you should have come clean with your dad from the start. He either believes you or he doesn't. It probably wouldn't have taken years for your dad to find out what was going on if you were honest from the start. I think you took the coward way out and, in the process, made your life miserable because of it. You also strained your own relationship with your father because you kept quiet. It makes me wonder if you and your dad had a good relationship to begin with. If this was my family, I would have spoken up as soon as I heard about it.
