that Karthus is insane, man I wish season 6 Karthus was this strong, I managed to make my Karthus LVL 6 Mastery even with more than 5 deaths every game, Karthus ult damage back then was dealing maximum damage of 900-1k AP even on late game despite using any build. Today, as you can see, bro is dealing 1200 damage along with 100+ True damage

Nashors gives an extra 20% AP ratio. That's +160 base damage on the auto. If Shadowflame has 10 MP, you need 1600 damage for it even to be comparable. Sometimes you'll get the 20 pen, but then again nashors has the flat on-hit damage to consider. I think it's close, but in general you probably get more out of nashors? Shadowflame will give extra pen to your Q that nashors won't help at all though so maybe that's worth considering

I did the math and tested it out, so the MR breakpoint I talked about is accurate with the build he had at the time. Shadowflame is pretty much strictly better for TF if you're playing the game normally. Also, the math with penetration gets kind of wonky and isn't necessarily intuitive at a glance. Getting 10 flat pen doesn't increase your damage by 10% against that target. It negates 10 resistance, so you're removing a 10% effective HP increase against the type of damage you're doing. In other words, you divide their EHP by 1.1. How much increased damage that actually equates to depends on how much resistance they have already and is only 10% increased damage if your target has exactly 10 resists. If they had 100, your damage is only increased by about 5.26%, and if they had 200 it's about 3.45%. Get up to 1k resists and 10 pen is down to a less than 1% increase in damage. All that's also why stacking pen is so good. Each additional point of pen makes all the pen you already have that much more effective, up until you match your target's resistance value. Edit: Wow. Day 1 of asking for AD Soraka too I played this recently and decimated melee tops with a kraken slayer full crit build. Depending on situation you can decide on Quickblades or IE. This build only failed me into Cho’gath because he was able to get an early lead with ganks.
