    The combat lock for PVE sounds absolutely awful. Its been a constant irritation over the years whenever they make changes to address complaints from the PVP crowd (minority of players) to the detriment of the PVE players (solid majority).

    • @varkin794
      @varkin794 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Yeah, I used to run Intimidate/Adrenaline rush combo in PVE but I haven't used it since the nerf.
      I have thousands of hours playing PVE and just a few playing in DZ farming for exclusives. I think the PVP community deserves attention but not to the detriment of PVE community.

    • @sdx3918
      @sdx3918 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Even the PvP crowd didn't ask for this because counterplay has always been the fun part of pvp and when you're rogue you're already at a huge disadvantage anyway. Should've been 3 swaps per player life.

    • @iU9LY
      @iU9LY 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      this isn't a thing stemming from the pvp community it's the pve community that's causing the swap lock. you don't go around getting stacks with the bee an then swapping to a regulus in pvp. This whole gear lock really kills veteran players who know how to counter the stuff in the game and not being able to swap until out of combat is plenty as it is.

      I tested this bullshit in PTS and it really sucks. I play a lot with directives... legendary summit with 10 directives...and this change is a complete bullshit. This change alone will really make me quit the game.

    Is power creep even a real actual problem? Why are we complaining about it? Are we not SUPPOSED to be extremely powerful YEARS into a game's life? Did we not spend years breaking through impossible fights in order to be as skilled as we are to even be able to have gotten ahold of the new god-tier loot by fighting god-tier bosses? I'm sick of the entitlement that elite players have. If you want to play a challenging game, go FIND SOMETHING ELSE. I've sunk years into my life into gaming, I hundred percent big ass open world Rockstar and Ubisoft games like it's nothing, and yet I STILL game on easy mode. My record speaks for itself when I say this ain't skill issue. I do it to keep my time from getting drawn out. I'm a busy man. And as far as PvP goes I honestly DO NOT CARE. So you got gud. Big deal. Move over. I'M the one kicking THIS door down. And if somebody gets mad at me for destroying him and his super custom build with my day one clown gun just as a joke, all I have to say is "HEH HEH! OOPS! SORRY 'BOUT THAT! I THOUGHT YOU WUZ SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD AT THIS!" I'm a completionist. I game for the lore. I hate having to drag it out of a game tooth and nail.

      That’s cool, and the joy of games like this is there are a million and one ‘right’ ways to play them.
      What’s not cool is the way you communicated what you wanted to say. Common respect and treating people kindly isn’t hard, and I feel sorry for you that you view this as such a ‘them against us’ situation. We should all be rallying together to give feedback which will keep the game fun and inclusive for all types of player, without giving any single type preferential treatment.

    • @ChrisMathers3501

      @@hutchler That's just it though. I DON'T get into that us against them shit if I can help it. I game from a position of strength so I don't particularly like going against other players. I can be pretty damn toxic because all I really care about is winning. And NOT for the bragging rights, but for whatever unlockable there is. I do it just TO do it, because I want the cutscene and whatever car, shirt or gun I can get or however much money or points I win.
      I just quit halfway through the Divisions' latest busted ass manhunt. I took down the four targets. I had to repeat the first manhunt because of a glitch. I opened up the primary target. I'm after the recruiter. I blow up the four weak points and draw him out, and I'm still not able to take this guy down. I look at that and I'm just like "WHY IS THE GAME STILL UNPLAYABLE? Why are they making this more of a problem than it needs to be? Why is this not FUN?"

    Game devs are in a no win situation these days. They either please the many or the few and alienate the opposite group at the same time. The current state of Destiny 2 is a perfect example. The community feels that the latest seasonal update nerfs were catered to the 1% who speedrun and do low man raids. The game has become much more difficult now as a result. So the more casual players are the group that is upset now. Sort of the opposite of what The Division 2 is doing. Lose Lose. I would hate to be a game dev

    Outstanding video Hutch, nice work. I too am hanging on by the skin of my teeth in terms of love for this game, and I do love it, it's like nothing else. Im no speed run or pvp hero, just one of the silent masses of unseen long-term players.But it's getting harder to keep motivated to play these days. I think this video will echo the thoughts of many.

