Nah! With 1.3 million, I’d buy a 800k house, a GT3 Porsche, and A Lange & Sohne Timezone to go with the suits, and a Rolex DSSD for daily wear and I would still have some spare change left to have some good time with the ladies!
Meanwhile, Tag Heuer is selling a tourbillon for $13k, and Zenith is selling a GYRO tourbillon for $100k and a DOUBLE tourbillon for $113K.
The pricing of this watch is pretty justifiable compared to watches like Rolex, Hublot, and most big brand watches. Greubel Forsey has 100 employees just to produce 100 watches annually, so to sustain they need to set a very high price tag. Accordingly, the finishing is exceptionally good and it surpasses most brands in terms of quality.
Chinese make copy of this ,and price will be around $80 US

Whilst the piece is complicated, and I understand what has gone into making such a piece. I just couldn't justify the cost, as it won't make me any more happier than a watch that is way cheaper.

No watch would make me happier than a Greubel Forsey Double Balancier though. Although, maybe not. Because I wouldn't be able to wear it everyday... an H. Mosier & Cie Small Seconds maybe? That one's also borderline too expensive to wear everyday... so maybe a Zenith Ultra Thin Elite is the one that'd make me the happiest.... na I guess it's the H. Mosier & Cie. Nothings more beautiful than the Greubel Forsey Double Balancier though.

The more complicated a watch the more that can go wrong with it. I'll stick with Seiko, nice watch, nice price.
Complications and precision in a purely mechanical machine is why we buy mechanical watches in the first place and not quartz; you don't buy a mechanical watch just to tell the time.

I imagine because it's a demonstration of the pinnacle of mechanical design and build virtuosity - and of course as a way to show off how rich you are. Obviously if you want to tell time well, a $5 quartz Timex will still be more accurate

Trust me, until you've seen a GF up close and tried one on, you will never understand truly how special they are. The Patek Grandmaster is very very special, but it's a bit of a brute. GF however are the exquisite execution of extreme complexity, but carried out in an a very visually stunning and simple way. And they finishing of a GF is literally second to no one. One of these would make a Patek Blush!!
I think they are two different style, GF is more like roger dubuis or Hublot skeleton design, patek is just true timeless classic design. I still think 1.3 m is too overpriced just for it's design. Patek grandmaster chim is the most complicated wrist watch, this GF does look stunning but I think it is fair for 100k-250k top. of course it is just my opinion, I do believe 50 years later the grandmaster chim will sell over 10 million and this GF or some hublot will be lucky if it holds the value.
Oh completely! Patek will always be Patek. It will always hold value. Greubel Forseys are very contemporary, but trust me they are in a COMPLETELY different league to every other modern brand. I assure you that they will increase in value. Think of it more like a Damien Hurst piece. I promise you!

The only comparable brand is RM and that is a totally different style of watch. Possibly Kari Voutilainen or Vacheron Constantin are better contenders.

+Jeffrey Lee This is the dumbest thing that has ever been said about a watch; plenty of different high end companies can mill a block of sapphire for a case, that's not a copy anymore than another company using Titanium, carbon or ceramic. To compare a Hublot movement to a Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon is just silly.
