    I love how clean you did this. When my pod shows up in the mail I'll be using your method. Super clean job.

    i've never used that nylon tubing but maybe a piece of scotch or painters tape over the spliced wire will help from it getting caught

    awesome video thanks! I can't find a gauge pod that looks good in my car, I don't like the A-pillar look, or on top of the dash swivel mount... I found a company that makes a gauge holder for the AC vent. it looks really good, but I'm worried I won't be able to turn on the heating, will it damage the electrical wires/vacuum hose? I don't wanna lose my ac or heating just to accomodate a gauge. but damn does it look good lol

      I ran the gauge in my vent for a while, you won’t even notice the difference in the climate control. You have to keep that vent closed at all times. Thanks for checking us out!

    My First time installing a turbo and Boost gauge. Why does the needle go from zero to 20HG once you start the car? I thought the needle should stay at zero and go up as you drive the car. Can you explain? My boost gauge also goes to 20HG once I start my car. I’m not sure what to expect. If I want to get 10 pounds of boost for my setting, does that mean I need to adjust The boost controller until I get to 10 psi when driving? Thx in advance.

      Your gauge should be at 0 when the engine is off. But the second you turn it on, it should go into vacuum because its constantly sucking in air until you build boost pressure.
      Vacuum is negative pressure and boost pressure is positive pressure.

    You never showed what you did on the dimmer switch. Dud you crimp, add wire? How did you even plug in the connection between gauge and dimmer switch?

      5:23-6:27 clearly explains how to hook up the wiring. Thanks for the question and support.

      Unknown 9173 this is how much vacuum your engine is creating 18-22lbs is a healthy range.

    Does this work for monitoring vacuum on a naturally aspirated motor as well?

    Are you gauging a vacuum or a pressure?

    • @114RIDES
      @114RIDES  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The Volvo it’s in is a turbo so at idle and part throttle you will be reading vacuum. Under load / throttle it will push past 0 in boost pressure.

    Do you still have the boost gauge on? Does it last is what I'm curious about because of how cheap it is.
