    The fact that you can't die if your future self exists also explains why Helge survived being bludgeoned over and over again with a rock.

      It's just that the extent to which Ulrich hit him with the stone was predetermined to not be enough to end his life.
      The gun jamming is like the particular outcome of multiple quantum superpositions, however unlikely, being "chosen" (or "pre-chosen", you could say) by the nature of the predetermined timeline they exist in. It must, in all outcomes, preserve the consistency of a reality that contains a stable causal loop, however unlikely the course of events contained therein may seem.
      You could say that there are practically infinite parallel realities in which the gun could go off in moments like that, but they wouldn't be realities in which this causal loop could exist.

    • @michaelklaus
      @michaelklaus 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The odd thing is that the scene is still debatable.
      Yes, it is improbable that the gun misfires several times. But it is not impossible.
      It is simply more dialog that makes you assume that it was impossible. And that dialog is based on information given to Noah by Adam, who has lived through this moment.
      But Adam is a high school dropout. So is Eva. And Claudia is a known liar. The only one in this episode specifically who has worked in this field all his life is OG-Tannhaus.
      He talks about Schrödinger's cat and, therefore, about quantum probabilities. That is why I mentioned it was improbable but not impossible.
      If we now take into account that we see alternate worlds, we might come to the conclusion that Everett's many worlds interpretation might actually be applied here between the lines.
      Before 3x06, we only followed one Jonas through his part of the journey. Technically there might be lots of additional versions of the twin worlds in which the gun fires. But we follow the improbable one where it does not fire.
      This of course only makes sense if you realize that in the side by side in the beginning of this episode we do not see how Jonas and Martha are superimposed onto each other. We also see how the Kahnwald home in Winden in Adam's world is superimposed onto itself. I also have a pretty neat explanation for why we do not see that world again and why Martha did indeed "save" Jonas from that apocalypse.
      The thing is that on this sort of quantum level cause and effect become irrelevant. And so does the idea of predestination.

    Silja's reveal as the "missing link" is a pretty big deal because it's actually her who's the origin, not the Unknown: She is the original "time baby" (person being born to at least one parent that's out of their timeline), the only one whose parents are not themselves time babies. All other time babies are her descendants: She is mother to Hanno and Agnes, grandmother to Charlotte and Tronte, great-grandmother to Franziska, Elisabeth, Ulrich, and Mads, great-great-grandmother to Charlotte (again), Magnus, Martha, and Mikkel, great-great-great-grandmother to Franziska and Elisabeth (again), the Unknown, and Jonas. At that point, the loop is complete and further generations contain only repeats.

    Regarding the portal in the bunker (no spoilers for the finale):
    Noah and Helge are testing the time machine chair in the bunker. The chair exists in 1986 and they strap children to it and send them to either 1953 (Eric and Yasin) or 2019 (Mads). When the chair is activated, it opens a portal in the bunker and drops the child into the bunker. At first, the chair kills the children when it transports them, resulting in the burned eyes and the scrambled inner ears. But eventually, Noah gets it working properly and uses it to successfully send Helge from 1987 back to 1954 alive.
    The knowledge gained from developing this chair is critical for the progressive development of the time machines by Sic Mundus. Just like Jonas must exist in order for Adam to exist, the more basic time machines must exist in order for the more advanced ones to improve upon them.
    The reason the bunker is used in general is because it is directly above the wormhole in the caves. Presumably, the chair somehow utilizes the energy from the wormhole below.

    19:45 there's a point in an earlier episode where young Hanno says that a man walked in with deep sadness, like a Prisoner of war. Most attributed that to Jonas cause he walks in in like the next episode or so. But I think it's when this Noah walks in, desperate to find his daughter somehow: (

    I am greatly anticipating your reaction to this final episode.
    Claudia has figured “it” out.
    I won’t reveal anything about what happens (obviously), but I will say that though it is not front and center, the underlying theme of this show throughout all of the science, time travel paradoxes, suffering, tragic fates, existential meanings, etc., is that of love, and how it is the primary principle of the Universe.
    How its loss is sometimes insufferable, how it is the strongest of motivations, and how it can save us in the end.

