Thanks -- I bought the $180 control board and followed these instructions and it worked perfectly. One tip I would add to others with this issue -- try entering into programming mode with the existing circuit board before buying a new one. To do so, you push down the fridge light switches (there may be one or two, depending on the doors, you'll know you've got it when the lights go off) and hit the freezer down button three times -- tap, tap, tap. If your freezer/fridge numbers go to letters, let go of the light switches, hold down the freezer down button until you see 0 0, enter the the numbers on your serial number sticker where it says CODE (two digits, mine was 12) by pressing the freezer and fridge buttons (for me, freezer up once, fridge up twice for 12) and then hold the freezer down button until it flashes. Then just shut the fridge. This will take care of logical snafus. But if your control board has some burned out circuitry, you'll have to order the part.
Yes. Good idea. I tried this and the fridge worked fine for a couple days, then began to fail. This confirmed to me that the problem was a failing control board. Once replaced, the unit has been functioning properly for a week and a half so far.
This video works perfectly for this replacement. My fridge was only 4 years old when this control panel decided to go out. I had called a repair shop about fixing it. They wanted over 400.00 to come out and fix it. I was able to buy the control panel board on the Appliance Parts Pros site and was able to follow this video and it works perfectly. Saved me over 200.00 as the control board is 180.00 with shipping. But overall, highly recommend. Thank you Appliance Parts Pros for the video!
My first time trying to fix a fridge after days of frustration realizing my 2 yr fridge stopped working. Speedy delivery and very clear video to help with the replacement. It went flawlessly thanks to you. THANK YOU!!!
Pretty much flawless. The light cover slides straight back. You don’t need to pry the plastic tabs to free the control board. You have push straight in on them with flathead and gently pull down at same time. Perfect description of code setting. Thanks for the guide!!
Thank you for making this video-I ordered the board from your site, and installation went exactly as shown in the video. The refrigerator seems to be working fine now (The refrig side was stuck on "7" before, freezing stuff like vegetables.)
Yes, THANK YOU! This video is a lifesaver. I saved over $100 by doing it myself. (Yes, I realize that sounds like I value my life at around $100. I think I'm worth it...😉😄)
Thanks for the video & instructions. One suggestion is that instead of reaching into the fridge to get at the back tabs (which I found hard to do), you can simply use a flat head at the front to take the whole assembly including the lights down off the fridge and then disconnect the same connector (but thermoster can stay in place) and I find it's then easier to remove that part to access the board.
The control panel on the fridge went to dashes instead of numbers and would not run. I tried all the hard reset tricks with no luck. For under $30 I thought I would try to replace this circuit board assembly before paying a repairman a huge fee or worse, replacing the fridge. So far the new board has brought the unit back to life and it’s running as it should again!
Good day Sir ! I am changing the board on my WHIRLPOOL model WRF555SDFZ but there is no code on the label. I suppose I have to reprogramm it anyway, but how to do it if I don't have any code ? Would you help me with this subject. I am replacing the board tomorrow and all I will have is a dead refrigerator if I can't reprogramm it. Please help me as soon as you can, I really will appreciate it very much. Have a great day. Ramon Perera, Miami.
The control board WPW10503278 for AMANA has been replaced as instructed, but as programming, the code does not flash when the freezer down button is pressed. Any suggestions ?
Great video and everything was going great until it would not go into programming mode. I have tried over and over, but the freezer down button doesn't feel right, and it just won't give me any codes, just 2 dead displays. Now I am just waiting for all the stuff in the freezer to thaw and spoil. yea me!!!!
Ok, so after some head scratching, I pulled the circuit board back out and realized that I had installed the top board in backwards and the buttons that needed pushed to enter programming mode were facing inward instead of outward. I reinstalled after flipping the top board over. Works great now!
Had a 40 plus year old fridge. Still worked, but wanted upgrade. Bought new Whirlpool. Died in 2 years. Bought the board and watched this video.Saved hundreds and don't like people in my house anyways. Don't make 'em like they used to. We'll see how long this turd goes before the compressor dies.
Still working? Friend has a 10-15 year-old Amana that won’t defrost. I figure the $30 circuit board and Amazon next-day delivery are worth a shot. But it all reminds me that my KitchenAid fridge is 30 years old with repair costs totaling $100, for icemakers. Will the Amana last that long? We’ll see.

I replaced the board and the fridge started working right away. Does it still need to be programmed?

I know I'm just adding to the sentiment in the rest of the comments, but thank you so much for this video. Very helpful and money saving!
Thank you for this video! This saved me a couple hundred dollars vs having Whirlpool come to my home to do it for me!
You're welcome! Glad we could help you with your repair.

do you need to do this code if you're just transporting the fridge to another home. Not changing any parts???

Lots of defrost issues related to these. It’s effectively a legacy ADC at this point.
If there is anything we can help you with please let us know.