  • @Raucey
    @Raucey 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

    Great video, but one small correction. The shd cap on health to 2k is only a nerf to players above 10k shd, since 2k will give the equivalent health that 10k used to. So in effect players like me and you who have thousands of hours played but still haven't bothered to get 10k shd are actually getting a buff to our health.
    What i think your talkimg about is the health gate (I assume) being bugged. I think this was more of an unintended bug than an intentional change, and since it was just a pts where heslth got effected I assume/hope this will be fhxed before the update goes live.

    Now I totally understand both sides of the discussion......I am a OG player of division games. Love these games, but since the division 2 came out and on or around season 2 started. I ve noticed more and more of these slight changes and tweaks that mainly benefit PvP players as a whole and screw over PvE players.......like the most recent one that's annoying to me is the exotics.......ok the EB, Regulus and Ravenous are no longer exclusive to the raids, cool. But, then they get dropped into the DZ. I'm not a PvP player but, gee whiz massive, you need to start putting these exotics into PvE areas like a challenge in the summit or do a tidal basin run on heroic or even DUA or the capitol or Roosevelt island. It feels like they are catering to the TH-camrs and PvP ers.
    Now I know I'm gonna receive flak for saying that from all the players who put on their big boy pants and went into the raids and got em or did PvP and got em. (The big risk, high rewards ppl).
    I understand your side, I do.
    Now they should introduce a vendor that deals with ALL exotics like they did for the first division, say he shows up once a week (like Cassie Mendoza, gunrunner) and said vendor would have say 5 exotics. But, say at a million in the in- game currency or say X amount of premium credits (or something) maybe even the currency you get from duplicate clothing item from the cache keys crate (normal ones) or a combination of the three.
    I have trouble getting into raids, get kicked quite often, so I gave up on it. The incursion (for the oroubourus) is impossible for me. I have great builds but spending months trying to perfect them and then some of my gear gets nerfed to crap (because PvP cries that they can't melt other players to their liking, not all pvp players, just the ones who use hacks and cheats). Makes me lose interest in continuing the build.

    Video games are like politics. Your gona appeal to the bigger group that brings you money just as politicians try to appeal to the bigger voting crowd. The power to be doesn't care about your opinions or thoughts. You cant please everybody , but we do live in a country where we can make videos about our ways of fixing things while we sit at home.

    • @hutchler
      @hutchler  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I agree - and of course you are. It's just a shame that it has to be done in such a binary way; is there not a balance that can be found which appeases both crowds? And why are retention and monetisation mutually exclusive - in games which operate on models like Destiny, they're not - so why are they in Division?
      I intentionally avoided making this a straight proposal of how I think things should be done, and rather a focus on what's wrong, with a call to action for Ubisoft. I'm not a game dev, and I'm not pretending to be, but I can stand as somewhat of a voice for the community and endeavour to communicate problems, for which people with the expertise to do so can find solutions for.

      @hutchler Right on bro!! I dont have the expertise to make videos and comment on everything division. I can speak from my experience that the game doesn't seem to have problems for me. Except when they mess server updates. I see alot of videos of belittling and putting down the people who work on this game. I play games when I have free time and some people make their living off games. I get that these changes make the game feel broken and over powering to you"ll. The majority of the game players dont have the time or skill to play the harder content. These power buffs help us to tackle that content. I would think they could find a middle ground somehow. I am not calling out any creators, I get what there saying. Sometimes you gota see a game from than your just own veiw to understand. We all cant be as good as you huchler, so cut us noobies a little slack and throw us a bone so we can have some fun too. Much love bro, nonthing but respect!!

    Well, I don’t care of the changes. For me the playable content matters. We play the same missions, control points, bounties … from release plus WoNY and seasons are playing the same things as well, except negligible exemptions in manhunt final battles.
    Game devolpment should focus on the playable content of the main game, not modes.
    Rechanging of rewards, talents, attributes, loot inflation … and other technicalities should be side topics if needed at all covering in course of the development over time.
    What’s the sense playing the same missions, bounties … since release but with a rebalanced gun, changed talent … more rewards … fun … new gaming experience … wrong focus in game development since WoNY.

