A typical feeding session for the local meat eating wildlife.
Freddie (as in Mercury) is so called as he sings a lot.
Magpies sing better than Crikey the kookaburra's Call.
I am feeding them small pieces of steak, they love it.

@@robman2095 funny thing you say that .. I just went and checked what their call is ... realised I grew up hearing them all the time and they're still always singing at the olds place aling with the pies.
I do like the butcher bird song and the burrakooka (intentended) but I've always loved the magpie the most.
I'm getting a laugh right now ... listening to the butcher bird on youtube and the mrs cat is running around frizzed up looking for the bird lol.

I often think about the people who bought my Nan’s house for this reason. Everyday at 5pm a shit ton of birds would turn up for their free feed. It was like a scene from a horror movie if you never experienced it before. She lived in that house for 30 yrs and feed them everyday for generations of birds. The new home owners would have got the shock of their lives. It makes me laugh just thinking about it.

Feed the magpies and they leave you alone. Even when I'm riding my motorcycle with my helmet on. They just seem to know your friendly,or atleast an asset. I watch the rest of the neighbourhood get swooped and have a chuckle when it happens. I had 15 magpie's at rydlemere in Sydney eating ALDI corn chips "el toro's". They seem to like that more than beef mince.

Youre so lucky you have these beautiful birds with you. I have a couple of Magpies that i befriended. They were totally wild when I first met them 9 years ago. Now they come as they please, even in my family room where a small dish with grain, bread, chicken and some biscuits they can choose from. And they sing. Beautiful little friends.

I have a couple magpies in my street that we can hand feed, and it makes things better during swooping season because they recognise us and don’t swoop

I used to have a great relationship with the magpies near me. Used to come and neast annually in my trees. Then new neighbours brought cats into the area and I found a baby in pieces all over my yard... No more magpies. :'(

I like the ole magpie, they're a very confident bird and will compete boldly where they are placed in a position where they need to. The cookaburras are very cool and calm though, they know here where it's at. I find it all very interesting to observe 👍
