Q&A: What is the difference between the Cummins L9 and Paccar PX9?

    The differences with the dip stick and exaust are only due to the OEM manufacture. (Freightliner, peterbuilt) cooling plumbing is different as well. The Engine spec tag is on the same places as the ISL right on the top of the gear housing, you just can’t see it on the PX9 you gotta move the harness a little bit to read it

    How to add more hp to these engines I got a px9 with a 10 speed and it is under power

      after market turbo, monifold and programer will do the trick.

    you can’t put jakes on these engines, i find it crazy that some people have such small engines in such heavy duty trucks

      They have the option for a 3-stage Jake, just like the big ones. I have a 2021 Peterbilt 337 with it. Works amazing

      Fire house I work at has a truck with an L9 in it (paired to an allison 3000). It has a 3 stage engine brake that will keep 47,000lbs at 15mph down a 10% grade. Very impressive secondary braking system for sure!