    Bartosz's face when he realized the man who roped him into this whole mess turned out to be his own son😩Also, imagine losing your wife to childbirth and then she shows up a year later with Hannah and you realize she was your ex best friends sister😭
    Also young Noah having to kill his own father bc he lost faith only to realize in the end that Bartosz was right about Adam being bullshit.
    Like father, like son, being killed for losing faith in sic mundus :(
    Also, idk if u noticed in s3 ep4, adult Agnes and young Silja hug, foreshadowing their relationship. I think its interesting that both Noah and Agnes got to spend time with the younger versions of the parent that they each killed (even though obviously Agnes didn't kill Silja on purpose)
    The Bartosz-Silja-Noah-Agnes family is just so tragic and it makes me a bit sad that we didn't get more scenes of Bartosz/Silja falling in love and Bartosz raising his children. I think it would have added more weight to their characters, but I also understand that there was not enough time to incorporate every little detail since the show has so much going on

    1:49 You probably missed this on your first watch, but these clothes are more in line with what his older self wore last episode when he came around to save his younger self.
    A neat indication that he is on the way to become his older self. Just like when we first saw Jonas in his post-apocalyptic attire, and he immediately reminded us of the Stranger.

    • @michaelklaus
      @michaelklaus 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      3:02, so here Charlotte... the dead baby Charlotte, at least, is connected to the bunny.
      The wallpaper in the cyan room showed a bunny. And a fox... and Elisabeth wore a fox hat.
      The third animal is a hedgehog. And in his quills, he has an apple. And who is the character seen eating apples on the show?

    • @michaelklaus
      @michaelklaus 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      9:30 This is the main scene that people keep claiming is spoiled by the family tree in 3x02. That Silja and Bartosz are indeed Hanno/Noah's parents in both worlds.
      The thing is that it is only meant as a reveal for the audience members who let it wash over them, not for those who want to solve the mystery for themselves.
      The question isn't who his parents are and not even how they can be his parents. The question was when a boy from 2019 and a girl of a timetravelling mother would meet and have children.
      The whole point is that Adam sent her on this mission to have Noah and Agnes. While Eva does not send Bartosz nor Silja anywhere. Instead, she has sent out Egon to retrieve Hannah "to create his past."
      Just as it was foreshadowed in 1x04 in the classroom scene, the story is told in repetition and mirroring. We only see parts of both stories, but with what we know about this structural tool, we can easily fill in the gaps.

    • @michaelklaus
      @michaelklaus 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      3:30, another of those "spoiled" scenes. As if people couldn't simply guess at this point that the girl without parents and the child we hadn't seen yet might be one and the same.
      So yeah, Silja is Jonas' half-sister. But what most people completely forget is that she is also Claudia's half-sister. This means she is Regina's aunt and therefore Bartosz' great-aunt.
      But yeah, Bartosz' other love interest, Martha, is also technically related through this. But only through Hannah and not blood related... unless you looked at the family tree properly and understood what alt-Noah and Stranger-Martha were talking about.

    • @michaelklaus
      @michaelklaus 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      24:40 I wanna say so much about this. But we will see what you had to say about the ending first.

  • @SubKween
    @SubKween 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I don't think it's selfish to want to save your child. Claudia has seen how fu*ked both Adam and Eva's worlds are. Why should she be loyal to either of them? I'd choose my children over everyone else too.

    • @ItzWilson2
      @ItzWilson2  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Regarding whether Claudia and Adam are meeting for the first time....
    Something is shown in the finale where two characters are trapped, and they see something that strongly implied that these events have happened before. 😉

    • @Greyscale11
      @Greyscale11 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thinking that anything really happened "before" anything else is the real mistake. The mistake of thinking about all the events of the show in a linear way, which leads one to believe that there must've been some "first loop". But you can't claim that either Charlotte or Elizabeth was born before the other, for example, in such a "first loop".
      Their births, and thus their existences are, in effect, simultaneous.
      Everything is simultaneous and happens just a single time, but it leads to itself through the long circular chain of cause-and-effect.
      There is no repetition. In that respect at least, there is no "eternal suffering" either. People's lives and deaths only happen once - but they can encounter their older/younger selves at singular points in the timeline and (wrongly) assume that events are repeating.

    • @masteronionnorth2341
      @masteronionnorth2341 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Greyscale11 There is a sequence of events involving Jonas and Martha in the series finale, where "three" things are connected, that strongly implied that these events have happened before. Which suggests that it wasn't a single cycle. 🤔

    • @Greyscale11
      @Greyscale11 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@masteronionnorth2341 Not sure what you're referring to specifically. But generally, even things that seem new in the end could simply be regarded as parallel realities as with Adam-Jonas and World-2-Jonas. All the outcomes exist singularly alongside each other, and even interact in certain ways. But they're still predetermined.
