It's worth a trip to London just to go there... my favourite bookshop and by far the most dangerous! I'm not sure if it's a blessing or a curse that their website isn't an online shop anymore!
Loved seeing the THE GREAT GOD PAN by Machen there behind glass. I published that one under my Arcane Wisdom imprint back when I was teaming up with S.J. Joshi on some Weird Tales projects. It was a great project by one of my favorite authors. Fond memories indeed.
Stopping back here to give an update...I may have mentioned a friend of mine was going to London in November. @@FoolishFishBooks No not very much at all, though it used to have the best plastic bag with a gold Watkins hieroglyph on a green background. It looked awesome, the new paper bag isn't bad though. They also didn't have a loyalty card then, so I really appreciate the current loyalty card.
Bibliopornographica. How many years of searching until finally in a dream, I was presented with the Book of the Self. The Magus placed an ancient hand upon the volume and warned me, 'Beware, because if you open this volume, it cannot be closed again, and every page you look upon will bring more suffering to you.' Do you still wish to see? Yes, like the Book, was I not bound to see? The frontspiece was a most intricately bordered, old and masterfully engraved portrait of ME. The ensuing pages ever more menacing to behold. My sufferings indeed increase with every passing year. For is it not written? 'With much Knowledge cometh much Sorrow.' I bow my head to you fellow Pilgrim, the path awaits those who seek. The greatest truths are already inscribed upon the innermost heart of the inner man. We read only to confirm that we are not alone on the solitary path.
This is my favourite shop.i took my 8yr old granddaughter and she sat on the floor reading from the children's selection absolutely enjoyed herself looking at the Crystal's and came away with a small set of fairy cards.
