I feel that. I was streaming some folk rock station one day and Masterpiece came on and hit me with immediate tears. It was like she was telling the story of my grandmother dying of cancer and my mother being diagnosed a few years later. Adrienne Lenker is one of the best songwriters I've heard.
I always get a little bit put off whenever someone likens her to Dylan, just because she is a really great songwriter-I do think she is an extremely unique butterfly who sings a lot more delicately about love and life things (and I'm saying that as a lifelong Bob Dylan fan). But, okay, I think you really can hear the influence in this. Anyone else hear Like A Rolling Stone, especially in that intro? Amazing! Thus, my love for her deepens...
thanks for this - really special the way she played the solo this performance. vv grateful you put this stuff out there. did you also record terminal paradise from that night by any chance? ending especially was absolute magic i thought & would love to relive it
@@dilznick101 I just watched it again and I think you’re right. What I thought was maybe a bit off key, off tempo guitar (playing?) Is maybe so awesome that it’s beyond me. lol.
Actually obsessed with this band’s music, hope this song gets a studio recording asap! Thank you so much for filming
They just released a version!

Not 1, but 2 ❤
Been watching all the live recordings I can find of this song for the last month or so, and this one might be the best yet!

I THOUGHT THEY HAD LIKE A FLUTE PLAYER
SAME I REMEMBER WATCHING A VIDEO OF THEM AND THERE WAS MORE INSTRUMENTS INCLUDING THE FLUTE
they do on the Late Show version
That lead guitar is throwing me off.
What do you mean
Your comment is throwing me off