  • @ericclarkva
    @ericclarkva 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Keep in mind he made this video based on changes delivered to a PTS, and not final release. Also realize that this is what every content creator says, every time a large balance pass is proposed and they don't agree with some of the changes. "The sky is falling! They're stabbing us in the back! They don't care about us, only making money!" And yet they inevitably, ALWAYS come back.
    I'm not attacking you. And I'm certainly not being negative because I don't agree with your opinion. But like you, I too have "played this game since Day 1, with thousands of hours put in." And I have seen this type of video made many times by lots of content creators. It's quite frankly pathetic. I'd respect it more if it were a simple video outlining some proposed changes on their way and some options to make the changes better for most players. Instead you call the decision makers at Ubisoft money-hungry backstabbers. Sad and predictable. And it's all wrapped up in a grandiose, almost documentary styled video. Perhaps because those videos garner more views? I would never begrudge you the desire to get more views and grow your channel. And yet you begrudge a AAA gaming publisher a similar desire????

    • @hutchler
      @hutchler  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I understand your POV, but based on other PTS contents vs live deployment, at least some, if not the majority of these changes will hit the game in a largely unchanged way. PTS feedback has never felt like it’s had an influence on the actual patch contents.
      Re: the views comment, it’s totally incorrect. Nothing on this channel has been created with views, personal gain etc in mind - which is why I post only when there’s something I want to post. If views were the focus, the channel would be daily, lazy, news updates and clickbaited off meta builds.
      This is the first time in 3 years on TH-cam I’m saying something even remotely negative about the game, because it’s the first time I’ve felt remotely negative about the game.
      And yes - I say clearly at the end that I probably will continue playing the game for an indefinite period of time. It’s a one of a kind game with so much potential, and I don’t think that sentiment should be a point for consideration in whether I can or cannot post a TH-cam video conveying my thoughts.

  • @defecationzen
    @defecationzen 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    my take is slightly different. i think it's right to point out that long term fans and new players have different motivations to play the game. for the long term fans, the only thing that will stop the game from being stale is to release new content or new equipment. i think they want to push back the new content to as far back as possible before they maneuver to the division 3, to squeeze what they can with each iteration.
    as for new equipment, i think the proposed adjustments are just that - giving us 'new' equipment to play around and experiment with in the existing world content, without actually giving us new equipment or new world content. for example, i can see old and returning players going back to farm for the eagle bearer if they have not already had it, and also trying it out in new builds that are suddenly made viable due to the many channels of power creep from the many directions of adjustments.
    sure, some old players will find this unmotivating because the staleness comes from the lack of content, but i can also see how this is the only move to keep the existing content fresh and fun for all players.

  • @EchoDoctrine
    @EchoDoctrine 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Power creep is fun, being OP is fun and getting lots of loot in a looter shooter is fun, its a smart decision by devs to attract new and attract MORE players.
    BUT everyone has their own opinions, personally I don’t get bored in games when i am OP and I personally quit games that are too challenging and not rewarding. But everyone is different
    Maybe the “hard core” will all hate these changes and say its too easy and all leave BUT a massive wave of causals & dads with less time will flood in and spend money. So see ya hardcore demanders ✌️
    Seems hardcore always asks for harder stuff with exclusives only they can get so they have bragging rights and feel “special” in the games they play (maybe because they are loser nobodies in real life) meanwhile the casuals have lives and just wanna have fun & shoot things with huge explosions in their free time gaming.
    Maybe. Anyway. These changes all sound great to me. 😂 lets see how it goes.

    • @hutchler
      @hutchler  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ah, yes - a strong example of the 'I don't have much to back up my baseless claim with, so I'm going to resort to personal insults' mindset.
      Can't quite believe I need to justify this, but for the record I am a 25 year old with many RL friends, a busy full time job and plenty of things going for me - and I couldn't care less whether I feel special in games or not. Exclusives for pinnacle content aren't requested to feel special, they're demanded because they incentivise completion and persistence through the hard content, which makes overcoming the challenge all that more rewarding.
      I'm not asking for harder stuff; I'm asking for the game to be slightly toned down to the level it was a year ago.
      Tbh your attitude towards this absolutely sucks, not because of your standpoint, but because of the insulting and belittling way you pose it. Surely you can't really believe that there's this huge separation, and anyone who's got more time than you is immediately a "loser nobody"?

