closing off with the wings over his eyes is actually a reference to the six-winged seraphim, who also cover their eyes with a set of wings because they believe they are unworthy of laying their eyes upon the visage of God... and Sunday here believes he is no longer worthy of his sister Robin because of the sins he has committed.
uhh where is information about him thinking of himself as 'unworthy' from? i don't remember him saying anything like that (at least not in 2.7 quest). he does think that he disappointed her, yes, and maybe even numerous times ("... I'll just stay the person who always disappointed his sister" or something like that, pretty much just before the cutscene with him near the end of quest) but i dont think the covering eyes with wings is related to that
@@mhhhvhvhvhvhvjisk by reading in between the lines, we enrich our enjoyment of the narrative! sunday appeared before robin as an intellitron as to not implicate her in his crimes, but if that was all there was then he could’ve covertly, intentionally let her know and had a normal if a little whispered goodbye, instead of a first and last conversation between two strangers, regardless of the fact that robin figured out who “wonweek” was in the end. post-trailblaze mission, sunday has found some peace within his circumstances, but self-flagellation is kind of in his nature. he’s aware of his past and curdles in it, “i was once bronze melodia, listening to the pleas of those who were suffering, knowing there were no gods who would save people unconditionally,” and that’s what led him here. he’s never let go of a single choice he’s ever made, and if they shaped him into the villain his very own sister had to help defeat, into the criminal on the run he currently is in spite of the noble intentions that paved his way, being “unworthy” of her is well within the realm of possibility, especially in his mind. especially with the promise they made together as children, broken at his feet.

Fun detail related to that, the robots standing to each side are two members of a boss trio called "Past, Present and The Eternal Show", named Past and Future respectively. The whole trailer revolving around that inner struggle of where he is coming from and where he should go, even in the little details is very cool!
Love these Star Rail trailer reactions. You have an amazing way of reading into the imagery and are able to identify what is going on even if you do not know all the backstory of the character. Really a joy to watch.

Sunday's trailer is SUPER symbolic and uses many parts that is easy to not understand if you don't have the patience or knowledge to notice. I really love this, you always never dissappoint me! Thank you so much. Such a breath of fresh air from so many people reactions towards it and putting it as a lukewarm trailer because they don't bother to actually paid attention to the whole video! Ngl, ever since this trailer was released I was expecting your reaction and analysis. Also to help you out, the robots of each side are in the game a group of game bosses called The Past, Present and Eternal, so yeah this trailer is mainly about the conflict between his past self and present self.
Just so you know, the mechanical creatures praying are Memetic entities. The caged ones are called "Past Confined and Caged" and the red ones are "Tomorrow in Harmonious Chords" They represent Sunday's past and his future. Heck you even see his past self playing the black piano and his future self playing the white one. And if you look closely they act as the white dot and the black dot inside a symbol of the Ying and Yang The amount of symbolism in the trailer is enormous....and if you play the story, you learn why Past Sunday is smiling and looks playful when he never was in the story proper before
There's some lovely cinematic storytelling in this pack; Near the start, you see a panning up shot of a tower, the penthouse lit up. Then you see the shot of Sunday in his formal clothes, looking out with the camera, in high society but cut off, isolated. You can see that version of himself was a mover and doer, a leader. And later, Sunday himself explains that he was once "Bronze Melodia" clearly a noble title. This is his current self facing his former self after a fall from grace, picking himself back up but learning from his mistakes and taking his power back from his former self. If you've got a chance, you should look up the Honkai Impact/Honkai Star Rail Crossover animation: Confrontation! It's quite the show!

So sunday is robin sister they promised to help and save people But along the way sunday dream changes that instead of saving people he will guide them his way became more of a cage for a bird living in captivity instead of being free But that is sunday villain / boss form This playsble sunday is trying to redeem himself so yes this is a mirror match Sunday old self follows the god of ORDER His new self return to following the god of harmony he regain his old dream along with his sister robin 😇 The crazy part is Its upto the player to decide if we accept sunday on his redemption arc and support him Or just let him go on his own eternal journey to pay for his sins
I really love how you noticed his lonelliness in this trailer despite not knowing the lore. It was something that defined his person unfortunately in the past. I loved your analysis and interpretation. You noticed things that fans wouldn't notice because we know what we see but you can look at it from neutral perspective. Thank you :)

That's Sunday and his old self. Pretty much he has started his redention arc. I would love to see you react and try to depict all the hidden messages in Alien Stage, a musical YT serie by VIVINOS. If you dont want to watch all the videos, do at least "Round 6, Cure" (it's the one that you need to watch at least 2 times to understand everything it tells)

Spoilers for 2.7 below read at your own risk After watching 2.7 I now call this Sunday vs Saturday (wonweek) cause of the ending and how sassy Saturday sounded during their final confrontation I do hope we get more sassy sunday on the express where hes not being heavily monitored by the family that was causing him to suppress every aspect of himself.
in short and very simplified - very simplified a planet with a collective dreamworld (like the matrix but less digital) on it (rich) people can enter through pods in a hotel in which is basically space las vegas he was a pries trying to preach socialism but corparate usa didnt like it and ordinary people prefered entertainment/ignorance (plus he he heared some messed up stuff in his confession booth) so his "church" tried to override the dream with with a kind of god-like ai to manage humanity fair equal but it didnt really work (like stuff when the creator of the matrix talked to neo about the matrix version 1.0 or in some fantasy setting when one reaches the plain of the "good" gods and it is just an empty endless white voide/plane/etc... - nothing really working...) so basically the heroes stopped him/his order and now he is reflecting upon it and setting on a new path ***** as I said very simlified otherwise that would be much longer... mfg Olli
