Dahling....DAHLING...she is putting Olaplex number 3 treatment step three into the mix, NOT ONE=1, the basis for olaplex, treatments which will not drop the peroxide lower than a 15 but not do shit all without the molecules of a "1"!!! You must use the ONE to retain the bonds and add others, not a 3, it is step 3 for a reason.

By the time you purchase all the items for 3 bleach baths, olaplex, toners, shampoo, you could have just gone to a stylist and had your hair bleached, cut and styled for a little more money. Plus, a stylist will definitely know what toners, foils and time to leave the bleach items in your hair. Of course, with Corona, we had to rely on doing most of this ourselves, which in that case, it makes sense.

Just FYI, Wella T11 toner produces such a more beautiful blonde than the Wella T18 toner that everyone uses for DIY blonde toning. My daughter and I have been bleaching each other’s hair for about 5 yrs now and if you are okay with all over bleach, powder lightner (not quick blue), 20 volume delveloper, a tiny bit of Olaplex and some patience (leave the bleach on long enough) will give you a great result and for a fraction of what it would cost at a salon 😊.

I love T14 for me, but you should use the Wella T14 toner on your hair if you have more orange/coppery tones in your hair after bleaching. If your hair looks more yellow or if you're trying to lighten honey/yellow blonde hair, you should go for T18 toner. Everyone's hair is different which is why there's so many different toners.

I did a bleach bath when I went to Aveda cosmetology school and I had BRIGHT pink/magenta that faded to a pretty rose gold, but I wanted to go back to blonde. My bleach bath was done on wet hair in the bowl to remove the slight pink hue and it worked PERFECTLY!! That’s the only reason to ever do a bleach bath lol

Removing blue is incredibly difficult, and taking hair back to brown can also be difficult depending on what's left in your hair. That definitely can be done at home but for most people it's unlikely that they would get a salon result by doing it themselves. Not to mention how much more damage you can get at home...

I can usually tell when someone doesn’t really know what they’re doing and that it’ll end in a hair disaster. The first girl ended up with a good result, but think about how much time and money she wasted for something that could’ve been so much better if done right. Like even though I managed to make my hair appear half-decent in the end, the places where I’d overlapped the bleach so many times eventually made my hair so fragile/damaged that over time it all broke off!! No matter how many masks or protectants or products I used, anytime I used any type of heat on it or even when I tried to get it professionally fixed, the over-processed hair just snapped off.

around 3:44 was a great explanation for something i was super confused in hair bleaching; which is why instead of leaving the root bare by like an inch or 2 unbleached, they bleach the whole head to only add shadow root later. which you answered as it can look choppy and you get a better out come when the demi-permeant shadow root color fades and the roots have a more natural fade. this explanation blew my mind, thank you Brad.

I used t11 toner from wella, its a beige blonde and very beautiful, i didnt want a white platinum blonde.for the bleach bath i use 30 vol developer but i also mixed water in it, and with the shampoo it really dilutes it. my hair feels fine, i bought a keratine conditioner and it makes my hair feel SUPER smooth and healthy. A bleach bath does seem to be helpful if you want to dye it a a colour lighter than your natural (virgin) hair but its not a dramtic difference, just a base for the dye.

I spoke to 3 different colorists on a certain store's website, and they recommended doing a bleach bath. After finding your video, and snapping a pic of your formula, I got into it. OMG, it came out so good. It did come out lighter than I had planned, but it was really good. Your mixture (minus the olaplex since it's too expensive) is my go-to instead of color remover. It's effective, barely smells, doesn't take long to lift, and washes out way easier.

I have experimented with a few methods to bleach my hair/get colour out, and I have my own mix for a bleach bath, trial and error, I used a normal bleach on one side of my hair and ended up burning it off, so to not do this on the back of my head, I decided to look up bleach baths, and found a lot of different opinions, ways of doing it, and by trial and error when I do it, it goes almost white and my hair is still in really good condition. It's the 1, 2, 3 method. 1 scoop of bleach powder, mine has flex in it, 2 scoops of developer, I use 1 10 vol and 1 30 vol. And 3 scoops of shampoo, I use Aussie SOS repair shampoo, a coconut shampoo, and a purifying shampoo. Mix it with a whisk, and then do your hair by sectioning, and using a brush to apply, and when you have coated gently rub it between your hands, and then when fully applied, rub it like you would when you shampoo your hair, it massages it thru everything, then bag your hair, leave it about 20 mins, then wash off. If you have colour on your hair, it will look as tho the colour is still on, but it's not, I'm not sure what exactly happens, but it's like it strips the colour out the hair, and then it just sits on top of the hair, or something. And when I wash it, I use Aussie SOS blonde hydration shampoo, conditioner and the 3 minutes treatment conditioner, and then shower as normal. And your hair should be in a good condition, so even if you have to do it again, it should still be soft. Sorry, I see these vids all the time, and different hairdressers say different things, it can be hard to figure out to do. I use Aussie because it works for me, you might know another make that agrees with your hair. Seriously, my hair is white. I'm resting it, then dyeing it. Not sure on the colour yet, but I dye using conditioner now, don't really use developer for dyeing anymore.. so it don't last, and I prefer that. I tend to ramble.

it does really depend a lot on your type of hair and base hair color tho. really happy you found your own mix that helps you.
20 mins with such a watered down solution as you are using would tops half a level on my hair (i have fine straight, level 8 hair naturally). i use a 1:1:2 ratio with 30vol, and leave it for around 10 mins minimum and that is just to get out stubborn blues or purples, and it does nothing to my base color.
bleach baths are, as you said, a trial an error, and that is why there is so little concise information on them. it depends mostly on the hair you are using it on, and not the products themselves you put in them.

My hair naturally like almost black, at present however I have a little salt and pepper mixed in, I find doing it slowly and gently means that my hair doesn't melt off, and the shampoo I use repairs hair, or hydrates hair, and I use a strong hydration shampoo, conditioner, and leave in treatment after I've done it, always leave it at least a week before washing it again, so I has a chance to regain the oils in the hair, and then dye it, and as I said, I use conditioner to dye my hair now, but blues can be really stubborn to come out, and I had washed my hair quite a bit before I reached for the bleach bath, using a lot of shampoo when washing my hair and using hot water to wash it, trying to get the colour out without need of it, but all that was left was this nasty blue green which wouldn't shift, so I did my bleach bath treatment, but of course I was already blonde underneath, which I did previously, and I had left each treatment of bleach bath on for about 40 minutes, and my hair was red and purple before that, and it went white quite quickly. My hair is kinda odd I suppose, but it's all about adjustments. I can't use dandruff shampoo which is what most people use to strip dye out of the hair when they are washing it out, because it burns my head for some reason, but this treatment doesn't. And I have burns from various things over the last year, including attempting the baking soda method which burnt my ear. It is all trial and error, and if doing it this way helps someone, then I'm very glad. Rather be safe then sorry. I have most definitely learned my lesson. And hair changes as you get older, so maybe that's why things that worked in the past, now burn.

I have a diy cut and color, I followed your tutorial for a wolf cut, and bought a hair lightening kit that I was recommended, my goal was to dye the ends of my layers a sunset orange. While bleaching I noticed it had actually reached the same color of orange as I was gonna dye it about 20 minutes in so I rinsed it out and now have basically no maintenance colour on my ends and I love it