    • @EchoDoctrine
      @EchoDoctrine 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@hutchler you might wanna Re-Read what I wrote. I did not personally insult you. I said multiple times “my opinion” i said “”MAYBE” these hardcore players are losers IRL” (was not directed at you, but the hardcore group in general terms, who knows, not my call why someone demands harder video games).
      These are games, everyone has different reasons to play. I would still bet psychologists would love to interview the player mentality that demands harder and harder content, exclusive rewards for just them to acquire and compare to their accomplishments in real life. I would be fascinated by result.
      My main point was “wait and see”. Maybe these changes lower player base OR maybe it brings MORE players in. Not a clue. Time will tell.
      But I’m sure the content creators that have used their platforms for years to request changes will continue to do so. Out of curiosity did all the changes the content creators asked for get implemented, and is that why game lost players?
      Lets see how this update plays out.

    Let's face it. The primary factor is 'lucrative focus'. And it should be. Within that goal you maximize game innovation and long-term gamer devotion. But when a game is in it's 5th year, the original idea is less relevant and the future idea should be the focus. eg. Div 3. That will be the major money maker. So what is the "franchise" Ubisoft considers ? IMO it took Ubisoft less than 12 months of Div1 in gamer hands to decide Div2 was a target. When influenced by a changing industry 3 years later, they diversified to Resurgence, Heartland, XDefiant . I expect these are meant as alternatives to keep franchise gamers engaged meanwhile. Indeed, because these three are simpler games, modifications are less costly. And while Ubi focusses on Frontiers and Outlaws support over the next 12 months. Ultimately, without the surge in cash from increased playerbase , what is the point ? We are customers, but less like automotive customers and more like insurance customers. The "I bought this game so I have a say" is childish imo, nevertheless thats why there is a community manager - partly to placate/engage such individuals. While I am not saying I disagree with Hutchler, I also recognize he's both publicizing this for public benefits and benefit, and also to inform. Being so soon on the heels of the PTS, that says no he probably didn't engage Ubisoft directly first and is seeking to influence the developers. This has happened before from other players, in Division, in Recon. Its a dispute over gamer 'religion', inspiring a William Wallace or Robert the Bruce feeling. The same feeling that led to Brexit . And we know how that worked out . There are always consequences . I'm just not sure this is the right battle or axe.

    • @hutchler
      @hutchler  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Fair points, and I agree - it should always be a business, but it should also give at least some thought to the entertainment value/creative contribution.
      In terms of ubisoft engagement, I’ve tried on numerous occasions to open a communication channel to no avail. Myself and creators much more influential than me have offered to sign NDAs and provide as much granular feedback to the team as they want to hear - but alas, no response.

    • @timmigrant6597
      @timmigrant6597 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@hutchler I understand. It's hard talking into the void. Your efforts are appreciated, and your measure balanced. I wouldn't read anything negative into a lack of response to you. Some others with less facility & objectivity but more observable emotion have been given such access, but eventually revealed inability to comply with the terms of both NDA and simple business etiquette, so I'm guessing a combination of want & need vs benefits determines their decisions. When/whether they make such a consideration/ decision is in a different realm.

    Make the enemies smarter and harder to kill like it was in Division1... Come out with new DLC like large one with new story. Were burn out on hunters being this great threat they ain't shit... civilians who got captured. The game to me is an ''arcade game'' not up to date with graphics, story, or even tactics? Like so many other games... So unrealistic it's boring cause it's repetitive, casual, predictive grind... even when you grind to get some Dopamine - The (good & bad) habit former. An incredible tool when used appropriately!
    Oxytocin - The hugging drug or “love hormone.” Oxytocin makes us social and builds relationships with trust and loving feelings.
    Serotonin - The “leadership hormone.” Heavily related to pride, loyalty, and status.
    Endorphins - The natural painkiller. The runner’s high! lol cause game is a pain in the ass... when playing with people that are no good. Everyone is out for their own path... lost exotic, a quest, a boss, a level, then once achieved... stop playing. The next game needs to blow people's minds. Better graphics yes there's a lot of detail.. but this game is just old... still update it.. I've said it before UBISOFT is spread to thin too many projects at once... why they can't focus on just this title... all about $$$ spend 10$ on a mask then spend another 30 on a skin... but earn the exotic SMG that honestly isn't that good outside of the mission it's made for... I remember when Skill builds were deadly across the board. before gear 2.0 it was different... cheaters... in the DZ.. the DZ is so small crowded... They need a DZ or zone that is a prison to some nasty monsters or survival type game to where it's dusty freezing hurricane or just fire everywhere Anyone remember old DZ Div 1 where the subways had toxic gas you had to kill the boss and get out or you died nothing anyone could do.. then extract or die. There was also a glitch in Div 1 you could have 8 guys on same team just own the DZ... so much fun. Division 2 is a downgrade...

