First time I’ve watched your channel. I’m always looking for sc patterns for afghans and this will be a nice textured one w/the simple border. Thanks so much.

I am so glad I found your channel! I love your tutorials, clear, great view of what you are doing and no fluff talk to distract or annoy! Now to decide which project I will do first, it's nice that is the toughest part with your patterns!

I use this as a simple edging/border for projects that don't need an elaborate border. Thank you for sharing this. ✌🏻🐾🥰🧶🇺🇸

The texture this patterb creates us fabulous. Unfortunately I found that crocheting a single stitch and then slip stitch took far too loong. I was days making this dish cloth. I used an H hook will try one more with an I hook to see if it works up faster.
I am usually a fast crochet. I make a hat in 90 minutes. Other dishcloths in about an hour. I like a single stitch followed by a HDC stitch and repeat across. Hoiping for better luck with the next one as the texture (again) is fabulous. I have ben 4 days now trying to finish. I just get bored with the time it takes. Thank you for the pattern.

I love watching your tutorials! When changing colors on a flat piece like this do you cut the yarn each time you switch colors?

This was great, thank you!I struggle with the side boarders knowing where to put the stitches. I tried what you said to mark the half way and 10 on each side of that mark but wondering if that is 20 per side in addition to the 3 in each corner? Or does the 20 count the 3 in each corner?

While you need some texture in a facecloth, what smoother tight stitch could I use for someone with delicate skin.

My cotton yarn calls for a 4mm hook so would i just need to increase my stitches to make it the same size? Thanks

Yes and you’ll need an odd number for your starting chain

Due to the nature of the stitches used about how much yarn did you use on just one of these cute and very sturdy dish cloths/wash cloths??? I’m interested. Thank You in Advance and Thank You for sharing!!!🙂💞🙏🧶🥰🌻

    • @jovanyessir
      @jovanyessir 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Everybody’s head size is different 😄 do you know your hat size? I’m guessing if your 55 your around a 7! I have written directions for a beanie!
Ch 44 (chain should be 11-13 inches long depending on yarn weight.)
Half double crochet into every stitch (you could use double or sc stitches)
Ch 3 turn, repeat row 1
Repeat until you have 24 inches in length.
Fold the short sides over, leaving your working end (where your hook goes in) on the top right.
You should now have a rectangle, folded in half. Slip stitch into every stitch.
Next, cut your yarn, leaving a 24 inch tail, you want a long tail.
You long rectangle weaved together should now make a smaller rectangle than you can stick your hand through.
Where your working yarn is, weave in the tail all round the top of the rectangle-circle, then pull, not so hard, just to close up the hat. You should now have a long beanie! Let’s shorten it by folding up the short end where your head goes in, weave in ends and add in a Pom Pom if you like, and your ready :)

Not sure why people want to make washcloths over buying them?

I really like making them for a few reasons; one, they can go with your bathroom decor with more of a rustic look as you can use a variety of stitches and designs, colors to make them. Two, they're fun to make in-between larger projects when you get a bit bored with making something like a blanket, which takes longer. Three, they also make quick, great gifts...like making a set of 4 or 6 and tie a ribbon around them...also can add some quick face scrubbies to match. I love those..they help exfoliate the skin. That's my take on it anyway.
I find that you have to be careful what stitch you use to make washcloths with bc if you use a larger, loose stitch, when they get wet they tend to stretch out and become very holey. They're still fine that way, but I like a closer tighter stitch. Oh, one last thing. I prefer mercerized cotton bc I read that the mercerization process helps keep it from getting mildewy. It's also best to hang it up to dry after using it rather than leaving it bunched up. Hope this all helps. 🙂🧶🧶🧶

They are fun and they work and last much longer than store bought and they are eco friendly win win 😀

      @@Pitoonya Benefits of Mercerization
      To increase silk-like luster.
      To improve moisture regain/content.
      To increase dye absorbency.
To improved strength and elongation properties.
To increase smoothness and hand feel is good.
To stabilized the strength of yarn or fabric.
