also H.T. are the same initials as Hermes Trismegistus - the alleged author of the Emerald Tablet on Noah's back (at least the tablet itself claims him to be the author)
I honestly don’t understand why some ppl don’t like Adam (Jonas). He’s one of the most tragic characters. Never had love, never had a normal mother. Was used by everyone, was doing everything for everyone. I felt worst for Adam and Hoahh. I love Jonas/Stranger and care for Adam as I feel so bad for him. My heart breaks when he meets his neverecaringforamyoneelsebutforherself mother. She simply abandoned him for who? Urlich? New life? Everything he did after transition was justified for me.
I love this prequel episode. Filling in the gaps, seeing how the characters got to where they were in season 1. Making the series into a loop because of course. And my brain went offline for a moment when I thought about the family tree of bartoz and silja. Silja daughter of Hannah and egon > their children Noah and Agnes > Noah and Elizabeth parents to Charlotte, Agnes and the origin parents to tronte who is father to ulrich who is father to Martha who is mother to the origin and then my brain stopped functioning I might have gone into a coma for a bit there
Ummm Hannah had a kid with her great great great grandkid and and slept with the other great great great grandkid... wonder why in this glitch world she was one of the the most deviant and off the wall character
I bet you know already, that the Tannhaus question will be answered - and better not here in the comments. Even though I am generally amazed through all the time watching reactions on youtube and looking in the comment sections; I have barely ever seen a major spoiler there. Its like people who watched this and enjoyed it don't want to ruin the experience for others that have not watched it fully yet. That is truly amazing, given the usual - shall we say - unkindness in youtube comments. This show managed to have people be kind to each other on youtube :) The real killer moment is Stranger-Adam (not yet full but soon to be Adam we know) when he sheds a tear for his mother and what he knows needs to be done. We can watch his transition from the yellow raincoat kid into this heartless person and when we saw him in Season 2 it was hard to imagine how he would end up there; but we saw his transition now. He accepts his fate at that point and does what needs to be done to achieve his ultimate goal: Kill the Origin. For that he is willing to do all that needs to be done - kind of like Noah when he works for Adam and kills all the kids. They need to die and Noah not only wants to bring back his daughter, but also believes there is a world where he does _not_ have to kill them. Also: The blank look on Bartosz face when the hears the name of the boy is simply stunning acting. You can see it in his face how he realizes how much of a pawn he truly is. And something I noticed only on second watching: Right before Claudia shoots her parallel self she asks "How is our older self, have you ever met her?" to make sure, she can acutally shoot her parallel self to take her place. As we learned how you cannot die if an older self of yourself is running around, you can't be killed she has to make sure, that possibility is ruled out before making her move to jump between both worlds. Kind of a theory of mine is, that she has two different coloured eyes because she can see both worlds. Maybe thats over analysing it, but it could also be a hint from the writers from the very beginning. Finally: Awesome cap you wear there. Really suits you well! :)
Thanks, my brother gave it to me! And totally agree with pretty much everything you said there including the audience of Dark not wanting to spoil the journey
Glad you liked it! I agree that Claudia is the most trustworthy. However, it was a little hard to see what was happening on the screen (that you were reacting to) because of the background.
I thought that there were two rather "pointless" characters. And that's Magnus and Franziska. "Pointless" may be to strong here; but I surely think they were underused. Their actions were catalysts for a lot of the things going on in the main plot but they didn't really get involved. I regret that especially for Franziska. She was introduced to us as a very selfaware and independent young woman, very intelligent, opinionated and standing up for herself. Now her older self is very docile, just following Magnus and Adam, doing their bidding. Why is she like this? They never showed us how the timetravel shenanigans broke Franziska.
This episode might be my favourite! I wonder how claudia is still alive? Or has she not died yet? As for Tannhaus' machine: We see a bit more next episode about it most likely. Nice reaction video :)!
Remember season 1 when Agnes told Doris Egon that her grandmother was from Winden and Egon asked for the name? I'm not sure whether she meant Regina or Hannah. And Egon met his own granddaughter. And Silja is both Claudia's and Jonas' sister.
15:48: Yes, that is true. If Martha follows Magnus and Franziska to Adam, she will be dead. If she brings Jonas to Eva, she will be alive. Well, until Adam kills Eva in presence of Martha which makes her finally become Eva. For Jonas, though, it's the other way around. Choosing Adam is life, choosing Eva is death.
This episode was just a :hands up: the entire time. You just know when you see that counter that it's about to be a roller-coaster. It's a great hour of television that fills in many gaps - I loved it.
