That is because F1 has become to easy. It is not a challenge anymore...
If max had an engine replacement and had to start from the back and passed the whole field in four laps, four laps, it would be embarrassing for everyone else but max would be showing some emotion.

It's crazy how i can go from disliking Max to liking him - the media circus around F1 really never shows genuine stuff like this
You’ve got to get away from the British media; they have it out for him…just like they did with Rosberg, Vettel, Fernando and Michael
British media is sadly very aggressive towards their perceived "foes". And they do it in a very subtle, bullish way. Every little defect from Max (who, don't forget, was 17 when he joined F1, I was an unsufferable spoiled brat at 17...) is maximized, and all his achievements are always subtly minimized (attributed to his car, to his team, to luck, everything but him, although it's becoming harder and harder to push that narrative). F1 media is basically British media, and they have sadly inoculated that into Americans and Brazilians (where I come from). Luckily we can have our own view of things thanks to the internet, and what a nice chill chap Max is, besides being truly a machine of skill, grit, without ever losing his very intense heart (just see how he smashed that fucker when he ruined his friend's race).
Max is a perfectly lovely kid, tantrums, rants, jokes and all. He's pure intensity, a bit crazy in the head (just enough), but above all a master of his craft. In 2023 everyone is like "oh the car is simply amazing", well who do you think has worked his ass for years and years until he has found a perfect car/setup combination to be so domineering? A car configuration which is actually very risky/on the limit, which makes his constantly slide and almost lose it all the time? He has won with the lesser car, has won while his car was good but not the best (like in 2021, 2022 first half), and has now been wiping the floor humiliatingly with a great car he has been an integral part in developing, not putting a single step wrongly for a while despite so many close calls (Spa being the last one when he almost lost in the Radillon)

I'm pretty sure they are all normal likable people. Regardless of their results per race.

There was a race in 1984 with multiple world champions driving regular sedans, including Prost, Lauda and Mansel. Ayrton Senna won the race (he was a rookie back then), lauda came second I believe.
Edit: It was called The Mercedes Cup at the reinauguration of the shorter Nürburgring. There is apparently a video of the full race on TH-cam.

No, it is not “just the car” if people would just go back and watch his junior career they’d see how dominant he was even in karting where every car basically has the same performance and he was still a second quicker.
Max drives an oversteer build and it shows by his driving style, however even in 2021-2022 when red bull didn’t have an oversteer build for his car, he was still performing, its so sad to see people saying it’s just the car when he has shown year after year that he has talent, from his second ever season he was scoring points and winning, in his first year he was still getting point finishes.
And people may compare him to Hamilton or Schumacher but max was literally still a teenager when he joined, in his second season he was fkn 18 that just isn’t comparable to any other driver, the mere fact that he was getting points at 18 should tell you enough, he finished his second ever season in f1 5th i think, that alone tells you enough.
And yes this current season the car is a rocket ship, that doesn’t take away from the fact that max is a 1 in a million chance of driver skill.
People like to complain about his very dangerous driving, but let me remind you, that he was 17 when he started in 2016, now 7 years later hes only 25, some drivers only started at 25 and this madman already has 2 championships at that age.
Hes easily one of the most impressive drivers and many old timers agree with that.
I personally am a verstappen fan but i can still agree that Hamilton is an amazing driver and is a goat, yet i will also say that max is easily on his way to becoming a goat.
He was raised by a racing family, he has been close to schumacher, literally everything points towards him being incredibly gifted
In his junior career he won 24/30 races, never placing lower than 4th, in his f3 days he only lost to Ocon because his car had issues many times, in a race in f3 a red flag was called when it started raining, they continued the race and he was 1.3 seconds faster finishing 34 seconds ahead of the second car.
In brazil 2016 when he was 18 might i remind you, he was showing extraordinary skill in the rain.
In his short career in toro rosso he was battling with the red bulls, Mercedes and ferraris.
So if you genuinely believe it is just the car, then please check out some videos on Max’s junior to F3 career, you will be genuinely surprised by just how much skill he has, check out his karting days if that’s what it takes, but never forget that he’s still and will probably always be, the youngest ever driver to win a grand prix.

@@ytwos1 I like Lewis a lot, much more than Max. I think hes a good role model for kids for things like discipline, compassion. Whereas Max seems more like a dry, hardnosed person that couldn´t give two shits about anybody but himself. But that´s only my perception from a far. And yes it´s a joke Max is obviously a very good driver, not a single person in F1 is calling that into question. I would debate the goat status a lot of people are assigning to him tho.
