Apple has sold millions of MacBooks with thrice the power of the adreno GPUs on X Elite laptops yet developers aren't flocking to build ARM games for MacBooks. They aren't going to do so for X Elite. Even without emulation, on android, the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 pulls close to 12W when heavy gaming. That's 3W less than a steam Deck.
millions? anything older than the M3 has a weaker gpu. Pros and Max variants are probably 5-10% of the sales. macOS had no games with intel too, it has nothing to do with arm. they arent even comparable and you dont know what youre talking about.
@@nomeduele0 Bruh, the adreno gpu on the X Elite isn't much faster than the M1... What are you also talking about bringing the M3 into this. The M3 has probably already sold 5 times what the X Elite will sell. And devs won't even bother with it. Plus this conversation was 4 weeks ago before AMD unleashed even better performance per watt... Plus we know the power draw of the X Elites now...

Ffs, The M1 gets similar gaming performance as the X Elite via Parallel/Crossover. And that's an old SOC. We are on the M4 albeit it's not on Macbooks yet. Ipads have one.
The consumption of ARM and x86 mobile is not that far apart, but in the tests they clearly perform worse than ARM in battery life. I came to the conclusion that perhaps the problem is what is needed for an x86 CPU to work, in this case the motherboard. But Intel and AMD are very close to the efficiency of ARM and they have a lot of compatibility and performance power, so when they achieve this efficiency it will be difficult for ARM to compete in desktops and notebooks, who knows one day we will see Intel and AMD strong in smartphones too.

good luck playing in airplane, or any place with bad internet connection. We are not there yet to have a seamless cloud gaming outside of home
