If you’re older guillotine is by crafters companion and it no longer is cutting. Well, it is self sharpening so when it doesn’t cut, it means you need to tighten the bolts underneath. I’ve had mine forever and use it for everything and I’ve never had it go dull but when it feels like it’s going dull, I tighten the bolts and it works much better. That also keeps the arm up when you are raising it if the arm starts to go down and it shouldn’t be going down that means it needs to be tightened as well. However, another way you can sharpen guillotine blades by cutting through aluminum foil.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Guillotine by Crafters Companion. It's great to know that it's self-sharpening and that tightening the bolts can resolve issues with the blade not cutting properly. The tip about sharpening the blade by cutting through aluminum foil is also a helpful hack.
I really like the LDRS stamp cleaner. I was not even half thru the bottle when the tip came off. Is there a fix for putting it back on? I know I had to be heavy handed when I used it and I have already received my second purchase. It is better than Ranger's. Thanks Justine
Oh shoot! I am sorry that happened to you. A close friend of mine had that happen with the Archival Cleaner too. I would recommend in the future to not squeeze the bottle as you're cleaning for sure. As for getting the pad back on- I am not aware of any way to fix that. You could still use the cleaner and a rag of some sort. :)
I’m going to glue a gem to the top of my pick up tool, great idea!
Awesome! Sometimes it is the little things that help :)
Thanks for the tips Happy Summer 💐😊
My pleasure 😊 Happy Summer!
