    Thanks a million guys for the humble simplistic, TH-cam video. my rear heater core broke while driving home about 20 miles from my house I didn’t want to get stuck in the cold the car started overheating now it’s starting the bog down, I got it floored and I’m only going like 30 miles an hour. I got and I thought I thought I blew the engine, first time I seen it overheat I buried the heat gauge… The next day I came out poured some fluid in there pull the car on the street and I left a trail of water thought it was coming out the exhaust since the heater core connections are right there it’s a simple fix I thought I lost my one of my favorite rides… 02 Cadillac Escalade white diamond drives like I just brought the other day 280,000 miles… thanks again guys God bless

    Dang thats a weird thing to break buut its not what my trucks doing it makes a puddle of water on the ground out of the exhast and it kinda spews whenever its revved could that be the head gasket?

    • @FatKatMOTO
      @FatKatMOTO  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could be just build up.. So even if it warms up it still has water coming out? I know, you mean dripping out.. Its just water build up. If its pouring out, thats a head gasket. You could get a $20 head gasket test and test it. Or otherwise let it be. Condensation! As long as its not smoking from the pipe, its fine.

      @@FatKatMOTO my neighbor who is a mechanic for a dealership says that my truck engine just makes a lot of condensation and I bought a head gasket kit anyway just incase if something breaks in the future I'll already have it I still do have to find out why my coolant is disappearing

      I don't remember what size, I cut the hose about an inch long and I took it up to the auto parts store and I found an elbow that would fit it then I used two hose clamps to circle it back around. Basically put the two hoses together with the elbow. It's just a thick plastic tube basically

  • @larrykraut1182

    I put about 3 gallons of water in my radiator before wasting coolant. I checked it 2 days latter and put 3 more gallons of water in. I looked at the ground and didn't see any sign of water dripping onto the ground. I figured that my rear window had a heater so I looked at the rear of my tahoe and saw the water pouring out by the exhaust pipe just like in your video but took a harder look and saw it was coming from above the tailpipe. I don't understand why you put coolant in intead of water before you knew where it was leaking?
    How much hose that is not shown is there between where it broke off of the fitting
    and where it terminates?
    Does that hose that broke off the fitting go to the radiator or the rear window heater?

    • @FatKatMOTO
      @FatKatMOTO  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      there is two hoses that runs all the way back to the rear heater. One fitting broke. Was the inline. ,if i remember. So i just cut them both, and put a splitter elbow and just returned the water back to the pump. No idea where it starts originally. Sorry i dont know that answer as it was a quick fix and i didnt get into it deeper as i should have. I didnt even use the rear heater so it wasnt much of a bother.

      I bought a HEater hose elbow. I cut both hoses from the heater core, then a about inch hose off and took it up to the store to find the right elbow size and put them together, then used hose clamps and done.

    It was obvious it was running down on top of the tail pipe from the rear heater pipes/hoses not coming from the tail pipe.

    • @FatKatMOTO
      @FatKatMOTO  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah exactly the issue. The core metal hose coming out rusted and broke off. So I just simply ran a elbow to both and let it recycle it's self.
