  • RC4WD DXR2 Dozer Vent Fix -
    As DXR2 owners are aware when you push up a hill or side hill the machine pukes hydraulic oil. I have found a solution to that.

    3 Days of hard pushing since this mod and everything is working beautifully!! The best thing is all the oil stays inside the machine now.

      this is another great video for info on this dozer. I will be plugging mine then. I wonder if the 870K loader would work yet I haven't noticed much leaking out on it.. You can plug that hole with a small rubber grommet of size or if you have a printer make you a Pla plug to look like bolt head etc for camouflaging so the hose isn't exposed anymore. Do you have the wide track kit on yours? I got ahold of Thomas, Im planning on getting the wide track kit first need my dozer in my hands...Been busy with work etc fell behind on here

      I wasn't aware of the wide track kit. I can tell you that the tracks I got are 3.5mm wider than the stock tracks. It pushes a stupid amount of dirt so I couldn't be more happy. If there is another option though, it would be good for others that might want them to know. I think his primary storefront is Facebook but I don't do Facebook. Funny I'm an IT professional with NO social media presence, except this here, I couldn't help but talk to and learn from other RC Machinery People on You Tube.

      @@rcscalebuilders8268 lol your like me I don't have Facebook either. I had looked up his community face book page. And I saw what he sells for options on this dozer and other goods. he also sells different blades for the dozer hand rails. The wide track kit it if I remember is like (59mm wide as stock was 47mm) it has bottom rollers linkage or something that comes with he kit to make it all work..He is a amazing master craftsman of is work. Im still waiting for my dozer they said it should ship out this week. shows its shipped today no tracking info or anything yet. Maybe needs to be updated?

      You'll get another shipping notification with tracking when it actually ships from Eagle. I got excited when RC4WD showed it shipped and then two weeks later it actually shipped and i got tracking from china. When RC4WD marks it shipped they have sent the order over to Eagle Machinery for fulfillment. I'm not sure how the tracks can be much wider. The tracks Thomas sold me are 47mm Wide and that leaves only 3.5mm clearance to the Ripper Hydro's and only 5mm clearance at the Ripper Frame. Its a beautiful fit but to go wider you might have to take off the rear ripper assembly for that to work. Maximum clearance to the superstructure with the 47mm tracks on is 10mm so that's the most room you have to play with. Yes he is an amazing craftsman so if he offers something than I'm sure it works great. I knew he had the blades but id rather put that money towards the 360L for now. I just looked at his Facebook and it looks like the parts for the undercarriage are to make it wider to accommodate the wider tracks. I'm super happy with the stock size tracks . I also saw on his Facebook that he's working on new finaldrives that run a smaller motor and have 5 final planetary gears for even more power and a custom new grill.

I just made a video of it. I haven't even gotten a couple batteries for it from hobby shop I do my crawers at.

    Any problems since plugging the vent line ?

    • @rcscalebuilders8268
      @rcscalebuilders8268  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Negative!! No problems whatsoever and the system actually works much more crisp. I would recommend leaving some kind of access to the vent hole though because it will be necessary to unplug the vent for filling. I've got dozens of hours running this way and i couldn't be more happy with this simple mod. I used to have to refill it all the time and the pump would cavitate on hills because the sump was always half empty. Thanks for watching and for the question.

      @rcscalebuilders8268  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Awesome!! It's been working so good on mine!! I've got dozens of hours pushing since I did it and it still working beautifully. The only issue might arise when you go to fill it. It would be really hard to fill without the vent so that why myself and others have left it exposed so you have access to it without tearing the machine apart. Thanks very much for watching and commenting.
