Turkey was told not militarize Northen Cyprus after the invasion and not to permanently deploy any soldiers in the occupied part. But guess what.... The Turks didn't remain true to the treaty... So Greece after 1974 militarized these islands as a response to Turkey's behaviour in regards to Cyprus. That's the whole truth, not only the half part....

Greece doesn't have an army on the islands, it has a national guard well within its international legal rights.
The first 3 minutes were very misleading and biased. Threatening to enforce the treaty? It's not just a treaty. UNCLOS is international law. Also she convienently forgot to mention all the overflights over Greek Islands by the turks. Also threatening to declare war because international law doesn't favor you is anything but peaceful. Moreover the militarization of the islands is justified. According to, once more, the charter of the UN a country has an obligation to protect itself from aggression. If overflights, hate talk from politicians and funding of terrorists in Syria isn't a sign of aggression I don't know what is. Both countries are weak, economically speaking. Greece hasn't recovered yet and turkey is fighting inflation and investment flight so a war will just destroy both their economies before ending in a stalemate with no clear winner. Normally I'd preach on how we should cooperate, which would be a win-win but the politicians on both sides see reaching out as showing weakness to the '' enemy''.
