  • This is the first class in the series of 6 Awareness Through Movement® lessons with Feldenkrais® Teacher, Carol Kress, designed to open new pathways for your yoga practice - and beyond - as we explore reduction of effort, skeletal support, continuous breathing, and the elimination of resistance.
    No previous yoga experience necessary!
We hope you enjoy this first Introductory lesson. To gain access to the entire series 'Feldenkrais Lessons Rooted in Yoga' visit www.feldenkrai....
This course feature a series of adventurous Awareness Through Movement lessons created by Dr. Feldenkrais, using aspects of yoga asanas as a starting point. Designed to produce a wealth of valuable sensory information, this series will help you develop a greater appreciation of yourself and improve the quality and ease of your yoga practice.
For those who enjoy challenge, self-inquiry, and dynamic movement, this class is an opportunity to put goals aside and focus on your experience in the moment. Why? Because aiming for perfection in an asana is often detrimental to learning, self-knowledge, and the harmony of mind and body.
Opening us to the current moment, Feldenkrais lessons offer new neuromuscular options which can improve our organization and refine the contours of our actions. With an expanded kinesthetic vocabulary and a richer connection to our inner experience, it becomes easier for us to manifest both power and ease.

Thank you very much for giving a Feldenkrais lesson🙏🏽.
This time it gave me some pain. My groin and my pubic bone were a bit badly strained by the front heel😖, so now I am extremely happy that I am a woman.

Sorry to hear that you experienced pain while doing this lesson. Please email us at communications@feldenkraisaccess.com if the pain is not resolved. And when you next approach this lesson, do much less and see if that makes it easier for you. Best wishes!!

Is the Feldenkrais Method only as effective as someone’s ability to sense the changes? Will the nervous system still make the muscular changes with someone who may lack the sensory input?

Dear Sean, It is a part of our human condition to have the capacity for change. Neuroplasticity is available to all of us!! Our ability to sense and feel ourselves, our kinesthetic awareness, is a skill that we can foster. The Feldenkrais Method encourages a deeper kinesthetic awareness and I have no doubt, whatsoever, that you can cultivate a greater capacity to feel differences, and notice the changes with practice. Please do try more, and let us know how it goes! Visit us at www.feldenkraisaccess.com/ for more free classes and many other resources.
