    ticket prices are too expensive. im seeing the same problem here in Australia with supercars, because mosport isn't really a sport, its a rich mans sport, its aspirational that's why advertisers like rolex etc are the only corporations left which advertise - being aspirational - for some reason has correpsonded to ticket and food prices that only a saudi royal family member can afford. i would love to go to the aus GP every year but the ticket price means its a once a decade thing... for gen z probably a only ever go once thing. And i never ever see exec or journalists grounded enough to see the wood for the trees. i cant even watch F1 anymore its behind paywalls i have to watch youtube watch along where some dude calls the race and we watch the live timing. is this really what F1 wants for its fans ?

    • @AverageJoeInOz
      @AverageJoeInOz 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @sspacegghost yep, agree totally. F1 is for those who can afford it, not for the masses. Exclusivity has always been F1's mantra. Shame for the average fans.

    The unhappy attitude towards Silverstone is the ticket prices I believe. Flying to any Euro race is cheaper apparently.

    I used to go to the BGP every year. Unless money is no object and you can fly in and out, have premium seating, access and hospitality, you'll sit in traffic for hours,there and back, have limited access, queue ages for everything, see little of the action and pay a hefty price.
    Far better to watch live at home on a 50+" TV with surround sound, all your food and beverages at hand, all the commentary,, replays, analysis, camera angles, slowmo etc.
    Sorry guys, it's a no brainer.

    Peter, love you & the show but I’m a business man & what I think you are missing in the Lewis decision is- he is a championship winner, he has higher casche, he moved the stock up dramatically and he helped them already with the new & additional sponsorship!✅💯. None of the existing drivers can move the stock up that much by signing!✅💯

    Hi, Peter. Love these live podcasts. Great point you make about fans walking away when one team dominates. The only reason Silverstone could be struggling to sell tickets (which I have my doubts about), is due to the price. As far as one team domination is concerned, that stopped with the cost cap and the restrictions on out of season practice rules. The bottom line is that Red Bull have been the best team to master the last regulations changes, and have reaped the benefits. It will, as it has always has, revert to another team dominating again at some point, and my money would definitely be on McClaren.

    Hi Peter. Love the understeer and oversteer analogy of your dog. My dog definitely is oversteering. However: we have one issue: I love Nelson Piquet. I think he is the one multiple Champ nobody gives credit to. In my opinion, Nelson was was the very best driver in 1983 and 1984. Behind all politics Nelson was very, very good. I admit in `87 Nigel was definitely faster. However, it was kind of payback to 1980 when Jonesey smashed him into the barrier in Montreal at the first start. Anyhow: LOVE YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF HISTORY!! (Just thinking of the article when you tried to intrudude the „friction circle“ to Jacques Villeneueve back in 1996 ;) Love Jacqes anywas. Cheers from Switzerland.

    This is the second time I hear Peter say Sainz having to drive knowing he has to leave at the end of the season for so long is unprecedented.
    Sebastian Vettel was let go before the start of the 2020 season, having to drive the whole season for Ferrari knowing he has to leave.

    • @fragdude
      @fragdude 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe it was only announced later on in the season, but didn’t vettel have the Aston Martin deal lined up pretty early on?
      I think that has been mentioned?
      Also Vettel was at the tail end of his career, not on an upward trajectory. That’s the bit that I believe Pete is referring to as unprecedented

    I must admit that this idea that the new fans due to Drive to Survive is just fly-by-night, good weathered fans is getting old. The online judgement is high. It is the "true lifelong fans" and purists that can complain about recent domination just as much. It is very elitist views going around. And to be honest, not welcoming at all.
    It is anyway not "these new fans" that went to the tracks a few years ago, so if people are not attending any more it is the "true fans" that are leaving. Yet, the ones coming in due to DTS get blamed for not appreciating this sport enough.
    Please be more kind to the new fans. And this is not directed at you, Peter. It is all over the vibe you get.

    Be sad to see DR go while hoping LL gets a seat.
    Obviously, Daniel's big problem is his inconsistency in the early part of the season. I do believe, however, that he's, right now, on par with Yuki. Was an excellent Canada and was better than Yuki throughout last weekend despite Yuki being ever so slightly quicker in Q3 ( I understand he got a tow).
    It seems sad to me that someone who can qualify that car in 5th in Canada plus a 4th in a Sprint race, something no one has done in recent times in that car, should be getting dropped while Checo gets a contract extension and people are talking about a possible move for Zhou to Alpine.
    Maybe I'm just sentimental, lol.

    • @michaelcobbin
      @michaelcobbin 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If Daniel can keep the consistency going for Austrian and British GPs and head of Yuki, he should be safe. I hoping that Daniel beats Yuki in the next two races because that will shut everyone up.

      @michaelcobbin I really do think that when he performs at his best Daniel is better than Yuki.

    • @michaelcobbin
      @michaelcobbin 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sbGOM Yep, I agree with your assessment. Daniel two top 5 qualifying positions this year proves that. VCARB needs to sort out its upgrades, which are not helping both drivers at the moment. At this point, Daniel needs to outperform Yuki over the next two races. If Daniel can achieve outcome then it will be four races in a row where Daniel has done better than Yuki.

    • @im2fast4u711

      The issue for ricciardo is that he needed to be better than both Yuki and checo, but he's not they're pretty much equal imo and none are really good enough for that red bull seat. Liam's not ready for the seat either, so they're kind of stuck with perez because at least they know what he is. Ricciardo can't be trusted to come in and perform and Yuki is too immature and wouldn't be able to handle the pressure.

    It is the Lewis way of playing dirty and getting away with it.
