I went to Oregon School for the Deaf during my middle school and high school years from 2012 to 2019. I graduated there. I took the bus from Tigard to Salem everyday on this kind of route.

      R. B. Kiernan I'm also thinking about moving to Salem soon. Have you made the move, and how do you like it?

I haven't yet made the move as I've ended up in New Mexico on an extended business trip -- which is one of more than a dozen trips I've made for business in a little over a year. I've been to Oregon, briefly, during this time, but my life right now involves having an address at a hotel until this assignment is over.

Here is a fact: when the road is really wet and you're driving fast on the highway it will look like your playing a racing game
    Edit: it's really fun

Ill probably be leaving shitty Los Angeles for Eugene Oregon. Is traffic in Oregon generally mild? I have cut so many people off in LA, and I have driven only 20 miles on a freeway because of the traffic here.

depends where you are....Eugene and other areas in that part traffic is ok but once you get near Portland traffic is shit....Portland is such an old place that our highways and bridges need to be upgraded....we definitely at some point are going to need another lane added on the highways. also our speed limits are gonna seem like snails to you....55/60 most areas of highway.... Portland is a hippy town lol so we'd rather spend our tax dollars on a new piece of art built downtown than take care of roads, highways, bridges, and of course the homeless....which you'll see a lot of. if you aren't traveling during rush hour (3-6PM) you'll be good traffic wise. Best of luck to you and your endeavors!!!!

Oregon drivers tend to "line up" at merges and turns. They get in a lane blocks and blocks ahead of whatever is happening. When a street goes from two lanes to one, no one merges in at the end. Also, they don't really pass often on two lane highways. In towns were there are good transit services (Eugene, Salem, Portland) that takes priority over getting more cars on the road.
