Removing the deflection yoke from the tube instead of taking it out in one piece is a pretty amateur move. No wonder they didnt show it turned on with the amount of calibration it now needs because of that.
In many countries, analog television was blacked out and they switched to digital terrestrial television. That analog television cannot receive that digital television signal.
yeah I don't think he actually fixed anything here. the state the Nintendo and TV are shown in in the beginning are staged with knobs and screws missing and added filth just for him to clean and reassemble for "restoration". The TV probably didn't work after, otherwise they would have shown it with the Nintendo like the Akai in the beginning
One tip for putting screws back into plastic housings is to turn them counter clockwise until you feel the screw "fall" a fraction of a millimeter. This means that the screw has lined up with the threads it previously cut into the plastic. Then you can turn it clockwise and ensure that the screw uses its old threads. If keep just cutting new threads with the screw, eventually all of the plastic will have been cut away and the screw won't have anything left to grab onto.
In this day and age it won’t work since the frequencies it worked off of are being used for something else and tv signals are now digital which the tv can only pick up analog signals…. But I love the form factor of that Sony tv!
Do you guys rent or did you invest in a probe lens? It adds a lot to the videos and as a professional videographer I think it works fantastic in these videos?

The 80s was the decade of my teens, and I had a similar tv to this, some generic B&W TV made in the USSR. I can also confirm we used to splash all our electronics in white paint.
You have great filming technique but you dont have to fake your restorations just show it how you got it than take it apart you don't have to fill it full of sand first it just looks fake plus when you show it missing parts that you obviously removed just looks fake one more thing flux and more heat will help your soldering the joint in the tv will not last they should look like the rest of the solder joints if done correctly
Half arsed and unsatisfying. You didn't clean the TV circuit board to remove any corrosive cap liquid and didn't treat the tube safely by discharging it. You mashed every screw in sight, the labels look awful and your soldering is terrible. Other than that well done 😅
The stupid thing would be not to restore these labels. I have seen many restoration videos where they reconstruct broken or peeled off labels with completely new ones.
You butchered the labels. Sorry to say. The fonts were different. Yiu tried to improve on them instead of replicating them exactly. That conformity logo is missing the numbers and letters around the arc. But otherwise, good work!
The bug funeral was freaking awesome!
The bug has passed away with honor
😂😂😂😂🔝
Now, if you had the same skill level of electronics as you do with cinema-photography, you would have an epic radio!
Very good video. But you need to hold your soldering iron on for longer. You want the solder to flow and fill the hole
this is not soldering, it is a weld just holds the capacitor that happens to have conductivity

The whole video was amateur
Why?
Great restoration. I'm sorry but the mini funeral was the best part. 😊😊😊
What restaration? I not see signal TV work?
What is restaration to you?
Radio no sound?

@@Nolroa If I'm not mistaken, if you sell the digital converter with analog RF output, it doesn't make sense without showing that it looks good!

Even though we had PC boards back in 1981, this appliance is still going on strong. We didn't have any SMT boards just yet until 1998.
Lots of SMT components very early on. SMT was invented in the 1960s.
