This was a time in singapore before all the PSA's of these crimes, this was back in 2009-2010...Before Iphone even became a popular item.

Culture Shock for me in my own country: I was in SG during 2020 -- I cannot believe just how many times I saw the sirens blaring ambulance stuck behind cars that refused to give way. Now back in the USA, when drivers can hear ambulance (also fire trucks and police cars) approaching, every driver will move to the side to clear the middle lane.
You better remain in your USA forever.

Same, those would be my exact words/description: cultural shock.
Then, back in North America, the "ambulance-dumb" blockage thing has gotten so bad, that it became a notice alert on radios, internet, news clips etc. Of making clear to new comers, how to react when they see sirens.
In different languages, it directed/reminded drivers to PULL ASIDE SAFELY when they hear or see sirens.
"NO NOT JUST STOP IN MIDDLE OF THE ROAD" 🤦🏻♀️
You can even see videos here on TH-cam, of cars just freezing... literally stopped in middle of road, blocking Ambulances who were on their way to save lives.
A few cars did the exact same thing instead of properly pulling aside, which ended up blocking the entire road, in opposite direction too! The ambulance couldn't get anywhere! It's insane!
