it is not effectively solve my issue... original file 134MB, save as to dxf become 533MB, open dxf with audit+purge then save as to dwg 2007 it becomes to 110MB... it does'nt really reduce too much in my case.any idea please ?

hello, I saw video and applied same procedure to rduce file size, but when I am trying to open dxf file, it shows error of invalid or incomplete dxt inout drawing discarded, now what shold I do to solve this problem

There is some error in the original file you saved from.
Sorry for the delay. Can you please send me the DWG file so that I will do it for you and check what is the problem. and let you know about the problem.

my file size is 51 mb and refuses to change upon any method. all it contains is one electrical layout

i have file of dxf to link it into cnc machine , but the file is bigger and if it will be compressed then will be accepted by the programme . please let me know the command to reduce the size of Dxf file .

Yes if compiled with autocad with no errors then it will surely work.
But if images are attached as ole object then it can cause errors.

but there is no ole object , just I want to reduce the DXF file size which is 207 MB presently.

lisp requires programming and appload skills.
and also this features are not available on the LT versions which is widely used in industries.
the last thing you need to know is, the only way to reduce file size is by remooving contents from drawings database.
purge, audit and overkill can do these for you.
and also if you will use polyline instead of line in your drawing then it aslo results a big difference.
you can use polyline edit (PE) tool to convert and join the lines to polyline. but be careful while using PE and overkill tool because it can result some changes you are unaware of.

no sir actually I am working for Autocad LT version and that doesn't have autolisp. But there are purge lisp available free on autodesk site. It worked for me. If you want then I will send you the link of one i used in past.
