Sigalet was a standout for a Victoria, BC junior A hockey team - along with Aaron Voros. During a deep playoff run, when covering the game for newspaper outlet, I saw one of the best fan signs ever. A young woman brought a sign to the game saying "I'm Wiggy for Siggy."

Jordan may have had only 43 seconds of NHL career ice time but his true life career stats- not as common to goalies- are his assists to others fighting MS and his life's power play goals to never quit. 👏👏👏

Oh wow ya Jordan. He was part of the PFGS goalie training group my son trained with in minor hockey. Jordan is a stand up guy, absolutely awesome with kids teaching them goalie skills. He moved to Calgary to be their goalie coach and on his first weekend there, he stopped an armed robbery in a liquor store; held the guy until the cops came. It was talked about on Hockey Night in Canada. Jordan is a rock solid guy who didn't get his chance as a NHL star due to the MS, but made his career another way. Wish him well.

Larry Kwong, the first NHL player to break the color barrier (he was of Chinese decent) - was called up to Rangers in 1948 after putting up some incredible numbers in the minors.
He was reduced to only one short shift at the end 3rd period. That was the only ice time he would ever see in the NHL.
This was likely due to discrimination through the head coach at the time, but Larry being the class act that he always was - never brought up any negative distaste toward the Rangers or the staff throughout his lifetime.
His recognition as the first non-white player to ever lace up the skates in the NHL was only ever really recognized WAY later in his life too. He passed away in 2018.
I'm not sure how long his shift was, but it couldn't have been that long at all.
Truly an injustice to an incredible player however. And makes you think of all the great players who's careers couldn't reach their full potential due to corrupt and inept coaching and management.

Never thought I'd see a Jordan Sigalet video lol my family had season tickets to the Providence Bruins for a few seasons while Jordan and Jonathan were on the team. Tuukka was backing up Sigalet for the first season, then the next year Tuukka got a majority of the starts. Hannu Toivenen was thrown in there a few times too. But as part of the package we got to skate at the Dunkin Donuts center with the team once a year to get autographs and chit chat with the players, then later in the season you would go to Dave and Busters with the team and there would be raffles, you'd get to play pop a shot with guys, I loved it. Oddly enough, we always had more confidence in Sigalet than we did Tuukka. Tuukka was the coolest of the guys though. Chatted with my dad and I for about an hour the first year at the Dunk, then remembered us the next year and chatted again. Kind of irrelevant but it's one of my favorite memories.

This reminds me of a similar story in English football from a game between Manchester United at Arsenal. Leading 2-1 into injury time Utd goalie Van de Gouw was knocked unconscious. Backup Nick Culkin came on, took a goal kick and the ref blew full time. He never played another top flight game. His entire contribution less than 30 seconds. 😊 He did however enjoy a solid career at a lower league level.

Candidate for the shortest NHL career by a skater: Larry Kwong. The first non-white and first player of Asian descent to play in the NHL. March 13, 1948 Rangers at Montreal. Rangers coach Frank Boucher leaves Kwong sitting on the bench for the first two periods, but eventually gives him one brief solitary shift late in the third. There is of course, no time-on-ice data from a game from 1948, but the shift reportedly lasted about a minute.

Man, MS affects everyone differently too. Some people are fine having minor symptoms, and there’s people like my dad. He was a carpenter and now he can’t even walk, or open his hands all the way. MS hit him hard and it sucks.

Jordan Sigalett cannot be found but a zamboni driver Davis Ayres is all over :/ something about that makes me feel bad

tbh I'm surprised David Ayres didn't pop up considering he only played half a game. Feel bad for Jordan Sigalet but at the same time feel happy for him. He got to live his dream for 43 seconds and got a shutout.

I'm not even a Philly fan, far from it, but their decision to bench Yandle for effectively no reason, as a bottom dweller team to "evaluate future players" absolutely infuriated me.
