@@PeterGargan Yeah I initially stated back in 2013 by uploading a school project I did. But I really got into things when I made my 2nd channel Xenosanctum which is basically dedicated to Xeno series content. I have more subs than you ATM but it looks like your on your way to be getting a healthy fan base, meanwhile mine has been kind of stuck round 100-200 for a while. Buts thats due to my lack of content.

Kuhazan i honestly hate that theyve done that, yes its a long game to get through to get to the epilogue but why would u buy the game in the first place, i feel like i HAVE to play the epilogue first since I already know the main game story cos i dont want to get spoiled
If you are reading this and have never experienced Xenoblade before you won't regret it. A lot of Xenoblade fans say that the game is underrated but overlooked is more accurate. Every time you hear someone talk about Xenoblade you hear nothing but good things so it's far from underrated but due to its late release date on the Wii and lack of accessibility on the 3ds not many people have experienced this masterpiece. When I heard it was coming to switch I was surprised and excited to relive one of the greatest stories ever told in video games and I hope that the definitive edition will bring many memories to players who have never experienced this story before. The game is truly a work of art and it deserves a larger audience. So If you haven't played the game and are interested in it you should not pass up the opportunity
not to mention it's first Wii release was only in Japan and Europe, so it was impossible to get in the states without paying a consoles worth of money to get it
I didn't played any xenoblade chronicles game in my live, but one day, my friend recomendes me the xenoblade chronicles 2, I freakin' love it, and I heard that the first is better, do you can even know how hyped I am for the XC definitive edition?
I wouldn't say it's better than XC2, just different... I really enjoyed both of those games. I liked the story of XC2 better, but that's just my opinion.
@@07Flash11MRC Honestly... I think Xenoblade 2 had the worst story out of all of them. Still good, just personally the worst. And I do believe Xenoblade 1 was better in gameplay. Honestly I was just very *very* disappointed with Xenoblade 2, coming from someone who played all games in the series. Hell, I like Xenoblade X more in all aspects, gameplay and story, and think Xenoblade 1 trumped them all in gameplay and story.
I’ve been a fan for over 4 years now thanks to Chuggaconroy. I haven’t played the game for myself but I’ve already pre purchased the game and am excited to play this game for the first time.
When I started Xenoblade Chronicles up for the first time, the second I heard those first three piano keys at the title screen, I knew I was in for the experience of a lifetime.
Chugga’s LP was AMAZING! I kinda wish I could forget it though so that I could experience the story originally for myself as I watched it because I had no way of playing it.
I'm in the same boat as you, except I had a Wii and could've bought it but wanted to know what I was getting myself into first. I still have yet to play it, but I've recently preordered DE now that I'm out of school and can afford the money and time I'll be putting into the game. I can't wait to finally play it for the first time since discovering this game several years ago!
Also, think of it this way: we'll all be experiencing it "for the first time" with the new graphics, remastered songs, new DLC content, and whatever other surprises Monolith Soft has hidden inside DE. :)

I put over 90 hours into Xenoblade 2, can’t wait to play the original, especially since the female characters look like they were designed to look like actually females instead of strippers
I never beat the game at times it took me out of the experience when i first played it because of the graphics, but once i started getting deep in the game it didn't matter how the graphics looked to me
@@garywood97 remasters only uses the same game and upgrades it to work on modern consoles. They're actually much closer to regular ports as they don't use different engines. Xenoblade DE has elements of the original game still in it such as some models only having minor upgrades but overall its using a different engine, most models and content. The engine part alone is enough to be considered a remake
In my attempt to resist grabbing my 3DS and replaying this masterpiece until it releases I have gotten 280 hours in Xenoblade Chronicles 2...I have nothing left to do now but wait.

The game had near critical acclaim all around and the only thing lacking was the story...which can be forgiven because for the Wii U alone (already a dying system), it was ahead of it's time and was clearly meant to be a test for a future project by Monolith on a much bigger scale (perhaps a sequel especially considering how radically different the story of the game was compared to the initial drafts.)
XCX is a failure on many points. Not only on the story but the poor combat system mostly with the skells, the inconsistencies of the lore that couldn't explain properly how you could find so many different races/species on a deserted planet when there is actually nothing remaining about old civilizations nor even villages other than your own crashed city and the cat race hidden in a mountain and the nonsensical Cauldros region... . Tons of the worst game mechanics ever : you had to wait for hours an item to drop from your probes because if you turned your console off, you received nothing eh... the relationship garbage system was so poorly developed so that they gave you a quest once you finished the game to rise it which killed its sole purpose. Same for the money, same for the resources. Oh god and the random stats on armors where you had to kill thousand times the same monster so you eventually be satisfied by your RNG stats if you are lucky. None of that happens in XC1. And XC1 was working on a Wii / 3DS and was far more interesting in every aspects. XCX "ahead of his time" just because the game had cool worldbuilding graphics and skell animations, too bad the rest was complete BS.
I hope they improve the AI of the characters you’re not controlling, because I can remember some characters that I had to control myself to make their spot on my team worthwhile.
I think cool will be when they allow us to change characters everytime, now you can only can select autoattack on other teammate when you doing chain attack or warn other party member
I never had the chance to play the game that started it all, since I never got the chance to buy it during the end cycle of the Wii. I've been playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and so far, it's an absolute joy to experience.
Jimmyr1998. I'm starting the playthrough on the Wii today (at 11, playing by chapter), hoping to finish before DE releases so I can jump right into the epilogue
It's a good game, but requires some strategy to beat it. I recommend playing by chapter and not longplay it to not get burned out or frustrated by progress

