Suggestion. Fry your veg off first, putting a lid on for a few minutes to create more heat and steam. Take off the lid, add tomatoes, cook for another 5 minutes. Put tthe veg into a bowl. Coat the pan again, add the eggs and cook on a moderate heat, stirring occasionally. Add your veg, onto one half of the omelette. Add fresh basil or parsley. Fold the plain egg half over the veg, press down gently. Turn onto your plate. 😊
I think you should’ve cooked the onions tomatoes etc off more before adding the eggs… they would have cooked down more once they have given off their water content and then you could have made it into a proper shaped omelette Only for appearance though - if you enjoyed it then that’s fine for you ….

Tbh I thought your other videos were pretty average like many of the food reviewers on youtube, eat the usual breakfasts, steaks, pie, fish &chips etc. But now there are really interesting because your doing this for your own benefit and the meals you are making are simple, cheap but most importantly healthy. When you go to Thailand you may not put that much weight back on as their food is pretty healthy and fresh too, unless you get western food lol. Thank you so much for sharing with us and I look forward to your next video.

Its like a frittata .id put aplate ovet the top of the fry pan and flip it over to cook the other side or i a pan like tours finish under the grill.

I watched your four-egg omelette video-congrats on keeping it simple and healthy! I did wonder how it tasted without seasoning. I also love a good four-egg omelette and wanted to share a suggestion: try mixing 100g of cottage cheese into the eggs. It adds protein and creaminess without a strong flavor. I usually add a bit of salt, chili flakes, and veggies like mushrooms and peppers for extra flavor and fullness. Feta cheese or sardines can be great additions too.
These are just ideas that work for me, but I’m loving your approach! I also enjoyed your live stream with your friend-would love to see more of those as you get more comfortable with them.

Cottage cheese has among the lowest salt content among cheeses, but it's still a lot (0.55 grams per 100 grams). A 3-minute rinse of tuna and cottage cheese resulted in sodium reductions of 80% and 63%, respectively, with no significant effect on iron content. Calcium was reduced by approximately 50%.

Salt is not poison. Especially unprocessed Celtic sea salt. It's medicinal that stuff.
Yes we do need salt in moderation. And it enhances food flavours.😀👍
Cook the ingredients beforehand so they shrink and cook. Then do the omelette and before flipping add the ingredients. What have you created?
Too pricey for me DJ . That wipe of Olive Oil was £4 quids worth at least ....without the eggs

that looked good, as you say, it turned out to be scrambled eggs! i would have made the omlette first then added the veg, you are doing well , keep it up, lose as much as you can before the holls!!!
Darren a great dish & can either be scrambled or an omelette ( I normally would put whipped eggs in pan after lightly sautéing the onions peppers etc then add the veg to your pan no need to stir & turn over for omelette affect option) but each has their own method

Quite similar to street food in India, except of course they used ghee and tons of spices.
That looked gorgeous i ordered the chopper like yours looks easy to use better than large chopper
A pinch of Celtic or Himalayan sea salt would make it taste better. That kind of salt isn't unhealthy, plus a low salt/ low fat diet might cause other problems. Avocados, extra virgin olive oil, and unrefined coconut oil are good choices of healthy fats.

Healthy and pretty nice, by the looks. Your additives contribute flavour and don't seem harmful at all. I still love the foods you eat in the intro to your shows, do you think you can eat such fare now and again as a treat? Something to look forward to in my opinion. And it doesn't seem to be what I'd consider bad food, either, eg not fatty takeaways.
The problem with eating like this is as soon as you stop your put it all back on. But I wish you luck.

Well done. You can visibly see the changes. I have been having a 2 egg omelette, with a little cheese, plus diced tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and olives 6 days out of 7 for the last 4 years and my health is optimal. I weight between 75kg and 80kg and that's includes my indulgance on a Saturday. Eating healthy and tasty food isn't difficult, it's just that most people are too set in their ways and/or lazy to change habits. But once you see the changes, and people are conplimenting you, you want to carry it on. It gives you motivation, it makes you happy, you can look in the mirror and feel proud, and you get more tail that you can handle.

That's a lot of eggs, get your cholesterol checked. I love eggs and used to eat six or eight a week. Then I had my cholesterol checked and it was sky high. So now I'm on statins and don't eat dairy or red meat. Plenty of dark veggies, turkey, oily fish, nuts, pulses( especially in soups) and fruit. Apples are good( an apple a day keeps the doctor away) lol. Oh aye, and cut down on booze! It's working for me, I'm maybe not losing a lot of weight but my heart is healthier. I also walk the dog about four miles a day. 😀👍
@@brendamorgan just got my results back. My total cholesterol read 2.59 mmol/L. The doc said it's very, very good, and anything below 5 mmol/L is good.

P.S. that looked really good! I was thinking, some tobasco type hot sauce would be good. I looked it up and there’s salt in it ☹️ That led me to thinking, I use to take a shot of apple cider vinegar (with the mother in it) and dilute with some water (or straight up with a chaser of water). Very good for you, in so many ways. Look it up, when you have time… just a thought. 😊

Great idea. I'd sling some of that Cholula original hot sauce on too as it's zero sugar and carbs but very tasty.

I think it would be better adjusting the quantities there and frying the veg until the water has evaporated. Half the veg and make with 3 eggs might keep it as an omelette. All trial and error. Keep up the healthy regime DJ

Have you ever thought of using Saxa Low salt or salt substitute. I’m a salt fiend and it works for me. They replace some or all the sodium with potassium.
Just a thought.
I live in SE Asia and you will love Thailand but the food is certainly not low fat but bloody yummy

If you let the egg set a bit longer and then stick the pan under the grill to cook on top it would look like an omlette. It would still taste the same though.
Keep it up DJ! You do look a lot healthier! I actually think your cooking videos and this kinda content is really good. As much as I enjoy the fry ups and curries, these are just as good to watch. Top man, that weight will fall off if you carry on like this

I wouldn't resign yourself to putting on a few pounds when you go away. Like Japan, Thai cuisine is some of the healthiest food you will ever eat. Make the right choices and you will enjoy your trip more and come home happier and healthier.

Yes I don't know 4 whole eggs are considered 'no fat' either haha. No salt, sugar or fat turns into egg omelettes, which turns into meat and eggs, which turns into fry ups and before you know it normal service has resumed. It's a tale as old as time.

Looks great! I think i would make this more balances, by using just 2 eggs, adding a 1/4 or 1/3 an avo for healthy fats, on a slice of wholegrain toast for carbs. I find combining protien, fat and carbs keeps me fuller longer.

What ho Darren, a vibrant bowl of natural goodness. Looked bloomin' fantastic. I, once the egg mixture was added to the pan, give it a quick stir and then into the oven to finish cooking and set. Served sliced, any leftovers (? 😂) lunchtime meal for the next day. Keep the faith brother and fly the flag, healthy is better for you. Allan&Family
