Was shocked to see how much play remained with the brake cylinder stopper!
Beatrush is deffinately a reputable brand but the design and mounting location could be vastly improved.

Thank you so much! I've been waiting for this video. Now I'm convinced of the flex in the firewall. Didn't think it would deform that much.

    thank you...much needed video!
i'm still indifferent about installing a BMC...i still haven't yet and in daily driving as you mentioned, it might not make a huge difference. i guess i'll continue to spend my money elsewhere for my fr-s. haha.

Still a large amount even with the brace in, wow.
Are you going to look at any further reinforcement of the brace itself, maybe where it bolts to the strut tower, to reduce the flex further?

hey man your videos have been the most useful information I have found on brz mods I feel like I've looked at a thousand different kits mods and upgrades for forced induction... would you still recommend the kit on your brz because from what I've seen it looks like one of the better ones around
    cheers

I mean the movement is minimal to begin with, you want the chassis to flex a little bit stiffer doesn't always mean better

That's a poorly designed, and almost totally ineffective brace. All it does is add the flex of the shock tower metal to the flex of the firewall metal. The way the Cusco Brake Brace works is by using leverage, but with all three ends of the levers secured, and sufficiently spaced to ensure a rock solid brake pedal.

Yep agreed. The one I reviewed is niche follow up video was far better.

Pretty indifferent to that installation sure it must have felt different but if one going to spend money why not make a proper job of it ? That stopper did not looked pretty insubstantial.

Just goes to show, its all in your mind, a placebo.

What rubbish. Your ABS will kick in before your firewall flexes. You don't slam your brakes on that hard.

    • @boostedmedia
      @boostedmedia  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

ABS kicking in also causes the firewall to flex in some cars. This is about pedal feel, and when the system is pressurised and booster running, there is a descent able difference in pedal feel when the stopper is installed.
It’s hard to show in a video without measuring maximum deflection. But yes the abs would kick in if you slammed your foot down like that.

so no its crap just like most bs mods

Not exactly. depends on the design. The one I tested in my follow-up video was actually really good.
This one did make a difference, although not nearly as much as people may think.