I grew up playing xenoblade, when I started playing it I didn't even spoke English and i Still loved the story, it wasn't until 2015 that I decided to finish the game and realised how good it was lmao
I own Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and beat it when it came out I have the DLC also but never finished it. I'll be picking up the original soon as it comes out and then playing through the second game again with the DLC after beating the original. This is going to be great
Played XC2 as my first ever switch game and is looking forward for this game now. Got to say I'm excited and looking forward for this game. All the youtuber gamers I've watched that have been talking about this game has nothing but positives about it. I hope to have one soon

2:20 BRUH. It took me 169 hours to beat the game, and I barely even scratched the surface of the side quests (if there are indeed over 400 side quests, as I've heard).
Have a weird relationship with this particular game. Got it on the 3ds and severely underestimated how long it was and burnt myself out too quickly without completing it. Didn't help that the 3ds version is literally the worst one to play. Bought it on the WiiU and decided to take it slow and enjoy it for worth its worth years later after beating Xenoblade 2, only for them to announce the definitive edition. Now, I've ordered the collectors edition and the digital edition for a game I already bought twice before....Here's hoping I actually finish it this time around lmao
Recommending chuggaa's let's play, eh ? I see you are a man of culture ! For real, I played the game back in 2014 for multiple reason (the hype of shulk in smash, the incredible music) and his LP was one of them, and I can say it changed me as a player. It made me realise that RPGs were actually not that complicated to grasp and got me into many other RPGs later on. It's an absolute must play, and I honestly cried when they announced the definitive edition, I recognized it right with the first note of the main theme played. I'll play it on may 29th and so should you !

Started with xenoblade chronicles 2 on launch did a blind buy never played any game in the series before and I loved it But I kept hearing people talk about this game and how good it was, after the Torna DLC I wanted to play more of this series then I saw the trailer for definitive edition now I'm excited as hell After this video I definitely can't wait to experience this game now!

Super excited for this. Never finished the game but I played the begining years ago on Wii and unfortunately I got spoiled on a certain character death but besides that I am going totally fresh into this and I cant wait.
I got this game when it came to the NEW 3ds and played through a bit of it, but I got quickly overwhelmed because it was the first open world RPG I tried. Having played through more games of this kind now I feel ready to try the remake as I did play long enough originally to grow attached to some of the characters and the world.
I'm really looking forward to playing this, since it comes out 2 days before my birthday. I've been wanting to play it, but never had the chance to and it's just gonna be a delight for my birthday gift.
Nicely done video. I've never played a Xenoblade game, despite owning XC 2 since late September which I've kept putting off playing for other stuff, but I've been eagerly looking forward to this release for the past few months having it on pre-order. I had been planning on playing XC 2 in the time left before this is released but being so close now am considering putting it off a bit longer to play this first, I'm just not sure what the best order would be (I have heard playing XC first would be ideal but not necessary). Either way I do be intending to play this when released, everything I've seen (including this video) tells me it's a game I will definitely love.
I think the general playing order would probably go as follows - Xenoblade 1 > Future Connected > Xenoblade 2 > Torna The Golden Country and you can pretty much choose to play Xenoblade X whenever
I think it depends on your preferences - do you prefer to have a portable version that you can take anywhere, or do you prefer a console experience with better graphics?

