It would require an entirely different hunter deck to any of the hunter decks currently being run, also "Call for help", is very much like farsight except it only works well with creatures that cost 4 or more. I guess at a stretch using a 3 mana cost beast would be acceptable...I suppose. Yeah you get card draw at the worst. With most of the beasts currently in the game it's basically Savannah Highmane or bust. I don't think it'll be as good as all that. And who wants to be running some boring beast synergy when there's mechs coming?

And if you get the lion on turn 3... that is pretty much gg. And if you don't draw a beast... then it is simply a 2 mana -> draw a card wich would be... decent enough to make you try it in your deck. I just find the mere idea that you can get 10 / 9 of stats out of a 2 mana card... kind of disgusting, and I thought that this would be a good place to talk about it, since Trump is now on his way to becoming the next big hunter. :p

I actually created a hunter deck called Beast Wars. It is a gimic control deck that focuses on beast synergy while controlling the board and getting value. It is rather fun. Oh and there's a snake in my boot! ... Everyone was saying something funny with snakes so I felt I had to as well. DO NOT JUDGE ME!

It's basically a control deck with fun gimmicks like steamwheedle, enhance-o, foe reaper, one copy of each secret and KJ synergy with UTH and the snake trap. Also threw in one EB and GB. It's a lot of fun, even though I don't play hunter that much.
I get the feeling from watching this and Trump's other huntard games that he's not cut out for this playstyle. 3/5 of these games were losses, and the win versus the handlock was mostly just dumb luck. When people throw around these deck win-loss stats, do/can they take into account at what ranks it wins most at?
Trump is the least aggressive player I've ever seen. This type of playstyle just doesn't suit him, because he very rarely goes into face mode which is what hunter needs to do to win. Past turn 5, you have very little in the way of power plays. You can't afford to spend the entire game controlling the board, because you'll just run out of steam as he ends up doing here.
Zamidge I think the rank to skill level difference is MASSIVE. I can steamroll even bad matchups from rank 15 to about rank 10, at rank 10 I actually have to think about what i'm doing but tend to win 3/5 or 4/5 (went 12-2 yesterday from rank 11). At rank 5 you get to face really good players and thats where i tend to be around 55% or 60% win rate. At rank 3 and onwards it gets even harder. Only gotten to rank 2 so cant tell on rank 1 and further tho.
I don't have Snake Traps right now, so I play 2 freezing and 1 explosive trap. and I have a pretty good winrate. Explostive trap can sometimes completely flip the game, for example- in 19:35 if your snake trap was explosive, you could've killed two important minions. I know, it's just speculative, but it seems that Hunters don't run boomtrap nowadays, which is a pity sometimes.
trump really needs to get into his head that hunter NEEDS to abuse his hero power more often. this hunter has like no card draw engine and therefore you can't always aim to get the most mana efficiency unless you have highmanes to make the most of it. his perception of "value" makes me feel like hunter isn't his type of class. the only games he seems to win are ones where his matchup is extremely favored in or in games where he gets the cancer starts.
trump, when you were playing against the druid (first game in video), you were talking about the dangers of having already played both your silences, but you got one of the owls from webspinner. i can't remember whether you run one or two owls, but if you run two, then obviously that comment was a mistake.
It's so sad. When I try to play control/value I struggle. Last night I switched to hunter and just kept hitting the face, no matter what, and ended up winning all my games :-(

the shaman seems very strong against all classes. Lightning storm/rockbiter/earthshock/lightning bolt obliterates aggro, hex and earthshock crushes handlock and doomhammer/totems wrecks warrior control.
Trump doesn't go for enough face with the Hunter. The deck loses to AoE, it's just part of the construction. The point is to zerg and overwhelm while you can when you can because there's no late game.
I don't really like the decklist Trump is running here (and I suppose other Hunters as well). For instance: Having one explosive trap is really helpful versus Zoo and other Hunters. Sure in some matches it's dead, but so is second snake trap potentially. At least in the worst case scenario explosive trap deals two damage to face. I don't really like Leper Gnome. The card is only nice if it buffs an Undertaker as you'd rather be dropping an Undertaker on turn 1. Having a higher chance of playing something turn 1 is great, but the one drops get in the way later on, which is why I think if you run 2 Leper Gnome, then 2 Tracking is a must. Tracking helps you dump those now bad 1 drops and instead find Savannah Highmane quicker. 2 Tracking is good anyways. I'm not a fan of the 1-1 Knife Juggler UTH line. Sure I've gotten trashed by that combo before, but that was in arena. The 5 mana combo often just sucks in constructed because not many decks flood you with minions, only like Zoo and other Hunters, and while those guys are everywhere, I don't like running a 2 card combo just for them (one explosive trap is better). Besides, you'll almost never draw the combo pieces together, especially without any Trackings. I also don't like Sludge Belcher in Hunter. It's just not a big enough threat for the 5 mana. Other decks run Sludge Belcher to defend against Hunters, so why should Hunters run it? If I had to have a 5 drop, I'd rather have a Stranglethorn Tiger over it. I think the deck either should go full aggro with stuff like Bluegill Warrior, Wolfrider, Owl, King Mukla, Double Unleash, Hunter's Mark, and Timber Wolf, or should go much more control-y with Harvest Golem, Deadly Shot, Loot Hoarder, The Black Knight, and perhaps a Cult Master. It doesn't happen very often, but sometimes Cult Master draws three cards off of Snake Trap, and when that happens, you super win. It usually draws a card or two anyways since your early game is usually really fast. This sort of half and half decklist just doesn't seem as good to me.

arena packs are going to ONLY be GvG? wow. thats a mistake by blizzard imo. it will hurt the game overrall, new players will have to spend 100 gold on packs to get the core cards…. :/
There are cards from the core set in the GvG packs. I saw a statement from Ben Brode, I believe on Twitter, that said that in the GvG packs there will be cards from the usual Expert Packs mixed in, so I would assume that the packs will work something like "Each GvG pack is garunteed at least 2 GvG cards" Kind of like how currently you're guaranteed at least 1 rare. So new players could still get every card in the game just by playing arena.

This is a super slow Hunter deck. It is a more control oriented so it loses to Zoo and aggro Hunter decks. It should do alright against control decks but this sort of deck I feel actually does not do as well against Shaman than the aggro version.

Trump is just not a very good aggro player. I think Amaz and Reynad both do way better playing aggro decks then he does

I would love to see Vol'Jin become a Shaman legendary (or neutral?) at some point in the future. If Sylannas earned it, Vol'Jin sure did.

Shaman doesn't have any counters. But it also doesn't counter anyone. It's just simply the most balanced class.

I agree with the explosive traps, I have been running them and it has been working out great, I replaced freezing with them.
Its painful to see trump do board control with a rush hunter. Its rush for a reason :( plus explosive would be better than snakes in my opinion.

He plays Arena a lot more than he does Constructed. Plus, farming at Rank 18~20 is boring as hell to stream.
I think it shows how good a player is when he reaches Legendary rank many times without a golden hero.

lot of dumb plays in that first game. you wasted too many turns without hero powering and didn't abuse your bow with traps as efficiently as you could have.
