This, right here is the most beautiful thing that happened in this game! Hats down to all the players that helped us to improve in this game, and hats down to you Hutchler for keeping the memories alive!
Simply awesome video. Credit to all teams who have been involved in the quest for the world record. I'm proud to have been a small part of this incredible timeline with LFN and to have made friends with so many remarkable characters and gamers. As always, the boundaries will keep getting pushed and broken. Iron Horse is no exception. That 15 minute barrier will come crashing down at some point.
This is such an amazing showcase of an often overlooked playerbase in the Division 2 . I really hope you get to cover the Dark Hours raid, this was really fun to watch. Loving your channel mate, you're easily in my top 3 content creators for this game. a man to hold a candle to Marko :)
Amazing video! When you say "They got this run" would be amazing to hear the comms of the teams and hear all the excitement and satisfaction of having beat such a monumental record
It was like a superb podcast on the history of iron horse. With around 40 completions of iron horse, i feel still I am in diapers when guys are wearing boxer shorts. Unbelievable saga. Thanks a ton brother for bringing this info out and tons of thanks for those indefatigable souls who made this speed run history possible. Way to go brother way to go
I’ve just started my journey back into the division! I just hit SHD500. Love to see content like this - you’ve got a great explanation cadence and voice. By far one of the best TH-cam recommendations ever for me.
I was once part of a speed run team on another game and I can say that being the top dog comes with who is smarter and mostly who can find glitches to beat the other team. I remember hour after hour doing runs and trying to put together the best team to make the runs. I did it for half a year and i had to give it up. It became a job more than something fun. I was truly burnt out..lol. I think thats why we i did play the Div 2 I never did the raids.. PTSD probably. lol Cool video, I know that in itself was a lot of work to put it all together.
Haha yeah, speedrunning can get very intense and become a huge time commitment. My mantra, and that of those around me is that it's a video game and should always be fun - as you rightly said, at the point where it becomes a chore you should always take a step back :)
Hutchler, are you working for History Channel?, when that channel was cool for history buffs? Your narration and presentation is out of this world…. You hit Mars with this prime shot!
I started watching this video a while back but it didn't quite make sense to me. After completing my first IH raid last week I can fully appreciate the quality of production of this video.
I'm a new sub. The quality of this video could easily be part of the History channel or several decades ago 60 minutes/BBC. I can only imagine how much work you put into it.
I run a tiny clan, and most days it's just my hubby and I, and I've got several members who haven't played in months or years, and we've never had more than 5 people online at a time, so I've never even done the raids. I could have tried matchmaking, but that's only in discovery mode, and I typically avoid playing with people I don't know. Nevertheless, I have recently attempted to matchmake for the raids, but it never seems to start, and everyone gives up. Anyway, I used to do speed runs, on the NES and SNES, then I just didn't have the time anymore, and mostly lost interest after a time, but I remember the effort, focus, and dedication required, and it's even more intensive and complicated today than it was back then, and my (proverbial) hat's off to The Division 2 speedrunners 💜
Wow, very good video, very good job, a lot of nostalgia comes up in me watching this, what good times we had on this raid, have you thought about doing the same kind of documentary on raid 1?
Great video Hutchler!!! Love to see it.. a nice blast from the past. I miss the XNX DOG and CUP pushes for #1. Will need tk get back it eventually. Any DH history coming???
I fell asleep as soon as I heard her voice. Why so much praise for this video? I took 2 poos today and you don’t see me making a step by step TH-cam video about it.
Aha yeah. But following the community vote that was ruled 'invalid' for times within vroom, at least. The Moro Skip was also ultimately responsible for those 1 min times all over the leaderboard atm too, which is sad
As speedrunners we've grown used to it. Hopefully videos like this will help to showcase how active the small division speedrun community actually is behind the scenes, though - which someday may change that! Thanks very much for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed :)
First, a great thank you for this very accurate summary of the history of this speedrun, it plunged me into a moment of very intense nostalgia, and I am very grateful to you for it. So, if you may, here is a little gift, just to remind you to never say never. Here is a footage of one of our firsts sub 19 run with the Fieser skip by HFR team. Hope you'll enjoy it th-cam.com/video/Fd-po6sdti0/w-d-xo.html
Yeah, it's pretty crazy how powerful nostalgia is. Imagine if everyone would've hid all their strats for years... A video like this would've never been possible.