I missed out on the first release after operation rainfall and had to buy a copy on ebay. It cost me 90$ CAD back then and oh my GODDDDDDD it was so worth every penny. I can't put into one comment just how amazing this game was for me. Best game ever. Hands down.
I remember being interested in it when it first came out on Wii after reading about it in the Official Nintendo Magazine (this magazine we had in the UK), but I didn't get round to getting it and I've been kicking myself since, eventually got it on New 3DS though and loved it :)
I first played this game really young at a friend house(i had 8 yo, game was just released)we were just having fun in colony 9 and i didnt know anything. At my 10 YO birthday, while shopping with my mother, i saw this game when entering the shop and i had such greats memories of the feel of the first area, the colony 9 and all that i asked to have it as a present. I started playing it. I had so little rpg experience. And it was insanely difficult to me, an alone child that didnt understand the stuff, gem, arts systems, that didnt have enough patience to farm xp. I gave up on so many bosses, not playing the game for several months each time i stopped. Every time i came back to it, i was a bit stronger and was able to defeat that boss. It took me almost 4 years to finish it, with so many pauses. Nothing is more true to me that the « i grew up with this game ». As shulk progressed, i understood more of the game mechanics each time, and got stronger. I almost feel like i belong to the universe they live in.Today i have played the game 4 times. I know more than half of the cutscenes by heart. I listen to its OST everytime. I wouldnt be the same person without this game. And i’ll be more than happy to play it again, and maybe 100% it this time. I love this game cause a lot of people have a really personal story with :) i really hope that more people will experience and love the great game that xenoblade chronicles is.!
I've only put a (relatively) few hours into Xenoblade Chronicles 2, but I don't think it has quite hooked me. Part of it being that it seems to be more complicated than it has too. I am however excited to try this one, and one of the main reasons for that is that I think the character designs looks a lot better than in 2...
The developers of these gaems like making deeply strategic and complex battle systems. I think you'll like this one alot more though. Its more straightforward but it still retains some of that higher level complexity for gamers who are into that sort of thing ( you certainly wont be taking out enemies that greatly outclass you unless you really get deep into the combat) but you can play the game in very very simple ways
Well done, good sir! A very well-thought-out video that concisely stated what needed to be said about this game. I especially loved the last part about the incredible story and use of foreshadowing. Also, I love how you gave a shoutout and recommendation for Chuggaaconroy's LP of XC1! He is the reason why I got into this series, and XC1 is what got me into RPGs/JRPGs - one of the many reasons why I love this game so much and why it holds a special place in my heart. :)
Nice content, I’ll watch more of it and share to my friends (I have been trying to convert them for 3 years xd) 300 hours playing the original, and nearly 1000 with X, 2 and Torna. I like these games.

I’m super die hard fan, and was can’t even begin to explain how hyped I was seeing this was coming to the switch. Like a lot of ppl who’ll play this for the first time, my introduction to the series was Super Smash. Obviously, I played it for the first time on the 3ds, and it’s now my favorite game ever. I just wish Nintendo WOULD GIVE US THE SAME SPECIAL EDITION IN THE US AS IN THE UK. 😤 that’s the one I’m getting, I had to get the UK version. Just looking at some of the screen shots, I’m remembering how the first play through felt, and I’m not ready.... 😭😭😭😭 everyone’s face have so much more emotion. Seeing pictures from the first really big event in the game, and I’m sure everyone who’s played it before know what I’m talking about, .....I don’t know that I want to play it, seeing all of that stuff the way it’s supposed to be seen, even after playing it.... I think we’re all gonna be able to relive our first play through of this one. Or at least I am.
it has most of the EU stuff, swaps the vynyl and digital code for the cd, and lacks the poster, but the art book is made hardcover. it has the game Steelbook and an exclusive CD case. its box is a slimmer EU styled box

Unfortunately I’ve had two major twists spoiled for me in XC, but robbed of context they don’t mean much and I for one am extremely excited to experience the apparently amazing story of this game. If it’s anywhere near half as good as Xenoblade 2 or Tornado then it will be a masterpiece.

I just started the definitive edition last week. I've really enjoyed it so far! I could see being overwhelmed by the combat if I didn't play FF14. The character development seems well done and I enjoy just wandering around the world. The depth put into its creation really shows. Thanks for video!
Chuggaconroy got me into this game. I had wanted to play it when I first saw gameplay but was sceptical about how it would be. Thanks to him its now one of my favourite videogame series period alongside the Persona Series. Even though my brother has my original hard disc copy with his wii u I'm still pre-ordering the special bundle because I can't wait to play this on the switch
no matter if this is your first time playing this game or you're a long time fan revisiting this game, the best way you can start playing this game is PLEASE take your time on the titlescreen, let the beautiful music play, watch the sun set and the sky getting filled with stars, relax, take it all in and forget everything else from reality.
Love xenogears and xenosaga1,2,3. Always wanted to try this but when I found it for 3ds, I didn't have the cash on me. My only question, is it related to xenogears or xenosaga, or is it a different story altogether?
I first played Xenoblade on the 3ds and got stuck and forgot about it because I was stupid and under leveled. Now that I'm playing it on the switch with the beautiful new look and bigger brain, this is my most favorite rpg I've ever played.

