This is the only video I found that explained how to set up the new motor before installing. Since it looked nothing like the old one and didn't come with instructions we assumed we'd ordered the wrong part, but this video saved the day. Thank you!
Thanks, this helped me a lot. Broke some clips, but that is what I get for buying crap. The only thing that would have made this video better is how to test to make sure we are replacing the right thing.
I had to buy a replacement but it only has one ground wire. I’m so confused now. The video is exactly what I needed just don’t understand what I’m doing with the pasty’s a bit different. I ordered per the refrigerator model number. Thank you for the very detailed and easy to understand video.
If you ordered the evaporator motor it should have came with the other wires as well not just the ground wire. What is the model number of your refrigerator? Did you order this part through AppliancePartsPros.com?
@@appliancepartspros thank you so much for your response. It’s the wrong part…sigh. We had a professional diagnose it since further research shows it may be a leak. It’d cost more to fix it than it was really worth. I appreciate these videos as I try to educate myself, thank you so much.
Hi, the fan motor is spinning (checked with cover off and can hear it), but no air is getting into fridge. Fridge is room temp, vents in the fridge look open to me. Should I still replace the motor?
If the fan motor is coming on then it's working, so it wouldn't need to be replaced. You will need to check the damper to make sure it's opening properly.
I wish they didn't make the freezer shelving and rails so difficult to remove! The hardest part for me is situating my large, old, inflexible body on the floor trying to reach all the tabs and screws. I wish I was young, small, and flexible. Anyway, thank you for the helpful video.
@@appliancepartspros Thanks! I have the Whirlpool GB2FHDXWS06 (with bottom freezer). My freezer is colder than it should be and the refrigerator is almost room temperature. Is the most likely issue with the control board?
You will need to check the frost pattern on the evaporator coils. You should have a light, even layer of frost on the coils when the compressor is running. If there is nothing on the coils, or only frost on part of the coils, then that would indicate a sealed system issue and will require a licensed technician. If the coils look good you will need to test the temperature sensors for resistance. If the sensors are good then that would indicate a bad control board.
This looks like my Amana 2008 I can't find defrost timer Is it in the upper light assembly? If so how do l get that open l don't see an entrance past the light cover

What if the component you're trying to replace is completely Frozen over?
Great job, but this is not a dyi job. You better call a professional to do this.
Not everyone can do this repair on their own. If you are not able to do the repair yourself, then you will need to contact a technician.