LOL you implying you lost your fame? :D Really enjoyed the battle to sub-16 with you guys, and the accompanying banter - thanks for your contributions :)
the style and delivery was really good anda somewhat interesting topic however theres quite a few ordinary gamers that see some of this as a negative thing which inevitably brings sanctions from the devs ,lack of interest in engaging with the player base or roll backs? nerfs/ bans etc i dont doubt the dedication of those involved but the manner of these completions is a bit contentious in the same way as the summit fl 10 is not universally approved /dissapproved of , im in a high xbox leaderboard placed clan and opinion is certainly divided amongst us lot one thing was glaringly obvious that magic phrase that should forever be the Divison 2's catchphrase "Not Working as Intended " . i think you should send this round to most of the major gaming studios as an advert for your game testing skills then maybe they wouldnt release such broken ,incomplete glitched buggy -assed trash as they currently do .............sorry outbreak of idealism ,who am i kidding fixing things doesn't generate income in their eyes . if its possible to do a fastest "clean run" eg only using mechanics that work as intended id say do it and claim it as the "real " world record and get Massive to wipe these dodgy run times from the leaderboards for them to argue against it would be like a sports personality trying to say using illegal performance enhancing substances is justifiable and no big thing and would just show the devs up as weak as hell on cheating if anything this is a great expose of what many have believed for some time, something fishy was going with the raid or league speed run times but we didnt have the physical evidence one way or another to prove our suspicions until now that is , so grateful to you sir i now dont feel an inferiority complex that i cant complete Manning zoo in under 2 mins!!
Strategies, even if they use unintended mechanics, are a large part of speedrunning. I am a speedrunner myself, and can tell you that the things covered in this vid aren't 'get rich quick' strats - they're much harder to execute than the 'clean run' strats you suggest. For the reasons you've listed, many games split speedruns into different categories to appease a wider audience. Div doesn't currently, but the category you're referring to with 'clean runs' is called glitchless. Runs in an any% (taking advantage of glitches) are no less valid than glitchless, they just fall into different categories. Dependent on the mission you're referring to and the platform you play on, it's possible that the times you've seen are both legitimate and cheated. If they're console times, they're legitimate - there are no cheats available for console. On PC, it gets a bit blurrier - so the best way to find out the legitimate world record is to visit speedrun.com. Thanks for watching, and I'm glad you enjoyed! :)
@@hutchler thanks for the reply and link , im on xbox so one of the "forgotten people" currently the xbox leaderboard for iron horse shows a top time of 2.43 the top 10 are all sub 10 mins , so given what you explained you have to do to achieve world record times i would consider these times are somewhat suspect. most missions from the leagues or progression leaderboards have times like these . i did see on twitter you had reached out to the Devs maybe an additional item for the shopping list would be to audit the leaderboards and remove these suspect times especially if they cannot be verified by those posting them . the likes of Dod , Dispatch, and yourself are a real counterbalance to the populist div content creators , if the devs ever do another ETF for this title or franchise lets hope you get a seat at the table its a shame theres not many, if any division content creators covering consoles we're not all bad and some of us are even house trained!
There are many different layers to that time, and I can't verify it's legitimacy but I would strongly doubt it, given current WRs. The main thing to know, is that the IH clan leaderboard actually shows DH times, so when they got that time - whether legitimate or not - they did it in DH, not IH
@Hutchler I can see 12 min possibly 10 min but 2min not even on DH you would have to 1 shoting everything and be running with Lady death talent speed for the whole thing I'm gonna call bull until there's proof
@@grgoyal I'm unable to comment on the validity of that specific time, but one thing I would note is that it was posted around the time that there was a famous DPS glitch, and a famous RB trick to make only the 4th boss split count on the leaderboard in-game.