I haven't done a full playthrough in too long, but I ended up putting together a spreadsheet of every quest and unlock conditions for them just to make sure I don't miss anything when this game comes out.
@@PeterGargan well I planned on doing all the quests a while back and needed a guide. Found one that was very unhelpful because it didn't list affinity needs or have a way to check off the quests. So I fixed it, and it's all in Google Docs
Play Xeno on the Wii, then play Xeno X Then play Xeno Definitive Edition Future Connected then play Xeno 2 get to chapter 7 then play Torna then play Xeno 2 from chapter 8 on and you'll be all caught up with the series. You can play X or not play X as it doesnt matter when you play X.
This'll basically be my first experience. I tried a bit of X but like you said it just didn't click with me. I've always had this feeling like the first game wouldn't be like that for me though.

Nah they're pretty much separate stories, and if I can remember rightly, I believe Xenosaga was developed by Monolith but published under Namco's name, then Nintendo bought out the majority of Monolith, making Monolith a first party Nintendo developer, which is why the Xenoblade series is developed by Monolith, but published under Nintendo's name - I could totally be wrong about this, I'm not an expert on the ins and outs of developing and publishing games, so if anyone else is reading, feel free to correct me if I got anything wrong :)

Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition is a remake of 2010's Xenoblade Chronicles, while Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is the 2017 sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles. From my experience, I have a difficult time deciding which game I like more, but I tend to lean more towards the original. The Definitive Edition will be the most complete version of the original due to extra content and general quality of life improvements added.

Depends on the circumstances really. If you already have a Switch then you might as well wait for the Definitive Edition, but the 3DS version plays just fine if you don't care for graphics too much.
I've played until the arm on Wii U so far. I kinda dropped it when the switch came out but was still slowly making my way through. But now that definitive edition is coming out, I think i'm just gonna wait and play it on the switch.

Personally I don't think it matters too much which order you play them in, but there may be some moments in the ending of 2 that won't have as big of an impact if you haven't played 1. Obviously I can't spoil it but it's not a big deal and you don't have to play one to understand the story in another.
Yes, yes, story amazing, narrative incredible, I know I know. Now, what made me fall in love with xenoblade 2 was farming blades and stuff, upgrading for beeing able to beat a ton of superbosses and so on. Does this game also have that, or is it more story focused. I like a good story, but I play for the farming and unlocking stuff

You fight in real time, meaning you can move your characters around as you select combat arts. The arts typically require a few seconds of cooldown to be used again.
I cannot agree more with the nothing is like your first time statement, ESPECIALLY with this masterpiece. Its an incredible experience. If you are going to experience this for the first time, let me just tell you that I envy you a lot.
As someone who experiences the game on the Wii back when the series was not well known and barely made it outside of Japan, I'm so excited for this game, and from what has been shown, it has surpassed my expectations! I actually have an oposite opinion about the characters. I felt like most of the party members were pretty bland or not interesting. Most of them aren't important to the story after they join your party. Only one of the party members I would say that I like a lot. The story I agree though is one of the best stories, and that is what I love most about the game! I also love how the story focuses around a weapon, which is something that I had never experienced before! The Monado became and still is my favorite weapon! Also the music is amazing, and one of my favorite soundtracks, and has my favorite optional boss music! And yeah not needing to grind is something that I don't hear people talk about, and It's such a great and rare thing in rpgs. I also love how the game gives you reasons to switch out party members for different situations in the game!
Personally I felt the characters had some pretty fun moments that felt like you were watching genuine friends interact with one another, but I do agree that one or two of them are just "there". In my opinion I feel it's Shulk, Fiora, Melia (and to an extent Dunban, at least early on) that mostly drive the plot forward, while Reyn, Riki and Sharla are along for the ride.

That's what Monolith soft did different for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 that I appreciate most about that game, which makes it hard for me to decide which game I like more. Yeah the characters are relatable. They feel like real people that you could meet in real life. Exactly! Those are exactly the characters that I was thinking of! It's like you read my mind!
I didnt buy it for new 3ds because i knew some new console at that time will come out. And i guessed right. (its also inferior as hell)But i do have a rom for it (but no1 figured out how to make it work on emulator yet lol). I wonder if they will re-add the battle area, like its in xenoblade 2 where characters from 2 dimensions meet.
I'd kinda want to say that the late SNES era started it all. Takahashi's team had a certain style that was starting to shine through with the Magitek scenes in FF6, some of the details and distinct battle system of Seiken Densetsu 3, noticeably absent in the "Trials of Mana" remake, but that shine through very clearly in Xenoblade 1, and 2, but most prominently in X.

bonus tip : do not start Future Connected before the main game as it has been said that it is something you can choose to play right from the start.