    (I play exclusively PVE)
    WAIT A HOT SECOND!?
    I thought not changing loadout meant during combat meant, the literal preset loadout you make for different builds so I wasn’t upset bc I don’t ever switch those mid combat anyway! BUT what I do almost every single engagement with enemies is switch my skills & weapons on the fly as quick as possible not to get insta-merked on heroic & legendary!!
    I always think to myself teammates must think I’m crazy by how often they see my skills changing mid combat 😂 weapons & armor are essentially the same thing, just changed less often lol I really enjoy that aspect of changing on the fly 👏 it’s lets me be that perfectionist teammate whos able to quickly compensates for what enemies end of spawning in the box! I feel like this can’t be right 🧐 no way they would implement that feature in a game thats basis of success is its “looter-shooter” multiple building making mayhem of a monster!!! Come on Massive 🤨 are you serious?

    That build lock in missions will drive away a lot of players, who will uninstall the game and never look back.
    Personal i will go back and play from time to time Division 1, even tho is a ghost town game now with few players left.
    But if many like me will quit Div2 and go back to Div1 we could have again fun in that one.
    So many miss changes that will been more useful:
    - better stability and dmg for semi-auto sniper rifles [yeah that MK20 looks cool, but no player is using it] more ammo in pool, as is a group in between SR and Rifles....so if you need more bullets to kill than a SR than give us more, or up the dmg...or both..
    - some pistols need better dmg and stability [that 93R is awful, no one is using one, is useless]
    - armor should be able to be equal with the dmg...i run with 1.8 and enemies are striping down like i was having 1.1 or all red, there is no difference.
    - hazard protection need to work as is suppose to work, in between 0 and 99 is no much difference...you need to have 100%...and stop making hazard elements scripted so we can't use our hazard protection builds [in Keener end mission, he can jamm you even if you have 100% resist...??!!!]
    Ubisoft is so greedy, they want another Black Flag and their making that Skull game [that no one ask for] that will sink at the bottom of the sea...that Siege is getting worst and worst with each update [it will never be as fun as R6V2]... Extraction is dead...

As the DZ goes,... cant farm solo, and i NEVER get an exotic to drop. So i guess im SOL! Haha great vid though.

    I pvp'd all the time in D1, in D2 it was awful and rarely went in the DZ. D2 went wrong when they made the ability to be extremely OP for their toughest content. When I can skill build almost every Legendary level stronghold, that's a pointless game. If I wanted to be that OP I'd just play a level lower.

    The ending message is really weird: "For some people its the only reason to get out of bed in the morning" "the long term players you've stabbed in the back" There's nothing wrong with criticizing the game but this is melodramatic, those individuals need to get a life, badly. I'm not saying that in a disrespectful way, I mean it as a wake up call. I genuinely worry for someone who would write that ending letter you wrote. Most things in life are not this serious, especially a game.

    Using striker set and at the same time complaining about its more powerful than others.😂 And they should nerf 24% weapon damage for expertise level of a weapon. Lot of damage coming from that 24% extra damage plus Yanick said in that live project resolve update they are buffing those weapon and gear which players generally do not use so it will give more option to a player which is a good thing. Plus new weapons like st elmo and others which are problematic because they are more powerful than others. Devs also did not test any weapon or gear before release I think thats why newer stuff is broken overpower than old gears.

    Hi, a few weeks on from this masterpiece, (should get an award for documentary film making !) .the Devs have responded , i get the feeling you may be disappointed too , im actually somewhat bemused as well nerfs to scorpio and regulus in the DZ ?? i dont think ive been taken out by these ever in pvp - Lady death in the back yes -famas m870 yes and the new toys elmo and oro-ble yes plenty .
    my initial thoughts are we could end up with something worse than was originally planned by some margin some sort of watered down halfway house pleasing neither camp and fundamentally failing to achieve the verbal and written reasons the devs have made for embarking on Resolve in the first place .
    maybe we should just petition them to do cosmetic vanity items from now on with all the recent practise theyve had they must be good at it by now .

