still say this.
Rtings recently reviewed the 65" U6K and theirs was a VA panel. Viewing angles from the Rtings review and the segment in this vid don't seem to match. Wonder if some retailers are carrying an IPS variant.
Has anyone had issues with quality? I recently purchased this model on Veterans Day and unfortunately it has a huge yellow bar in the upper left quadrant that extends from the edge to the center. Gonna return it
This is easily the better choice. Not only is it cheaper, but it has better features too. Mini LED, Dolby vision(best version of hdr), Dolby atmos(great sound), etc. The only thing you need is to buy an Ethernet to USB adapter because the built-in Ethernet is pretty slow.
No, in Canada it is the U68KM that has mini led. The u68k or u68kr are like the 2023 version of the u68h without the mini led, watch out for this when buying.
Nope, it is visible on the actual display. The U6K performs worse than the previous U6 models in terms of local dimming performance even though there are a lot more zones. Check out the Local Dimming test from Rtings. I also have a U6GR and the U6K looks so much worse because the zones never turn completely off. A completely black screen still shows significant amount of light with LD on high. I have returned it. I can't believe it received such high ratings with such an obvious flaw. The U7K and U8K do not have this issue.
@@TechSteve only issue I have is the build quality of the 7000 vs 8000. IMO I believe the 7000 has a more sturdy build quality. I believe that the very thin build of the 8000 is to flimsy and skinny? What are your thoughts? Thanks

Thanks for all the great work. I was wondering if you noticed any screen bleeding signs on this model?
If any not much at all
Would people recommend it for 499 for the 65 inch? It's on sale at best buy.
TV is greet for the price miniled, wide color gamut Qled, with local dimming under 400$ is great.. Only problem is competition is really really tight at this price point... If you can spend another 100$ and get on sale can get the much better U7k.
Comparison between the U6K and the U7K, big differences worth the upgrade?
7 has more dimming zones and 120Hz, subwoofer on the audio
Please help me decide between this tv and the LG uq75. I mainly use it for gaming.
@@tylerpressley1 im facing the same decision rn. Which one did you choose and which one would u recommend?
@frozanmahmoodi3394 I bought the LG oled A2. WAY worth it. Cheapest LG oled but boy is it great. Watched the new blade runner as soon as I got home and was very pleased.
I just ordered mine 75u6k hopefully its an upgrade to my u6g.
Thinking about getting the same one, do you like it?
So looks like the U6K is the same as U65K or I'm missing something? I only have seen the U65K at Costco and both seems to have the same ports and specs.
Is the processor different between the 6k and 7k?
How to change the aspect ratio of the screen? some youtube videos not showing full screen
Hi if you had to choose between the Hisense u6 mini led vs LG qned75 both in 65 inches which one would you get?
I haven't put them side by side. It's the only way to tell
Is there a way manage smoothness for the soap opera effect?
Excellent video. I have a Samsung 55ku6000 from 2017 or 2016, if I buy this Hisense will I notice a noticeable improvement?
Yes with a good 4k source
@@TechSteve First of all, thank you for answering me, I didn't think you would. Second, what would that good source be? I didn't understand that? I only watch streaming, Netflix, hbo max, prime video,...
Any of those
@@TechSteve Thank you for being so kind and courteous.
Thanks!

Hi, Steve. Which one do you recomend Samsung CU7100 or Hisense U6K?
What one did you end up buying?
@@JonathanGomez-ot4fq Samsung Cu7100
Do you think this TV is good as a Samsung I asked because my Samsung motherboard just went out only had it for one year
Hello does this tv have a web browser? Thanks
Is sports good to watch on this ?
Ports ???
Question is this TCL 75q650g model is any good ?
Hey can anyone tell me if this model is the same as the Australia model U6KAU. Specs seem to be alike but aus models run on vidaa not android
is this tv better than the tcl r646
how's the 24p judder?
I really appreciate this video Steve.
I haven’t seen a review of the u68n 2024 model at all yet. It’s like $200 Canadian more, do you think it’s worth getting that one or just going with this 2023 model. I know you said it was mini LED in this video I wasn’t aware of that they only seem to market it as QLED. If they’re both mini, then I’m not sure what the difference would be.
Not sure about that model, i haven’t seen it
I just picked up 55 inch for $399. I see 65 inch is $549. Is 10 inches worth extra $150?
Yes. Bigger is always better when it comes to TVs. I will be picking up a 75 inch U6K or U7K this week!
I went with a 75 inch U7k for 899 vs the U8K 899 for 65 inches and the U8k 1299 for 75 inches. For me the sweet spot was the 75 inch 75UK.