When I heard it was coming to switch I was surprised and excited to relive one of the greatest stories ever told in video games and I hope that the definitive edition will bring many memories to players who have never experienced this story before. The game is truly a work of art and it deserves a larger audience. So If you haven't played the game and are interested in it you should not pass up the opportunity
not to mention it's first Wii release was only in Japan and Europe, so it was impossible to get in the states without paying a consoles worth of money to get it
I didn't played any xenoblade chronicles game in my live, but one day, my friend recomendes me the xenoblade chronicles 2, I freakin' love it, and I heard that the first is better, do you can even know how hyped I am for the XC definitive edition?
I wouldn't say it's better than XC2, just different... I really enjoyed both of those games. I liked the story of XC2 better, but that's just my opinion.
@@07Flash11MRC Honestly... I think Xenoblade 2 had the worst story out of all of them. Still good, just personally the worst. And I do believe Xenoblade 1 was better in gameplay. Honestly I was just very *very* disappointed with Xenoblade 2, coming from someone who played all games in the series. Hell, I like Xenoblade X more in all aspects, gameplay and story, and think Xenoblade 1 trumped them all in gameplay and story.

Chugga’s LP was AMAZING! I kinda wish I could forget it though so that I could experience the story originally for myself as I watched it because I had no way of playing it.
I'm in the same boat as you, except I had a Wii and could've bought it but wanted to know what I was getting myself into first. I still have yet to play it, but I've recently preordered DE now that I'm out of school and can afford the money and time I'll be putting into the game. I can't wait to finally play it for the first time since discovering this game several years ago!
Also, think of it this way: we'll all be experiencing it "for the first time" with the new graphics, remastered songs, new DLC content, and whatever other surprises Monolith Soft has hidden inside DE. :)

I never beat the game at times it took me out of the experience when i first played it because of the graphics, but once i started getting deep in the game it didn't matter how the graphics looked to me

There is no clear definition about what the difference between a remaster and remake is. It's purely a semantic choice.
@@garywood97 remasters only uses the same game and upgrades it to work on modern consoles. They're actually much closer to regular ports as they don't use different engines. Xenoblade DE has elements of the original game still in it such as some models only having minor upgrades but overall its using a different engine, most models and content. The engine part alone is enough to be considered a remake
In my attempt to resist grabbing my 3DS and replaying this masterpiece until it releases I have gotten 280 hours in Xenoblade Chronicles 2...I have nothing left to do now but wait.

The build variety and shear beauty of the game is simply amazing.
The game was a dud. They even wrote it out of the series by not mentioning or having any tie-in in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

The game had near critical acclaim all around and the only thing lacking was the story...which can be forgiven because for the Wii U alone (already a dying system), it was ahead of it's time and was clearly meant to be a test for a future project by Monolith on a much bigger scale (perhaps a sequel especially considering how radically different the story of the game was compared to the initial drafts.)
XCX is a failure on many points. Not only on the story but the poor combat system mostly with the skells, the inconsistencies of the lore that couldn't explain properly how you could find so many different races/species on a deserted planet when there is actually nothing remaining about old civilizations nor even villages other than your own crashed city and the cat race hidden in a mountain and the nonsensical Cauldros region... . Tons of the worst game mechanics ever : you had to wait for hours an item to drop from your probes because if you turned your console off, you received nothing eh... the relationship garbage system was so poorly developed so that they gave you a quest once you finished the game to rise it which killed its sole purpose. Same for the money, same for the resources. Oh god and the random stats on armors where you had to kill thousand times the same monster so you eventually be satisfied by your RNG stats if you are lucky. None of that happens in XC1.
And XC1 was working on a Wii / 3DS and was far more interesting in every aspects. XCX "ahead of his time" just because the game had cool worldbuilding graphics and skell animations, too bad the rest was complete BS.
I hope they improve the AI of the characters you’re not controlling, because I can remember some characters that I had to control myself to make their spot on my team worthwhile.
I think cool will be when they allow us to change characters everytime, now you can only can select autoattack on other teammate when you doing chain attack or warn other party member
I never had the chance to play the game that started it all, since I never got the chance to buy it during the end cycle of the Wii. I've been playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and so far, it's an absolute joy to experience.

I own Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and beat it when it came out I have the DLC also but never finished it. I'll be picking up the original soon as it comes out and then playing through the second game again with the DLC after beating the original. This is going to be great

2:20 BRUH. It took me 169 hours to beat the game, and I barely even scratched the surface of the side quests (if there are indeed over 400 side quests, as I've heard).
How did you take that long without doing tons of sidequests?
Well I did do a lot, but not nearly all 400.
It took me around 400 hours and I still didn’t get everything. The farming for Colony 6 resources probably took up most of my time.

