Very nice (and interesting) I have a E-cajon (from Meinl) but it's just a build in mic. and a bass/treble/volume adjustment, and a jack output.. that's all..
version 2 needs to have user sample loading and more kits roland tm2, new perc pads and the tm6 all have user sample loading..it's a trend i can see spreading everywhere in their percussion section
Nice video its just fun to watch and hear how you say “cajon”. You need to see how peruvians play a cajon like it should be played. Anyway good video. 🤘🏻
Hi Justin! Been subscribed for awhile and was wondering if you have ever reviewed the Yamaha DD65 Electronic drum machine? I would love to see this unit reviewed if you can find one still? Thank you and keep them videos coming!
Why not just buy a Korg wavedrum? I was forced to get into cajones, simply because locally the demand for loud bands has all the dried up. Locally, I find myself doing more and more local acoustic gigs. Sometimes, often, there’s not even enough stage space to set up my Roland TD 30, so I show up using a combination of my Korg “wavedrum” and my Zendrum (look it up if you are unaware of it). Solves the problem.
65 Drums. I have a related (somewhat) question. I have a set of Bata-cajons (made by Valter Percussion) which have piezo triggers on each of the six heads, mounted on the underside of each head. One of the heads has developed a fault where it triggers randomly even when no other head(s) are being played, and nothing else is touched. So it's not a cross-talk issue. Usually it triggers off in very quick bursts of the particular sample that is assigned to that head. The triggers go straight into a Roland SPD-SX (I'm using triggers on 4 heads, which is the maximum I can use through the SPD-SX). I've tried to do some research online but haven't found much. Do you have any knowledge about this issue, i.e. whether or not it's a common one? Any info would be much appreciated.
Hahaha I was thinking the same thing. The two that are local to me are usually disgustingly dirty. I thought it was just mine. Wonder if they have district managers that actually visit their stores.
You are right, this Cajon only fits a very small group of people. I played it at GC and was not impressed with it. I did not like the resonance when used without the electronic. As you said very light built. I have a Kofp Percussion Cajon (made in Georgia, USA) that is of excellent quality. For those who would like to mic the cajon or improve sound quality Kofp offer a 1/4" mono Internal Cajon Microphone system for $99.99 that works great with PA or Drum Amp www.kopfpercussion.com/internal-microphone-system/ also one can use the CajonPort $39.99 that fits into the hole of the Cajon to enhance the soundquality of the cajon www.kopfpercussion.com/cajonport/. Both are very easy to install.
Great video! I actually have one of these things that I bought knowing it would be mostly a novelty. And that's pretty much all it is. It's a super cool functional decoration and conversation piece. I'd like to think I'd be using it for acoustic jamming but I don't do that very often. If I could go back in time I would have just bought a regular cajon for $100 and it would be basically the same thing for my purposes. Who is gonna use the electronic sounds on this thing anyways? It's great that it has real percussion sounds though because that does make it a lot better, performance-wise, than a regular cajon. But 400$??!! That's absurd and they need to come down on the price. I honestly feel stupid for buying it. Don't buy this unless you're a serious professional cajonest, if that's a word.
My personal opinion, I would never waste $400 on that. I would go out and get a bunch of 5 gallon buckets before I ever bought that. The fact that somebody would play that for pleasure just depresses the hell out of me. Just my .02
Great vid. Looks cool, and some interesting sounds, but pricey (as always from Roland). But given that guitarists will pay up to $2k for a certain overdrive pedal, perhaps not ... :P
I gotta laugh at this a: CAJON for $400. In Cuba we used cajones cause we didn't have anything else we could bang that had a "bottom" to it. So used whatever we found in the garbage. Oh BTW .. it is pronounced KHAHON . (HARD "A" as in "Ambient" The way people in the USA pronounce it , you are referring to is as "TESTICLE" . It's ok though . You gotta hear how WE pronounce "Practice pad" $400 uh ... I gotta email Cuba.
I‘ll contact Toontrack to create something like „Superior Cayon“ 🤔😂
love it hahaha
Thanks for the consistent uploads my man 👍
i played the td50 at a music store earlier this week and it was fukin amazing

That's really cool. I think it's a tad bit pricey, but really interesting. My favorite sounds were the "Cajon" sounds. I like it.
version 2 needs to have user sample loading and more kits roland tm2, new perc pads and the tm6 all have user sample loading..it's a trend i can see spreading everywhere in their percussion section
btw i've just ordered a yamaha dtx multi 12 pad thingy..i'll let you know how i get on with it once it turns up!
Justin as always good stuff thanks for the update seems like the money could be better spent on more Percussionist instruments
I would have to agree
This is cool.
4:12 is my fav patch.
Also.
Superior Cajon needs to exist.

Going to send you a picture of my hybrid set up!
This is perfect for street performance
It would be really interesting for that
Yup, I have seen people playing Cajons in New York City at Washington Square Park and in the subway.
street performancers should be shot on sight
@@jezusmylord yup.
They are weird
„Superior Cayon“ exactly!

Sound out put will not let you control the volume it’s one level full blast , I wouldn’t waist my money on this if I could go back in time
is it possible to record electronic drums into sony vegas pro 14?
DO THEY EVER VACUUM GUITAR CENTER!?!
Apparently not
Hahaha I was thinking the same thing. The two that are local to me are usually disgustingly dirty. I thought it was just mine. Wonder if they have district managers that actually visit their stores.
Probably should have come out with the Hybrid Conga first.

I missed flamenco music there... xD
The band didn't show up on time, so I had to play alone ;)

Yeah it's all in how you look at it. Not a good product for me, but I enjoyed playing it
something different!

Huevos Cajones.........
I think this is really really odd.
It is kinda weird
