- Apple TV's Ted Lasso is a sleeper hit for many, but one of the best aspects of this show is how it can teach you to be a likable person. The Character of Ted Lasso may seem like a silly nice guy on the outside, but deep down, he has some character traits that we all should strive to implement into our own lives. If you want to become a likable person, you gotta check this video out!
this is obv a personal opinion but the fact that season 2 outdid season 1 is just insane
Yeah, for me it wasn't, S1 was as near perfect as you can get, S2 no so much, it was still good overall but heck it had its problems for me, but good that you like it so much
I give Season 1 the nod but it is close.
Season 1 did all it did with 30 minutes per episode. 2 gets up to 50.
Now, I am happy with MORE Ted, and longer episodes, but it is remarkably more difficult to stick to a time limited form while doing everything else.
They do get to dig much deeper into the characters in Season 2, and it does contain some of the best episodes.
It is like comparing an A season to an A+ season.
It is so close in my mind.
I actually use this video in my classroom. It’s an important part of our curriculum and classroom culture. It’s a tough inner-city school, and let me tell you my students took these lessons upon themselves like a personal mantle. We even wrote them up on they wall because they referred to them so often!
My kids love the swear at the end. It always makes them giggle and feel like they’re getting away with something. And you should see how quickly they apply these lessons to their lives at school! One of my toughest kids went from “it’s not my fault,” to “my bad, I apologize.”
The one thing my students have mentioned is 1:36. They always remind me that nobody is below anybody else. I wouldn’t have noticed it, but my kids are truly amazing!

Great video mate, this is what I was looking for, for myself. Another thing I've noticed that Ted does is he always appreciates everyone he comes into contact with. He always says I appreciate you and means it.

Great video. A really interesting way to explain why we all loved this character and series effortlessly. I must admit, I thought it was going to be a fish out of water cliche type series. But it was gentle and funny and charming. Superb scriptwriting and characters with just the right amount of imperfection and quirky. One of the best series I have ever seen💜
Great analysis! The brilliance of optimism (so long as it's aware not naive), is it leads to appreciation, and we can use that so others can see the value in themselves when no-one else does. We get so caught up in our own lives that we can become invisible, so letting people know their usefulness and admirable traits can bring them back to life.

There's something truly subversive about a sports show championing all these incredibly healthy, under-appreciated values and life-lessons. In my experience, sports were the environments where such values as compassion, humility, and generosity were least present. In episode 3, when Ted makes clear to Trent Crimm that winning matters less than these other values, that's the moment the show announced its subversive mission statement.
Of course, in season two, the subversion goes too far, and Beard has to reel Ted's indulgences back in. Winning is less important, but it still matters. When Ted indulges one player's second chance over everyone else's needs, his niceness stops being healthy.

I watched this from the lens of having coached collegiate athletics for 10 years, and there were some huge issues with how Ted ran his team. Mainly he made some giant unilateral decisions without even looping the rest of his staff in. Hiring Roy, bringing back Jamie, etc. At the end of the day that is the head coaches decision. But to not even consult Beard, someone who has essentially been with him for some time and followed him all the way to England, is pretty absurd. Ted is “nice” but he really does have a certain disregard for the staff working directly under him.
But he can't even keep his wife tho
The comedy is especially poignant given British culture as it relates to Americans. I lived in London for a while and started off with a Lassoean approach to relationships, but must admit that I wasn't strong enough to endure the accusations of insincerity that come with projecting a belief in the human spirit and togetherness. There is an innate visceral rejection against overt attempts to connect with people when you've met them less than the 400 times that is required for acceptable attempts at intimacy. It's unclear whether Lasso is fiction or whether I just didn't believe in myself enough to break the cold cold ice of the people who were otherwise skeptical and judgmental of overt displays.
don't be like ted. The first season is great, but it's just bait for the second season where they go all out on "woke" bullshit. the characters are boring, delusional, obnoxious and generally pathetic. It's a show designed to sneak toxic feminism into the viewers while prentending to be about masucline traits that lead to success. Do yourself a massive favor and avoid the show like it's cancer.
It's so funny when little fashos get so triggered, their whining comes out in an incoherant cloud of buzzwords that shows that they have no clue what they are actually whining about because they just follow their propagandists like good little sheep.
Bro I hope you can soon enough appreciate this show but if not, that’s alright, no show is for everyone. Have a good day :)

I couldn't disagree more, its a great comedy that touches on serious topics, same as Bill Lawrence had done with scrubs

Shame that season 2 sucked.