Have a weird relationship with this particular game. Got it on the 3ds and severely underestimated how long it was and burnt myself out too quickly without completing it. Didn't help that the 3ds version is literally the worst one to play. Bought it on the WiiU and decided to take it slow and enjoy it for worth its worth years later after beating Xenoblade 2, only for them to announce the definitive edition. Now, I've ordered the collectors edition and the digital edition for a game I already bought twice before....Here's hoping I actually finish it this time around lmao

For real, I played the game back in 2014 for multiple reason (the hype of shulk in smash, the incredible music) and his LP was one of them, and I can say it changed me as a player. It made me realise that RPGs were actually not that complicated to grasp and got me into many other RPGs later on. It's an absolute must play, and I honestly cried when they announced the definitive edition, I recognized it right with the first note of the main theme played.

I got this game when it came to the NEW 3ds and played through a bit of it, but I got quickly overwhelmed because it was the first open world RPG I tried. Having played through more games of this kind now I feel ready to try the remake as I did play long enough originally to grow attached to some of the characters and the world.

Nicely done video. I've never played a Xenoblade game, despite owning XC 2 since late September which I've kept putting off playing for other stuff, but I've been eagerly looking forward to this release for the past few months having it on pre-order. I had been planning on playing XC 2 in the time left before this is released but being so close now am considering putting it off a bit longer to play this first, I'm just not sure what the best order would be (I have heard playing XC first would be ideal but not necessary). Either way I do be intending to play this when released, everything I've seen (including this video) tells me it's a game I will definitely love.
I think the general playing order would probably go as follows - Xenoblade 1 > Future Connected > Xenoblade 2 > Torna The Golden Country and you can pretty much choose to play Xenoblade X whenever

I think it depends on your preferences - do you prefer to have a portable version that you can take anywhere, or do you prefer a console experience with better graphics?
Either that or if you have a Switch wait for this Definitve Edition as it will be the most complete package

I missed out on the first release after operation rainfall and had to buy a copy on ebay. It cost me 90$ CAD back then and oh my GODDDDDDD it was so worth every penny. I can't put into one comment just how amazing this game was for me. Best game ever. Hands down.
I remember being interested in it when it first came out on Wii after reading about it in the Official Nintendo Magazine (this magazine we had in the UK), but I didn't get round to getting it and I've been kicking myself since, eventually got it on New 3DS though and loved it :)
I first played this game really young at a friend house(i had 8 yo, game was just released)we were just having fun in colony 9 and i didnt know anything. At my 10 YO birthday, while shopping with my mother, i saw this game when entering the shop and i had such greats memories of the feel of the first area, the colony 9 and all that i asked to have it as a present. I started playing it. I had so little rpg experience. And it was insanely difficult to me, an alone child that didnt understand the stuff, gem, arts systems, that didnt have enough patience to farm xp. I gave up on so many bosses, not playing the game for several months each time i stopped. Every time i came back to it, i was a bit stronger and was able to defeat that boss. It took me almost 4 years to finish it, with so many pauses. Nothing is more true to me that the « i grew up with this game ». As shulk progressed, i understood more of the game mechanics each time, and got stronger. I almost feel like i belong to the universe they live in.Today i have played the game 4 times. I know more than half of the cutscenes by heart. I listen to its OST everytime. I wouldnt be the same person without this game. And i’ll be more than happy to play it again, and maybe 100% it this time. I love this game cause a lot of people have a really personal story with :) i really hope that more people will experience and love the great game that xenoblade chronicles is.!

I feel exactly the same about this game, it is one of the best stories i have ever heard or seen in any type of media.
I've only put a (relatively) few hours into Xenoblade Chronicles 2, but I don't think it has quite hooked me. Part of it being that it seems to be more complicated than it has too. I am however excited to try this one, and one of the main reasons for that is that I think the character designs looks a lot better than in 2...
The developers of these gaems like making deeply strategic and complex battle systems. I think you'll like this one alot more though. Its more straightforward but it still retains some of that higher level complexity for gamers who are into that sort of thing ( you certainly wont be taking out enemies that greatly outclass you unless you really get deep into the combat) but you can play the game in very very simple ways
Well done, good sir! A very well-thought-out video that concisely stated what needed to be said about this game. I especially loved the last part about the incredible story and use of foreshadowing. Also, I love how you gave a shoutout and recommendation for Chuggaaconroy's LP of XC1! He is the reason why I got into this series, and XC1 is what got me into RPGs/JRPGs - one of the many reasons why I love this game so much and why it holds a special place in my heart. :)

