- We decided to challenge our language learning skills by speaking nothing but Spanish for an entire day. To make it even more difficult, we tried to immerse ourselves by ordering food at a Mexican restaurant, going to a bakery, talking to native speakers, and more!

Greetings from Mexico! The name of the bread is "Concha". We say "Pan de dulce" the same as bread or pastry. We use "Pastel" to refer to a Cake. Your Spanish is really good. Congratulations!
Those things are SO freakin' delicious (cochas). I only had two while I was there but I would have bought about 20 if I'd known how good they were going to be.

This is a very interesting video, I believe I have never seen a video like this where a couple challenge themselves to speak a non-native language for 24hrs. Idk if you know, but even by hearing you two speak Spanish, it makes you look more intelligent even if it's not completely perfect(well, she has a better pronunciation), but I'm able to understand everything clearly. Great job!

Kate's Spanish actually sounds quite authentic... her pronunciation is very clear and just based on hearing her say a few words, one would think she's a native Spanish speaker (at the end when they switched back to English, I was almost caught off guard like "Oh right, she does speak English too!").
The only thing missing would be having a more expansive vocabulary to go just beyond the "basics"... but that comes with a lot of practice and reading.
Thank you!! We definitely want to get to a point where we sound like native speakers, so that’s a great compliment. And yeah, vocabulary is tricky because it’s something we have to just sit down and practice. We’ll get there!

Pues hablan muy bien, mi idioma natal es el español y llevo dos meses aprendiendo inglés por mi cuenta y pues hablan bien, lo bueno de nosotros los latinos es que no nos interesa mucho ni nos fijamos si cometen errores, para aprender es necesario make mistakes

Ese pan dulce es muy famoso en México, ellos le llaman “concha” porque se parece a una concha marina( seashell ), los fabrican para el “día de muertos” y lo dejan como una ofrenda para sus seres queridos que han fallecido. Me encantó su video!

Saludos desde México, es correcto, el pan se llama "concha". Se puede comprar cualquier día del año. Y no la usamos para día de muertos, ese es otro tipo de pan.

Fun story. Those "Nito" buns were called "Negritos" about 10 years ago, and they had a cartoon of a black kid in the package... Obviously they changed it, but it lasted like that for ages

How did u guys learn Spanish
I learned mostly through taking classes in school (middle school, high school, and college) and Nate learned mostly through TH-cam, books, Duolingo, and other media! We both love watching Spanish TH-cam and TV to learn as well as talking to each other for some speaking practice