@@paulcarlin5181 Ended up ordering the 75U7k! Should be delivered Friday!
Hi Steve, would you say this is still the best budget 4k tv for gaming available at the moment? I’m looking to buy a decent tv but don’t really want to spend too much. Any other suggestions are welcome too! Great video also!
Go for the hisense A6k if you want value for your money
@@paulstrunkheide appreciate the reply but went with the tcl c805 (c755 or something in us) in the end
@@J-ev6tk awesome man best of luck, happy gaming
I have the Canadian version of the u68k model! Can anyone tell me what is the US model of this? Its the QLED version not the mini. Thanks
How is it performing? I am planning to buy U68k or u78k.
U68k definitely is cheaper.
are we are going to get screw once again by Hisense in Europe ( same model name, same SKU, but much lower specs ) or Hisense will maintain same model specs worldwide ?
I’ve heard this before
How does this compare to the Samsung CU7000?
www.displayspecifications.com/en
LOL
This tv stomps it.
im not familiar with the brand so is this a good brand to buy that will last
They usually come with a 4 year warranty, while brands like Samsung and LG only come with 2 year warranty's yet you'll pay much more
The feature I most like on the U6K models is, they have the NEXTGEN tuner.
sorry buddy u6k doesnt have nextgen tuner ur wanting the u7k and above.
@JoseOrtiz-pp1vm when they first announced the new models on their website, Hisense at first said the u6k, u7k, and u8k all were going to have the nextgen tuner, but then for some unexplained reason, that changed, some old articles still say this.
I can get this little wonder (55") in Portugal for about 480€. Nice!
Rtings recently reviewed the 65" U6K and theirs was a VA panel. Viewing angles from the Rtings review and the segment in this vid don't seem to match. Wonder if some retailers are carrying an IPS variant.
Nah only in sizes. I showed with the camera not sure if they have video footage or photos
@@TechSteve They provided a video showing the bad viewing angles too. Very strange.
Helpful video thanks for sharing
i recently bought this tv and noticed a few small things when watching certain shows on netflix with fast motion the screen looks blurry
how was it so far? do you recommend it?
Has anyone had issues with quality? I recently purchased this model on Veterans Day and unfortunately it has a huge yellow bar in the upper left quadrant that extends from the edge to the center. Gonna return it
How long did it take for that to happen?
Should I buy this or a cu7000
This is easily the better choice. Not only is it cheaper, but it has better features too. Mini LED, Dolby vision(best version of hdr), Dolby atmos(great sound), etc. The only thing you need is to buy an Ethernet to USB adapter because the built-in Ethernet is pretty slow.
Samsung q60c 55 inch picture aspect ratio configuration not available reason please from India
Would this review apply to the 55U68K model?
I would assume
No, in Canada it is the U68KM that has mini led. The u68k or u68kr are like the 2023 version of the u68h without the mini led, watch out for this when buying.
@mitchdeschambault9901 people have to check spec
damn, i just realized that I've just come to know the most underrated tech youtuber !
Thanks brother, i appreciate that. Spread the word
but what about the U6KR? amazing review from a new hisense fanboy
At 1440p, does this tv do 120fps on a ps5? Or just 1080?
60Hz
Hi Steve is the us model the same as the UK model
Sorry I wouldn’t know without pulling up websites and researching
So weird I’m on a website look at this tv and it’s advertising 120hz refresh rate. Glad I saw this video first.
Interesting, 120Hz starts out at the 7 series
@@TechSteveI’m confused, if it’s a 60hz tv, how can it do 120hz on 1080p (sorry tv noob here)
Got the U6KQ for 399€ after cashback, should be here in a couple of days. For that money I guess this should be a good deal!
do you recommend it
Just picked up the 65” on sale for under 600$ to go with my Xbox Series X. Your review helped a ton. Thank you!
Thinking of getting the 55in walmart has it for 398.00
Hay did you get 4k gameplay on your xbox x
What is up with seeing the little squares on the screen? Please tell me that is just the camera able to exaggerate the LEDs.
Another great video! Steve can you do a comparison with the U6K vs Samsung 7000CU?
It would be along time with everything I got going on
@@TechSteve Thank you
Look at the CU8000 instead, I compared them and it’s better
@@TechSteve True, thanks
@@TechSteve only issue I have is the build quality of the 7000 vs 8000. IMO I believe the 7000 has a more sturdy build quality. I believe that the very thin build of the 8000 is to flimsy and skinny? What are your thoughts? Thanks