It's been so long since I've played XC1 that it'll be like a new game to me so pumped for this and my collector edition to come in!
I’m super die hard fan, and was can’t even begin to explain how hyped I was seeing this was coming to the switch. Like a lot of ppl who’ll play this for the first time, my introduction to the series was Super Smash. Obviously, I played it for the first time on the 3ds, and it’s now my favorite game ever. I just wish Nintendo WOULD GIVE US THE SAME SPECIAL EDITION IN THE US AS IN THE UK. 😤 that’s the one I’m getting, I had to get the UK version. Just looking at some of the screen shots, I’m remembering how the first play through felt, and I’m not ready.... 😭😭😭😭 everyone’s face have so much more emotion. Seeing pictures from the first really big event in the game, and I’m sure everyone who’s played it before know what I’m talking about, .....I don’t know that I want to play it, seeing all of that stuff the way it’s supposed to be seen, even after playing it.... I think we’re all gonna be able to relive our first play through of this one. Or at least I am.
actually id like to point out the Australian special edition is situationally better than the UK one
it has most of the EU stuff, swaps the vynyl and digital code for the cd, and lacks the poster, but the art book is made hardcover. it has the game Steelbook and an exclusive CD case. its box is a slimmer EU styled box

Well, according to my 400+ hours in Xenoblade 2 and my 200+ hours in the original one, I will of course buy the remake of one my favorite games ever.
I actually played the game 6 years ago and decided to replay on 2018 without remembering any thing, so you could say I played two blind playthroughs of this game

Unfortunately I’ve had two major twists spoiled for me in XC, but robbed of context they don’t mean much and I for one am extremely excited to experience the apparently amazing story of this game. If it’s anywhere near half as good as Xenoblade 2 or Tornado then it will be a masterpiece.
You cant actually be spoiled on the impact of the narrative in Xeno 1 without watching the cutscenes online or something

I just started the definitive edition last week. I've really enjoyed it so far! I could see being overwhelmed by the combat if I didn't play FF14. The character development seems well done and I enjoy just wandering around the world. The depth put into its creation really shows. Thanks for video!

Chuggaconroy got me into this game. I had wanted to play it when I first saw gameplay but was sceptical about how it would be.

Love xenogears and xenosaga1,2,3. Always wanted to try this but when I found it for 3ds, I didn't have the cash on me. My only question, is it related to xenogears or xenosaga, or is it a different story altogether?
They pretty much have nothing to do with Xenogears and Xenosaga story-wise, the "Xeno" in the title is pretty much the only thing they have in common

I first played Xenoblade on the 3ds and got stuck and forgot about it because I was stupid and under leveled. Now that I'm playing it on the switch with the beautiful new look and bigger brain, this is my most favorite rpg I've ever played.
BUT: 1)CAN YOU AUTO ATTACK WHILE MOVING(i'm looking at you xc2)
2)WILL THE BOSS MUSIC STILL PLAY AFTER SOMEONE DIES

2) I think the music changes when the game recognises that your party is in danger.

I'd say try and play blind but turn to a guide if you get stuck
I haven't done a full playthrough in too long, but I ended up putting together a spreadsheet of every quest and unlock conditions for them just to make sure I don't miss anything when this game comes out.
Chances are they might add in some new ones as well, but you sound very organised XD
@@PeterGargan well I planned on doing all the quests a while back and needed a guide. Found one that was very unhelpful because it didn't list affinity needs or have a way to check off the quests. So I fixed it, and it's all in Google Docs

It's not a huge deal, but that is a good order to do them in :)
Play Xeno on the Wii, then play Xeno X Then play Xeno Definitive Edition Future Connected then play Xeno 2 get to chapter 7 then play Torna then play Xeno 2 from chapter 8 on and you'll be all caught up with the series. You can play X or not play X as it doesnt matter when you play X.
This'll basically be my first experience. I tried a bit of X but like you said it just didn't click with me. I've always had this feeling like the first game wouldn't be like that for me though.

Nah they're pretty much separate stories, and if I can remember rightly, I believe Xenosaga was developed by Monolith but published under Namco's name, then Nintendo bought out the majority of Monolith, making Monolith a first party Nintendo developer, which is why the Xenoblade series is developed by Monolith, but published under Nintendo's name - I could totally be wrong about this, I'm not an expert on the ins and outs of developing and publishing games, so if anyone else is reading, feel free to correct me if I got anything wrong :)

It doesn't really matter what order you play them in, but ideally play 1 first then 2, it will eventually make sense why :)

Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition is a remake of 2010's Xenoblade Chronicles, while Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is the 2017 sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles. From my experience, I have a difficult time deciding which game I like more, but I tend to lean more towards the original. The Definitive Edition will be the most complete version of the original due to extra content and general quality of life improvements added.

