I think he might have lost just a touch of speed after he hit the wall. Toe Link's bend so easily on these cars he probably couldn't keep it perfectly straight after.
I always knew Allmendinger could celebrate! He's got a new fan from me now! Wish Chastain and Busch could have advanced but it became clear in the final stage big things were going to have to happen for that to happen. Nonetheless this was agreat race! Also did anyone else catch what Rick Allen said though about Ty Gibbs being mature for his age?! 😂💀
fun fact: out of all 16 drivers, truex is the only one who does not have a top 10 in the playoffs.
But he has the second most points. Before today, he had the most throughout. And won the regular season championship, with multiple wins this year. He's got the skills.

What if he’s exploiting it. He knows he could just get a lot of points and not wreck his car and he’ll have enough for the playoffs
NASCAR needs to implement a rule not allowing tires unless there is a flat in the last 10 laps of green-flag stage runs. This might help with some of the jockeying around and short pit in before stage ends
@@LDiamondzno one is debating the talent of Martin Truex Jr… he’s one of the 3 best drivers in Nascar. Because he’s such a great driver, he has higher expectations. According to those expectations, truex has been dog water these playoffs. Truth hurts brother.

I think Truex could make the round of 4. He's done it before, and he's won the championship already. He's got the skills to do it. But, with these cars, could be people you'd never expect to be in it.

I remember back in 2014 AJ Grabbed The Win At Watkins Glen. And Now Allmendinger after his years that he was on his roof back in Talladega not too many years ago in a gen 6 car. Now inside the gen 7 racecar his miracles shall come true and wins the Roval Race. Yes Let's Go AJ Boy 🚗💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭💭

I truly appreciate the difficulty of the roval but it is apparent by the large number of empty seats, in charlotte, that my opinion is not in the majority.

I'd say this crowd is on-par, if not slightly better than what this race was drawing in the years leading up to the Roval's introduction.

@@elliot20 COTA had a good finish but the first 2 stages and the beginning of the 3rd stage were awful. Nothing but boring strategy and weird little games that didn't even matter when a caution came out.

The #9 team advances to the Round of 8 for the owners championship. Martin Truex advanced as a driver but his #19 was cut from the owners title being behind the #9 in points.
Truex already won the season championship. He'll be fine in round of 4.

@@brandondavis8790 Yeah, and it's kind of strange since all the cars go about the same speed. Anybody can win any race, on any given day. I guess it gives the usual losers a chance to be competitive. I'm not worried about Truex, because of that.

Kyle did well, but I feel like he should have pitted during the last caution. Had he gotten the 3rd position and taken the lead with 2 to go, Busch would've made the round of 8 and possibly the final 4

I wouldn't be surprised if they get rid of the roval after next year. It's lost it's appeal and you can tell by the empty seats. It's hard to get a good view at the track.
