Yeah 0:40 me and AB both have been upgrading/redoing outfitting for years Love his Boat building videos that he has done and really whatever he puts up always wish him all the best
Thank you Wade. This was really helpful seeing the two side by side. My id 6.9 was a 2002. I ran aluminium support brackets from the side mounting bolts in mine to hold the stock backband in place. Worked wonderfully, and a friend had me do the same mod to his boat. While the stock outfitting wasn’t that great, I had totally forgotten about the engineer’s atrocious wet dream that was to follow in 2003. Looking forward to paddling the Nova as your video highlighted the similarities and differences quite well.
Man so many of these old school boats were perfect medium-larges, imo. As someone in the 185-190# range, the old school 2-size model was great. The ID 7.0, Super Ego, Ace 5.1, they all make great down river slices for the 175-200 folks. Sadly, it looks like it I'll be more of a tweener for the Nova-Super Nova. I'll stick with the Centrifuge and an Ace5.1 for now, but it looks like the large Loki will be more my size than a Super Nova, when the time comes.
Just outfitted a Pyranha S8 with the modern stout 2 seat. No modification needed, direct fit. Would love to see a comparison between the S8 235 to the Supernova if you ever see one!
@@WadeHarrison Similar to how Dagger paddlers all jumped into the new, short hotness G-Force, leaving the ID sales numbers lacking -- The S8 was also overshadowed by the S6 as they were both released during the same season. Beware the Pyranha boats of that era developing hairline cracks in the pencil width 90 degree chine channel, around the thigh brace bolts, and at the rear of the cockpit combing.
I'm sure on the ozone comparison you said that was "the last" supernova comparison 🤣 You clearly have a lot of love for this boat, hope I get to paddle one at some point!
Supernova vs Loki? To me nothing beats the Ultrafuge for squirting, splats, and cartwheels. I could see the Nova being a much better surfer and all around boat=) Thanks for the great videos. Keep it up!
We want to see more comparisons of old school boats, as there is often more availability for the bottom end of the pricing, and i think it can help a lot of new comers into the sport who don't want to go straight out and buy a brand new boat :)
I love my ID7!!! I think it’s the best all around full slice, for the 195-210 guys. I still think the Super Nova is closer to the Homeslice, than anything else I have been in. By saying that I mean volume and size. Super Nova is better all around than the Homeslice, at least my 2 cents
So true buddy I seen some your videos in it and can tell you like it like I said before the super the Id 7.0 was the best all round full slice I had paddled just needed a few tweaks to make it better and the super is it
@@WadeHarrison Care to expound please sir? What exactly didn't do it fir ya? Low bow (kick) rocker compared to the regular Session or perhaps the slab sides which could be an absolute bear to roll up? 'Member folks carpin' in the Pocket Rocket/Space Caddy/Airhead, haha! I get that the Sesh was largely thought of as the better/more aggressive design over the Plus (I mean, Barry Kennon - 'nuff said) but the Plus was no slouch. I reckon it's kind of like how the Ultrafudge/Centrifuge were viewed, with the latter being dumbed down/not to scale. Penny for your thoughts? Thanks Wade! (GREAT SuperNova vs ID vidja btw)
I had my centrifuge out on the river last week and someone came over full of questions about how did I get a supernova to NZ already and how was it etc. It's that same blue/green vapour colour combo. Unfortunately I think NZ has a long wait till we get the supernova here.
Didnt you said on the Supernova vs. Ozone video, that this is the last Supernova comparison video? Man, he is truely a fan of this boat ....😁👍. One question, which then is the worst boat ever you paddled, you never even would call a boat ....? Or make a review on yours worst nightmare...😁👍
I just did a on water of the dagger outburst dam I had high expectations going into that one and it was not as good as was hype up to be and as far as current worst boat they all have at least some good qualities I try to think from the designers mindset and go from there so would not be fair to take a full slice creek boating and say this is the worst boat ever made it sucks or a creeker playboating and be like this boat is terrible few things get me really fired up bad assembling and poor quality that’s what the Titan dragon was and the Verus gladiator boat but the design was not that bad so there’s a few
Shoutout to AB’s boat builder videos 💯 so much knowledge

Yeah with some slight modifications on that outfitting makes this boat come alive

Dam I was out in CO and paddling with a guy with one I liked that boat because of the length the S8 is also a very underrated design

😂 yeah I keep getting messages to other stuff out there and yeah I really like the design also
Been waiting for this one….thanks Wade🤙🏾
Yeah I held off because it’s the best
Supernova vs Loki? To me nothing beats the Ultrafuge for squirting, splats, and cartwheels. I could see the Nova being a much better surfer and all around boat=) Thanks for the great videos. Keep it up!
Ok I will see what can do
Fantastic videos
Was wondering would you do one of the ego vs the ID some time ? Would love to hear what you think
No I sold both of those
@@WadeHarrison ah fair enough 😅

Definitely will see what I can do
So, another video that makes everyone wanna buy a SuperNova. Keep 'em comin'.
Well it’s really that good 😉

Medievil/vengeance and Nova comparison please sir!
Will make that one happen
Do scorch x and 12 r next
Ok that’s a possibility
I always thought it was just they named the Ego and kept the theme running. “Ego” is Latin for “I” and “id” is Latin for “it”.
what they did was ego super ego and Id it’s all
Psychological terms
How about a session+ comparison?
Yes I will look to see can get one of those and I never really liked that boat

Color was first thing I noticed
Yeah I seen the new color on the supernova and was like wait a minute