    As someone who has 1100 shade levels, and 1000's of hours in Destiny, I know they are different games, but they are basically one and the same. I can appreciate both sides of the same coin. I can understand the message and apply it to both games and try to understand it as well as someone who has thousands of hours in the Division. I can attempt to realize that there are issues in this game, and numerous bugs, that need to be fixed. I was under the impression that this was the case with project resolve these bugs and issues were getting fixed, but I can see that I was wrong. Hearing the things that I am hearing from players with shade levels in the 10s of thousands I can see why they are leaving and why I was wrong about project resolve. However, those very same people are going to find ways to break the game even more and to find a way to one-shot things that shouldn't be one-shot.
    Sorry for the rant but as someone passionate about both games, I felt like this needed to be said, because I feel it applies to both games both the Division and Destiny.

    the health cap is for pvp to combat the glitchers and exploiters running around with 500k shd...i agree with most of what you said but my biggest problem comes down to the current corporate direction of the game where everything is being monetized and the only thing we get for investing our time is a convoluted story that flips back and forth. When they do have stuff like apparel events, they don't always work so you're left grinding levels for nothing and forced to buy them when the event runs out. More often than not though, these apparel events are underwhelming so buying them is a complete waste of money. Which brings me to the latest apparel item, the recruiter outfit, which is literally the first item in a long time that could drive people to grind for but alas its only purchasable with scam credits. This shows me they're no longer interested in engaging with the community but would rather just grift the diminishing hard core players and whales, ie content creators.

    Sorry rather late to the party on this video and whilst I do agree largely with what you are saying you are not offering any sort of alternative to Ubisoft. You are essentially saying please stop this when as you have mentioned they are trying to make money, money they need to keep the development efforts up and make new content (whether that is content or changes you/we like is up for debate). The community gets outraged when ubisoft does a cash grab for the hunter outfit which is fair enough given the price, if the price is lower I am fully on board with funding through cosmetics if it leads to them having a better budget to produce better seasonal content. I am unsure of what the best solution is for power creep, in a game were doing damage is a key objective, those items which provide the best optimized strategy for that are doing to rise to the top quickly. With regards to the PTS comments, I think we could see some large changes coming if the devs are listening. They introduced the SHD cap and load out switching to address issues in the game. They unfortunately fixed the issue too broadly and it is impacting other aspects. I imagine they will look to address the issue in a better way that will have less impact to other aspects of the game.

    this has to be one of the best pieces of content on the state of the game , the legend that was Marcostyles put out a piece recently and this ties nicely in with that to express the fairly wide sense of dissatisfaction with the direction of the game from what was originally promised with D1 to where we are now with D2.
    Power creep is certainly not a new thing regulus / nemesis /Scorpio / arguably Capacitor and Eclipse and latest iteration of Striker sets and hotshots determined have all contributed to this to im not sure if these are the result of poor balancing to get round lazy mega spamming content or some crumbs to keep players happy amidst the content drought .
    The incursion has shown that if you create engaging worth wile content you will have customers , none of us would mind paying for future content like this. Continue to turn out uninspiring delayed buggy garbage like Summit Descent etc as well as cancelling/postponing much awaited content , 3rd raid project nightmare etc and you might as well give the franchise a "Regulus one shot" to the head.

    I see what you’re saying, but power creep is just something that has to be accepted whenever a game hits a certain amount of content. I remember when I was an avid Warframe player and the Tigris Prime was the BEST weapon, and now it’s left in the dust replaced by far newer weapons. It’s still a good weapon, but it’s far from optimal or the best. Nerfs are not the way to fix it. Seeing nerfs in a PvE game is literally just the WORST. A weapon or talent that was fun to use just becomes “undesirable” for the sake of maintaining difficulty. I think a better way of maintaining difficulty would be adding additional permanent directives for those who still want their difficult PvE content. Damage caps, an option to increase enemy health/damage by up to a certain amount, or increase a certain enemy type spawn etc. I just personally think that if you’re nerfing things in a PvE game, you’ve gone wrong somewhere (except for obviously gamebreaking things that instantly room clear). You should be looking at the environment and enemies, not the player’s kit. I guess this is more of an issue of almost every non-raid/non-incursion piece of content is purely just dps checks, I think the enemy archetypes are well overdue for a rework. Too many are them are just basic enemies with a gadget/grenade/flamethrower.

