For me personally very good additional value that comes from deliveries is meta food. If you pick right zones, it will be coming with usable meta food - Power\Fero smoothie, CondiDamage\Expertize, power\prec etc. I pick Bitterfrost and Sandswept for this. It comes in handy because it passively tops up your stock of foods. Season 3 in particular has very good and diverse selection of food\utility items, most of which is very expensive to craft and can have additional bonuses. For example power\prec food from bitterfrost has magic find bonus on it and can be good for daily fractals if your group does not share ascended food.
Solid advice Muk! Thx for posting this. Might be different if you (and your guests) pulled the stuff from the bulletin board while doing a home instance. Then you could pool with the instance owner to purchase the contracts.
Thank for answering the question I ask myself everytime I see them on the Black Lion Compagny. I think I will buy the Hunter Contract only next time there is promotion. Even one T6 once a week will help me to craft Ascended/Legendary stuff.
I have just the seasons 3 and 4 expedition contracts and I would consider both of those worth it if you're at all interested in anything that costs map currencies (such as the skyscale in season 4) to get. Sure, it's between 3-7 bits of currency a day, but those stack over time which helps with collecting the currencies. Something I also noticed is that they are nice for level 500 cooking. A few of the maps (forgive me, but my mind if blanking at the moment on which ones) give food along with the currency and those can be salvaged for various level nutrients, which are necessary in level 500 cooking. Again, no it isn't much, but every little bit helps when you're strapped for gold. The map currencies can also be redeemed for either volatile or unbound magic by consuming them, so they are a way to acquire those as well. And you've already gone over how volatile magic can make you gold. Though I don't have the other two contracts, I would also argue that those could be useful in legendary crafting, where you have to have a stack of each material. No, these contracts probably aren't worth it if you're looking for cold, hard gold, but I would argue against them being completely worthless.
I agree, I don't think they are worthless, I just thought they were worth less than copper-fed salvage o matic, living world seasons, infinite gathering tools, and expanded material storage. (IMO of course)
@@spencers4121 I agree. The only issue is that some of these home instance nodes often require a good amount of those map currencies themselves. The good news is that there are plenty of generous node hoarders who will share their home instance with you :D
was just thinking about buying this, good thing i did not, seems like a bit of a rip off by the amount of stuff you get back, some guaranteed 6tier mats would be nice but now it a bit disappointing
great video i did not know how they worked and i might had bought one buy i need the gems for other staff. Thank you a lot for the help and i hope this sereis continues.
I personally like these to help with grinding materials. I'm not one to sell what I get. I'd rather us the materials I get. However I do agree that they shouldn't be the first items purchased in the Gem Store if you are on a new account and want to upgrade your account.
This is what I'd get the boards for. Today they went on sale. I have most of the stuff he recommended for early game purchases so this is inciting at 750 gems.
A good breakdown. I have these contracts because I want to fully complete my home instance and no other reason. It kiiinda helped with crafting the Stellar weapons from Istan though.
Thanks for the video, I was wondering if these contracts were really work it. I was debating whether to get the S3, S4, SOTO, and EoD contracts. I already have the industry and hunter ones and haven't had much value in them even though they are set to leather and blood. I don't do a lot of crafting unless I'm making a legendary but I'm constantly farming every zone I'm in just out of habit at this point. Thanks, saved me 1000xN gems!
...Currently couple of these contracts are on sale and a couple of other nodes. Think i might get since im in no rush to get the material but this slow build up over time will be useful in the long run in my opinion.
The food you get with the contracts is useful if you have a Gourmet Cooking character as you can compost the unneeded food and make cultivated seed packs. Don't throw it out or sell it for a couple of copper. Compost 4 life!
Also, consider the utility cost savings. You would have had to go out and find those things or buy them from the trading post at a slight premium. Combining the contract collection with possible home instance nodes adds it to part of the game routine. As I have been playing since 2012, I think it would take time to recover the value (like you said several years, but I'm in it for the long haul. Anyone else planning on playing for a few years, I think it's worth it. If the game craps out in 2021, then I guess it was a bad choice, but I expect several more years of gameplay. Buy them.
I bought one last year where it let me pick blood for daily and it did help. Now I bought the basic material ones and I chose leather. I didn’t know it only works one at the time :/ but in the end it it a good buy? I main medium and light armor. And I need to make ascend . Hope it was a good buy. Thank you for this vid 🥰
The completionist in me had to have them...as with most things in my home the purchase wasn’t made to make money...just to have all the shinies...the below average ROI doesn’t surprise me...thanks for confirming my suspicions though 😖
Nice video, there s just a question i didn t get an answer : if you don t connect gw2 for a month, will you receive 30 box of stuff when you come back?
Having recently discovered your videos, I love/hate going through these to see which items I have already bought were not worth it lol Thankfully this wasn't one of them, woohoo!
Nice video! :) I got them all because I'm insane and a completionist, but they really don't give you any kind of relevant advantage. Which is kinda good I guess; we love a GW2 that isn't pay2win / pay2advantage :'D
Was in the store recently, didn't get it, but after seeing it I see it is something cool, but not worth it entirely until you have almost everything else from there. They should buff it ;)
it doesn't require daily interaction, it will continue to gather ressource to the same location until you change it, and it directly mail the mats. In my opinion it's one of the few "node ressource" items who can actually be worth something because they send you items you can't directly buy, only farm. You pay money to get time. Other nodes make you pay money to get items you can buy... so... money. But less. And you need to directly gather them

