I really hope the manufactures make more things like this, or the G-system: Multi-effects processors with digital brains and memories for patch storage and recall, and some analog signal path for the effects. I’d love something that gave me analog filters and overdrives, but also good analog chorus! Then digital delay and reverb, and the random effects like lo-fi, underwater, harmonizer, phaser, etc.

Rubber feet are the cat's pajamas. I love to hear this in my performance space with a quad setup. And got to love those knobs. Sorry Roland but I don't like to play Operation to tweak my synthesizer.

As an owner of this device myself do not buy it for the reverb! It's atrocious. But the delay lines are solid and so are the filters.

you just saved me lots of time. reverb is what i need most and most picky about.

This is sweet; reminds me of the Zen Delay by Erica Synths a tad without the reverb and LFO but you do get the Overdrive. Also a fantastic desktop delay pedal/device.

I was lucky enough to play with it, two years ago in Torino (Turin, Italy). It is a really beast! If you start to use it with a synth sequence... somebody must detach yourself from it... by force! :o)

lots of desktop units nowadays... I miss the dying 19" form factor... I miss those days when you could stack up 5 / 8 /10 synths and fx in a flight-case...

As I purchased mine with kickstarter I can't really complain about the price. I first used it in my dj setup for about 6 months and considering the complexity of the unit it worked well, however I think it works best on one instrument at a time or minimal techno, ambient music etc. My main concern is the digital sound quality which you can hear in the video but no problem for live sound. If you are making money with soundtracks and like hardware it's definitely worth looking into, but for general purposes I would look at Pioneer's RMX 1000.

A very powerful and hands-on unit, but poor USB implementation: 1) ground loop issues, 2) cannot be powered by 1mA USB and 3) does not send audio out via USB (even if it shows audio midi set up). A machine at this price tag should be able to be powered by DC and have 2 ways audio coms with a computer.

Can that filter be controlled with MIDI, the cutoff freq and/or rez?

  • @AByallo

the filter is pretty mild, eh. sounds sweet, smooth and pretty musical, but could use a toooouch more freakout at high peak :D

also is it just the YT video or is the reverb mono only? sounds like just a mono plate-y kinda verb. seems an odd limitation for a stereo/quadraphonic box.

If I were REmindEr i wouldn't be very impressed to see my beautiful processor being used with the OP-1 instead of something more substantial.