    • @EchoDoctrine
      @EchoDoctrine 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great take, i agree. PvE nerfs suck, I personally play games for the fun not challenges. I can go to my IRL job for challenge but my downtime i enjoy fun and power fantasy. Power creep is gonna happen, if a very small group of insane hardcore players want some dumb challenge add an optional silly challenge mode none of them can actually beat and watch them all keep logging in for years attempting it everyday like rats on a treadmill.

    Interesting for sure! I can see your point on how adding the gearlock at this point in the games lifecycle feels/is wrong (depending on your pov), but I can also (sort of) see why it was added/trialed in the pts as a possible counter to pvp cheese plays or trying to slow down speed runners or those who are wanting to say solo content that was meant to be played as a group whilst I also get the desire & sentiment of those skilled enough to be able to do this for the challenge it presents!
    Power creep is an issue too, I don’t want the game to end up so easy (on the harder difficulties) that all or most of the content becomes trivialised as we become so powerful, I personally think that heroic is bloody tricky & at times frustrating, & not as easy as some make it out to be.
    I’m personally at this point not that
    bothered about lots of extra weapons and gear and am more “sticking around” to see where they’re taking the story/ what’s next and to some degree being a bit of a “completionist” I guess you’d call it, even though I’ll never fully complete it - I know that.

      I agree with what you are saying, however the PVP players and the speedrunners are going to find a way around the gear-lock, there are already some lesser-known TH-camrs making build videos about it, and with the whole difficulty on heroic, I personally think there needs to be more challenge, as I run 3 piece hotshot with perfect headhunter and bloodsucker and can one shot almost everything (bosses and chungas being the only thing I can't) even without any event buffs, and have mass amounts of bonus armor. This is my take so please take it with a grain of salt.

    This game is amazing and has a huge number of players, and there may be the devs team undoing. Every one of us has our own POVs , needs, and wants from the game. Now multiply that by the thousands. How does one fulfil each and everyone's desires? By no way am I supporting the devs team medíocre decisions, but this I think is the biggest noose around their neck. And therefore, it leads them to these decisions to try and buy more time and keep the community pleased.
    On the other hand, would it be risky to put out content , lose a number of players, and those who are die-hard fans of the game stay? Let's say that this process is filtering. So those who do remain perhaps could get better content , new content.
    I really hope the devs get their act together. Peace!
    And also , great great video! Cheers.

    I remember when on day 1 when walking across the street could get you killed. I want the challenge, I miss the challenge. I hope that they will reevaluate these choices and look into bringing other weapons with in a few points of each other not just raise everything up to the sky. (I do wanna roll dtoc on my regulas tho not gonna lie😅)
    Edit: also I love the idea of large weapon handling buffs for the rifles and semi auto MMRs. I would love to use a mk20 or a g28 as a rifle with headshot damage because I can throw in headshot damage but getting enough crit chance to make the crit damage on rifles even work is a pain. And it's hard to have utility/crit chance/crit damage all at the same time but throw in headshot and you could get some work in!

    The "just buff everything" take to me should always be used a last resort change when all else fails. Imo The global event buffs should've been enough to keep and maintain that power fantasy without trivializing the base games power level and brands set should have some bonuses changed instead of just increasing values.

    They don’t care about this video 😂 sad to say but it’s not even gonna reach there desk. Unless you’re a big money contributor to the companies revenue this isn’t going to change a thing.

    here is problem with what u said about health. this was changed for those glitchers in pvp that have like ove 100,000 shd level and 3 million health. Now everyone health is even. called be need to adapt or not play the game.

    Sometimes, along comes someone who breaks it all down. Simply. Precise. Accurately. And very correct. Very well done, Hutch!

    for the gear lock its a problem that revolves aroudn pvp and maybe the no regen firective i think since you can get armo back between encounters by switching loadouts/items and the pvp reason most people should know why. and imo they dont know how to fix any of these "problems" so they go the easy route by just locking stuff. if only 200 people of the game are speedrunners or something like that and they lose them because of the gear lock they dont care and keep the change since new players dont need to change gear for most encounters. just my take on that

    How do we go about having Ubisoft take notice of this and realize that this is not just a single player who feels this way. The video captures my own feelings about the game to the letter.