We cant tell you about the end lol You know I had a feeling with silja especially in the 2053 scene, To be honest S2 ? I thought she was Jonas and marthas daughter lol We have gotten so many hints on episode 8 we will be kicking ourselves I did after seeing 3x8 You will know after Adam's and claudia conversation , I will explain after you see episode 8. 2 reactors got it ,but they will be put of the scent as they say ,when they see the time loop stuff the other reactors of dark there on 3x4 I'm glad we got many answers here as other reactors are how will they explain everything on 8 episodes.. You laughing at so many things made me laugh you were wow....wow aha Actually some didn't like this episode because it quickly went to quick for some, saying needed extra episode to flesh it out etc. I was like you when the clock started you laughed so did I 😀 With me It was awesome because I've never seen it before in a tv show. I was in awe watching shaking my head with glee so good, this episode has 9,7 on IMDb episode 8 has 9,8 from peoples votes >3 I too was when she had noah just before she said ? I its noah xD
Claudia shot her alter ego and took her place. That's why she knows what's going on in both worlds. A third party beside Adam and Eva that none of them expected. Jonas is shot by Martha. Martha is destroyed by Adam in his machine. And Claudia is shot by Noah. And all three of them are also alive.
I hope you like how it ends too I loved it even tho I didn't want something to happen , Can I say I shed tears? Anyway hope you make longer video for next episode as its over an hour... Best tv travel show I've seen . Look forward to see how you take it especially near the end 😫 What a show 👏 till next one xD
I have to defend Adam here. He is not evil, he's actually more selfless than Eva and Claudia combined. Jonas always wanted to save Mikkel and Martha, but through his live he learned that a lot more is wrong there than what he initially thought. Eva keeps all this misery going to make sure everyone she loves will live (even if it's on a never ending cicle of life, suffering and death) and Claudia's goal is to save Regina, no matter what this means to anyone else. Jonas is willing to sacrifice himself and the people he love the most (his parents and Martha) to be able to save *all* of them (Claudia and Eva could never). He doesn't have all the information they have, so he is at a disadvantage, but he is the only one whose intentions are selfless and hero-esque. Also this might be my favorite episode of the season... It was everything I always wanted from this series (and ep 8 was everything I didn't know I wanted, but I'm glad I got it). Can't wait for your reaction to the finale! Have you watched yet? *Edit:* I just listened to the end of your discussion, and the way you are describing Adam is not at all the way he thinks; it suits Eva much more, even Claudia to a degree. Adam does use people, but not because he thinks they are disposable and will just live again in the new cicle. He is trying to break the loop, so his goal is to everyone to cease existing. He promised a fake paradise for his followers to motivate them into doing what they have to do to be _really_ free. I always wanted to know how Jonas could turn into Adam, but it makes sense when you see everything he went through and you realize he is still Jonas inside, he still trying to save them all, and he still feels the same, he is just doing what he can. We can see how much he is suffering when he kills Hannah and when he destroy Martha with the God particle, but he knows this is what he needs to do to save them. Also, Hannah's death really impacted me. Yeah she was obsessed with Ulrich, which led her to do unforgivable, horrible things, but I do believe she wanted to be better for Silja and make things right with Jonas, so it sucks that that had to happen. Ok, now I'm done 😅
@ Adam firmly believes that what he's doing will end the loop, so to me it's justified. Eva is the craziest one among the three, and I don't want to talk much about Claudia before the last episode
I feel like Adam and Eva both have points. Eva simply wants everyone in the knot to keep living, and "life is sacred/worth preserving" is a pretty common moral or religious belief. Adam's take is kind of turbo-Buddhist: life is suffering, and paradise (Nirvana) is a permanent end to to that suffering via nonexistence. He genuinely thinks his goal (the cessation of all life) is a rescue from the unending suffering of the loop, and to him that makes it worth it to do terrible things. The end of this episode makes it clear he was operating based on a flawed understanding of this reality's cosmology, but his motives and Eva's could both be described as altruistic. In the end I'm Team Claudia though.
Totally see where you are coming from there and yes I agree that what Adam is doing is probably less heinous than what Eva is, but at the same time I disagree with both so much that I can't really defend either of them. Claudia is the only one in my eyes trying to find an alternate solution to this whole problem, but again I might have a different view by the end of the next episode
One thing though: wouldn't Adam have thought it would be impossible to kill altMartha, since as far as he knew, she was the Martha who would grow up to be Eva? That is to say, since Adam did not know about AltMartha2 from the second timeline, then...as far as he knew...this was the Martha that would become Eva, and was therefore un-killalbe.
when claudia kills her alt self, so does that mean thats the first time the cycle start to deviate(assuming the previous cycle claudia never kills her alt self)?
Very good catches, especially the one with noah/hanno tauber, cudos! Really enjoyed your reaction! Tbf, this was me after the episode: th-cam.com/video/I_AOfzrQYV0/w-d-xo.html Total brainfuck 😂

Hanno Tauber. Named in memory of Hannah. Silja's mother from whom she was taken.
Also. Scrap one "n" from Hanno, then make an anagram.

Wait a minute! I just realized that Agnes in the 1950’s was then visiting her grandfather Egon. WTF!
For real! I can't wait to rewatch the whole show from the beginning again.
NerdGuyProductions So I wonder if Agnes was sent there solely to split up Egon and Doris so Hannah can have an affair with him to birth Silja. Wow.
@@WriterusAeternus Probably. It doesn't seem like Adam left anything up to chance.