Depends on the circumstances really. If you already have a Switch then you might as well wait for the Definitive Edition, but the 3DS version plays just fine if you don't care for graphics too much.
Played the original - one of the absolute best games ever. Sounds ridiculous but I didn’t want it to end, it was an incredible experience.
I played it on my 3DS, everything was beautiful and can't wait to play it on my Switch on a big screen!!!
I have this on the Wii and have played very little of it so it'll pretty much be like playing this for the first time.

I've played until the arm on Wii U so far. I kinda dropped it when the switch came out but was still slowly making my way through. But now that definitive edition is coming out, I think i'm just gonna wait and play it on the switch.
although i already knew the story a while ago (because i didn't think that i would get interested in xenoblade) half a year later i played through xenoblade 2 and i think i am going to buy Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition because of this video, so thank you for this.

So looking forward to it, if any game deserves hd graphics its it. I loved the wii and 3ds version but man they were blurry and framerate had problems. But its still one of my favorite jrpgs just behind persona 4 golden.
The colony 9 song is enchanting. I heard it while playing and instantly fell in love how the game made me feel.

I just got xenoblade 2. Should I hold off on playing it until After this comes out and I’ve finished it?
Personally I don't think it matters too much which order you play them in, but there may be some moments in the ending of 2 that won't have as big of an impact if you haven't played 1. Obviously I can't spoil it but it's not a big deal and you don't have to play one to understand the story in another.

Yes, yes, story amazing, narrative incredible, I know I know. Now, what made me fall in love with xenoblade 2 was farming blades and stuff, upgrading for beeing able to beat a ton of superbosses and so on. Does this game also have that, or is it more story focused. I like a good story, but I play for the farming and unlocking stuff
You can farm to maximise your arts, which might keep you busy, and there will be some formidable superbosses :)
2:20 dang it took me 150 hrs just to do the main story. Then again I really like to explore and take my time with these kinds of games.
Same, I still haven't cleared the story of Xenoblade 3, about 75 hours in and I don't think I'm anywhere near as done.
I played 2 on the switch and fell in love. Can't wait to play to definitive edition and experience the first story counting down the days till it comes ojt

it would be my first time playing without ANY clue on the storyline. Could someone please answer this: Is this a turn based fighting game or open combat similar to the Tales of series???
You fight in real time, meaning you can move your characters around as you select combat arts. The arts typically require a few seconds of cooldown to be used again.

As someone who experiences the game on the Wii back when the series was not well known and barely made it outside of Japan, I'm so excited for this game, and from what has been shown, it has surpassed my expectations!
I actually have an oposite opinion about the characters. I felt like most of the party members were pretty bland or not interesting. Most of them aren't important to the story after they join your party. Only one of the party members I would say that I like a lot. The story I agree though is one of the best stories, and that is what I love most about the game! I also love how the story focuses around a weapon, which is something that I had never experienced before! The Monado became and still is my favorite weapon! Also the music is amazing, and one of my favorite soundtracks, and has my favorite optional boss music!
And yeah not needing to grind is something that I don't hear people talk about, and It's such a great and rare thing in rpgs. I also love how the game gives you reasons to switch out party members for different situations in the game!
Personally I felt the characters had some pretty fun moments that felt like you were watching genuine friends interact with one another, but I do agree that one or two of them are just "there". In my opinion I feel it's Shulk, Fiora, Melia (and to an extent Dunban, at least early on) that mostly drive the plot forward, while Reyn, Riki and Sharla are along for the ride.

That's what Monolith soft did different for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 that I appreciate most about that game, which makes it hard for me to decide which game I like more.
Yeah the characters are relatable. They feel like real people that you could meet in real life. Exactly! Those are exactly the characters that I was thinking of! It's like you read my mind!
I didnt buy it for new 3ds because i knew some new console at that time will come out. And i guessed right. (its also inferior as hell)But i do have a rom for it (but no1 figured out how to make it work on emulator yet lol).
I wonder if they will re-add the battle area, like its in xenoblade 2 where characters from 2 dimensions meet.
I'd kinda want to say that the late SNES era started it all. Takahashi's team had a certain style that was starting to shine through with the Magitek scenes in FF6, some of the details and distinct battle system of Seiken Densetsu 3, noticeably absent in the "Trials of Mana" remake, but that shine through very clearly in Xenoblade 1, and 2, but most prominently in X.
X is literally one of the best RPGs I've ever seen come to life. like holy fuck that game is a masterpiece in game design.