I'm a returning player, if I purchased contracts before my timeoff, when I returned I would get lots of materials without logging in for few years.
These things are actually more useful when paid by a group of people (participative purchase), for example if you have a stable and loyal guild and you port a full party of them in there with every character with whom you decide to harvest the instance; that way, the guild and its members can benefit from it long term and it will pay itself out relatively quickly since everybody would only have spent a few gems on it. I think it was intended to be taht kind of item.
Delivery contracts are not "harvestable" by other people in your home instance. Everything you said is true for home instance nodes but these just mail directly to the owner each day.
the FACT is that to get all contracts you have to spend like 70 bucks, just don´t go to mcdonalds like for 3-4 times and use that money to get free stuff everyday in your favorite game :P
Black Lion Zucchini Contract is so worth it. 10/10 would reccomend. The others not so much
Another fun focused insightful time saver Muk. You are indeed Sir the Global Icon of GW2 and a Ambassador to all the brands :)
You really are a blessing for this community!
That’s way less than I was expecting from each delivery. Thanks for the info!

I used the PoF contract to get the marks for Skyscale faster. Since the marks are limited per day this is a welcoming extra.
The contracts went on sale and I thought, 'Hey maybe Mukluk did a vid on these' and sure enough : ) Thanks!
Thank you so much for making all this amazing content so frequently. You have really helped me tremendously as new player

I swear everything I have a question for you have a video for.. you're a legend. I guess I'll wait till they go on sale...
So glad you did this I kept thinking what is it exactly and how much do we get

For a Gold to Gem value, I would think it would be better to buy the home node. For farming the LW mats.

Great content once again. This is something I will look at much later on.
I’d say the s3 and s4 contracts are nice because getting the season map currencies passively is pretty nice.
A good breakdown. I have these contracts because I want to fully complete my home instance and no other reason. It kiiinda helped with crafting the Stellar weapons from Istan though.
That paltry amount of stuff is so not worth it for me. Glad I saw this. Thanks, Mukluk!
Really appreciate the video. Extremely helpful.

Dear lord the store fuzzing out was bugging the shit out of me earlier, thought my screen was broken.
Can you only direct a single team? Even if from different regions? (season 3 and 4?)
Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I kept doing the math on these and thinking "do we really get so little?"
Nice video, there s just a question i didn t get an answer : if you don t connect gw2 for a month, will you receive 30 box of stuff when you come back?
No, each time you log in on a different day you would get 1 reward.
Is there someplace we can sign up to get notifications about these sales? Cause I probably wouldn't know it if it passed by me.
All I know that I can give is to keep an eye on this page as it will get updated each week: wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gem_Store/Anniversary_Sales
why janthir synthri has 2 contracts? i mean if i get this 2 times i get something more?

what time are you doing streams cuz idk wich time it is for me
i just want to know ^^
Currently most days I start at 7pm EST, but I have a link to my calendar in the description where I constantly update everything 🤗

How you separeted stacks on 3:50?
alt + left click and drag 🙂
An item that requires additional daily interaction, bought for gold/money, giving you back your gold/money in *FIVE YEARS*.
Brilliant.

Where can you check which options are most worth it? I'm sure it's not the same 3 years later 😏
Where do you get the zucchini contract? And is this worth it? btw, is Anet not asking waay too much for this item? Doesnt seem worth it at all imo
I bought Season 3 contract just to get free winterberries/magic every day. Will be useful if i ever need ascended trinkets again, for whatever reason.
You always gonna need them for full damage, even with full legendary as there is no breeeeeeather
Do you have to login to receive the mail? Or does the mail arrive no matter you're online or not?
You have to login. If you don't, you get nothing for that day.
Is it worthy then? If yes, both or only one ?

is it worth crafting those bags you use? i find fractal and wvw bags worth buying but idk much about others
I mean.. I like having 320 inventory slots. It's pretty great lol

Tytyty I almost did... need tools first

I knew they were bad but I didn't know they were this bad 😂👌
But that will never stop being free stuff as long as the game lives.
if only the contracts worked like the ffxiv retainer
Zucchini
Most of these contracts feel like a scam to be honest.
Hmmmm Zucchini ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Yeez so few items, this isn't even worth it on sale ...
4 years to pay it off???? bye bye
Why wasn’t this 1 minute long? Is there any counter argument? These contracts seems like a complete waste.
