Marco T yes, its a simulation, but using numbers based on real world specifications, the numbers don't lie. Roadster top speed is 400+ kph 0-100 1.9 seconds. LaFerrari 0-100 2.95s top speed 372. A real race wouldn't be much different.

A Tesla would never spin out on launch... That would cost the job of 2 many programmers if it did.

In reality, it will be much closer than this as the two cars are closer to the 2s mark for 0-100km/h. But that's irrelevant really, you're comparing a track car with a drag race car. if you want a fast car that can actually put the power down properly around corners and tracks, there's a lot of options for half the money of the Roadster (R8, 911 Turbo, GTR etc etc) without the worry that the car will run out of juice within 3 laps.

The Tesla Roadster's range on a full charge is 620 miles, so for it to run out of battery in 3 laps would mean each lap is 206 miles. Please do your research before saying something like that.

stjernekikkert - Ah petrol! Have you ever heard of high-octane petrol? Any Top Fuel dragster runs on this and can do 0-100 mph in 0.8 seconds! Look it up! I do believe that this will never be achieved by electric vehicles as the kind of battery required to produce sufficient power (assuming that a motor capable of outputting such power as mechanical energy) would be far too heavy. Meaning that power to weight ratio would bring the car’s speed right down.

there's a limiter on the tesla. If the limiter wasn't there the tesla would accelerate so quickly and or the wheels would rotate so fast that the tires would literally explode.

The problem with the Tesla is that you don’t get the WOW that you do from the luxurious body style and V12 engine noise from the Ferrari. With a Tesla roadster you see it and your like oh cool and move on but with that Ferrari you would be thinking about it for a little while, it just feels like the Tesla is missing something especially when you take away the very important feature of a fast car... noise, sure the Tesla’s fast but what is it gonna do against all the hyper cars out there when it hits its top speed, nothing and of course the biggest part of this is the culture of the two brands, you have one brand that has just recently been noticed by all of the 11 year olds out there worshiping Tesla for only about two years now (yes I know tesla has been around for about 15-20 years now) and then you have Ferrari who has put so much time and passion into making their cars desired and fast. Overall the Tesla is just missing something I know there fast but it’s just not visioned as well as other fast car manufacturers have a good day.

Then as much as I would WANT the Ferrari I would be forced to take the Tesla since I could actually daily drive it and there is no way I could afford the insurance let alone maintenance cost of a 1.5 million dollar Laferrari. If I happened to have unlimited access to race track maybe but I don't so... Tesla all day. I doubt I would be disappointed too. 0 - 60 in 1.9 secs and 8.9 sec qtr mile times would be unbeatable just about anywhere. I'd be out Demon hunting on day one lol...
