Damn! I was addicted to video music box! My mom almost killed me when she got that $600. phone bill because I would constantly order videos ( Me & my sister had a huge crush on Brand Nubian, love y’all). 1989 I had to walk my ass to downtown Newark and get a job to pay off that phone bill.

But for Newark NJ cablevision was the cable company for my area. it was either video music box or video music jukebox and you would order your video via telephone. Either way my momma made sure I paid off that bill.😭 😭. Took awhile to pay it off my first job paid me $3.00 an hour.

From hanging out at Doctor Who's crib, him being a true lyricist as well as low key, X always being a dope as lyracist and to lord Jamal first being a DJ then, rapper and producer (did it all like Puba); these brother deserve their flowers because most people don't understand the dedication and crafting of your skills it takes to develop such an iconic group and albums. Also, most people don't know Puba was definitely shopping them first, as solo artist. More importantly, it all started at Bill Brickles crib as the epicenter in developing both groups (Masters of Ceremony and Brand Nubian); he often isn't mentioned. Come to think of it, Puba and Shabazz actually taught me how drive lol! Good brothers, great families and great times!!!

Dr. Who was the truth, I always wondered what happened to em'. Masters of Ceremony - Dynamite, one of my favorite Hip Hop albums, I still pump it every now & then.
This is pretty amazing. Lord j is basically saying I was just here for the ride and had no real imput on business or even the group… and saw the other angles of the two g’s that had all the keys… and it’s pretty amazing how grand p knew the whole plan. Lord j is very very very blessed as grand puba knew that the only way this would work is if he was in the group because he knew the chances of success are very very small without him. This is probably the realist shit I’ve seen from hip hop in a hot minute…. I also get a kick out of how grand p is basically ready to drop bombs on everyone that’s not shemite. Hahaha
