ABBA Cassandra & Soldiers & The Piper & The Visitors & SOS & Move On & One Man One Woman & When All Is Said & Done & Hole In Your Soul still ABBA crazy all these years later saw ABBA live in Melbourne Australia Sidney Myer Music Bowl 1977
The style of the music at the time that ABBA was famous for doing was called Disco/Dance Music. Also did you know there was an official video for this song that exists on TH-cam.
Thanks Jay absolutely thrilled you listened to this song it was and still is a floor filler in a very big fan of ABBA SUPERGROUP THE BEST GROUP ON THE PLANET. Thanks for you brilliant reaction.
Madonna had to write to Benny and Bjorn to ask permission to sample this song in her songHung Up. ABBA had never been sampled before. They agreed to listen to the song and agreed to let her use it after they heard it.
You hadn't listened to this?? The great thing about ABBA is that they transcended genre. This is a rock song with a heavy disco beat and heavy use of electronics.
Definitely disco. The vocal by Agnetha is one of her best and when Frida joins in, it really takes off. One of their best vocal tracks IMHO. Live at Wembley is good just to see them do this live. Quite difficult to replicate the studio, but the vocals are very strong.
hello and thanks for you reaction "Gimme gimme gimme..." is a disco song that continue the style of "Voulez Vous" album Greatest vocals from Agnetha, specialy in '... no one to hear my pray...." amazing! There's an oficial video with ABBA in studio, but with a few version of only three minutes And the live version in London 1979 included to Frida dancing See you in next videos Try to react: "People need love" (first ABBA song) "Waterloo" live (in Eurovision 1974, when ABBA won) PD: congratulations for your child!
Thanks for the ABBA. This is another song where the Wembley footage is fantastic. Don't know if it's better but seeing Agnetha hold that note on prayer with vibrato to point of perfection is great. Then the bands temo picks up a notch for the Gimme Gimme Gimme and falls back again just as she starts singing again. Tough stuff to pull off. Even get to see Frida do a little solo dance in middle of it all. Great stuff. Benny said you take Swedish Folk, American and British Rock/Pop/Disco then your throw in all that European stuff. You get ABBA, sounds about right to me.
The genre is ABBA! lol. They stand on their own! Picking all sorts of genres in unique blends.. I am glad you picked the version with the bridge. This is a miss in the official version
I mean it sounds like a dumb question and I know it's disco but it really would count more like a electronica/classical/techno i donno. but I know it's disco
Hi Jay another great reaction I love this song It never got released in the US for some reason (I think that was a huge mistake) But ABBA back in the day was considered not cool (I was proud to be not cool LOL) That "Arp Odyssey" part you talked about always reminded me of navigating the High Seas / or Mountain Climbing LOL Love that part also I saw them in their only USA concert and they played this song I went nuts I couldn't wait to get it Did you know Madonna's "Hung Up" samples this song I love that song too lots of Arp Odyssey in that If you do the video it cuts out the funky instrumental part Thanks again for a great review and you kids is so cute Have a great day Bill
Thank you Jaybriel!. But the appointment of odessy harp, and perhaps just an inquiry from the person who wrote these comments, may have been at the time he wrote the most close synthetic stamp he knew. I think benny sought to make his little melodic pattern very dynamic by a work of synthesis of sound that he had to finalize with the knobs of their recording studio with their sound engineer. This pattern is particularly "big."
interesting...ya I'm too young to be familiar with all that stuff and what htey had and what they could do. These days you can basically do anything....on. your phone.
@@jaybrielakoi7747, They were obviously very attentive to the sound and his technique ,avec timbres of the instruments and the timbres of their wives. ‘Una Paloma Blanca’ by George Baker. Give it a spin. It sounds similar to this one in parts. It’s not of the same production caliber, but Its catchier, and was a worldwide smash. It’s also really bizarre.
Could you do reaction to the song "The King Kong song", "Suzy hang around" & "sitting in a palm tree" all from the Waterloo album. Thank you and keep up the good work love all your videos
Interesting that you heard voulez-vous in this song. Maybe you could check out One Night In Bangkok, written by Benny and Bjorn and sung by Murray Head. I swear that I hear Gimme, Gimme, Gimme in the main chorus of that song, though at a slower pace. I think Benny and Bjorn plagiarized themselves on that one.

the genre would be synth classical; I like synth pop, with a disco beat, but this carries too much artifice and bombast for my taste. Try some Goldfrapp...
ABBA did not care about the American market, big mistake, that's why it did not become a legendary group, but it has excellent music, it is well loved in Europe, Asia and South America ... regards
What is a 'GENRE' exactly???? I do not pidgeon hole superb music. Listen to all once and discard the rubbish. Suggestion from a UK 69 year old, to stop you wasting your time.

ABBA cannot be bigeonholed. Their music is so diverse they fit into any mold. What genre is this...? Damn good music. Period
Probably my favorite Abba song. Btw, your baby is too cute!
I love everything about this song. It never gets old. Fantastic song.
it has a great beat and I can totally see not getting old of it.
It's so different from the world you're living in. Best wishes for you and your family. God bless you!
Thanks I appreciate it.
Abba disco'd the 70's and 80's. Lay all your love on me is also disco

I COMPLETELY AGREE
Now you'll have to listen to the Spanish version Dame Dame Dame.

The Wembley live version is awesome. Frida's dance was nice too, and Agnetha was so seductive singing that lol
@@richardhtay I would have rather seen Frida's dance without the editing tricks.
What a coincidence i just finished listening to this and the whole voulez vous album.....as for genre...fits in “Damn Good” genre
that one part seriously sounds like voulez vous
I like the beginning the best.

Try"Move on" or "The way old friends do" by Abba they are fantastic!
Thumbs up for selecting the definitive full version. Do you hear those angelic vocals below the funky instrumental bridge?
Did You notice Madonna's Hung up sample from this song?
"What is this genre?"
Er, it's something we used to call DISCO music. Abba, of course, gave it their own spin. Because genius abd so on.

Eurodisco! Madonna based her Hung Up on it as a homage to abba. Baby likes it!

Genre? Electro-Funk fusion with Disco overtones. Only kidding... the answer to that question is.... ABBA.
This came out during the Disco era. Dance tune.
