Total points in the season series used to be a tie breaker for final standings and could mean the difference between hosting a playoff game or going on the road. That could be why they went for the points instead of running out the clock, if that tie breaker is still in the CFL.
@TSN Is there any chance you have an extra website intern who could take over CFL's in game and posted stats? This whole Genius Sports thing is not working out and Randy's team is oblivious to the fact.
They wanted to waste 22 seconds and they wasted 20. It's not uncommon for a QB to get hit just BTW. It worked as planned for the coaches and Harris will still be fine to crush the Bombers next week.
Hoping that the time would run out when the ball hits the ground. But they could have just punted it into the end zone and got the same result. The riders made a mistake on the previous play when they called time out before the clock was even close to zero. Had they run the play clock down to 1 second, they could have just had the Q.B. kneel down to end the game.
@@tchevrier Starters almost always finish the game, unless it is a blowout. They were only up by four, so aren't going to put in an inexperienced backup. Imagine if they did put in the backup Q.B. and he threw a pick for 6, or fumbled the ball. The only problem was the risky play that they ran.
@@my3dviews Imagine if your starting quarterback was injured on a meaningless play at the end of the game? They left Harris in for a play that basically called for him to run around and eat some clock before heaving the ball as high in the air as possible. The backup can easily do that. Now as for the play itself, they had 9 guys blocking 5 defenders. And one of those defenders still got a free run at Harris. C'mon man. How does that happen? By the way, did the play accomplish what they wanted it to? No.

They had Chris Cuthbert a few years ago, who was the best CFL announcer ever, in my opinion. But he went to another network to do hockey (more money of course).
Chris Jones loves himself some Taylor Cornelius and that color commentator was really trying sell him up. The guy has a 4-17 starting record and has 21 touchdowns and 24 interceptions. Taylor Cornelius is simply proving he just isn't that good of a CFL starting quarterback.
Well, at least the Eskimos... er... Elks are maintaining some sort of a professional sports record (home loss streak).
Will be all-time worst with one more home loss.
I love the CFL.
Me too. It’s a lot better then people give it credit for
Hahahaha
Puke.

This feels more like football than NFL.
Canadian football is more offensive shootout while American football is defensive tactic
As an Eskimo fan, they have to get rid of the quarter back. Or it will be the same as last year.

What a bonehead final play .
Expect nothing less from Saskatchewan. Thats our coaching staff for ya, every damn year.

Let's keep this streak Rollin
What was the promotion that got 33,000 fans to show up?
Riders looked good against low level team on opener. Can they compete next week Winnipeg top level.

what were they thinking at the end there?

It's spelled "telegraphed", and you also used capitals on all the wrong words. I am just guessing, but did you fail grade 4...twice?
