Yes,he plays Ravel and Debussy exactly the way I think their music was intended to sound, colors, melody and a very loose sense of time, even when he is playing something with a tempo.You're not supposed to be able to tap your foot to Ravel.
@@davidsheriff9274interesting take. I always thought of ravel as a much stricter classicist, as far as form goes. He has some very rhythmically obvious pieces, Alborada del gracioso for instance. Debussy was definitely the more spontaneous and subtle of the two. Both are equally colorful in their own ways, but I always felt Debussy takes a bit more imagination to listen to. Especially the preludes.
