Really wish more games, horror games in specific, would have intros like this and RE7's "Go Tell Aunt Rhody" It reminds me a lot of early 2000s horror movies in the best way, they always had these flashy over the top Bond-Like openings, and it's a trope that I really miss now. But these games reintroduced it in a format it works perfectly for, video games. I really hope if we ever get another Silent Hill game ever again it gets an intro like this, more subtle since it is part of Silent Hill, but I think it'd be neat to see more games do this.

Apparently, Supermassive Games has a potential Dark Pictures Anthology project titled 'O Death'. Just saw it on their Wiki page, though I'm yet to play any of the Dark Pictures games myself (Man of Medan, Little Hope, House of Ashes and the upcoming Devil in Me), I recently finished Supermassive Games' latest release The Quarry, for me a better story than Until Dawn, but Until Dawn still has better gameplay; even all these years later. Boom! Butterfly effect! 😂
When a game, movie or series have this kind of intro I already know it's gonna be very good. To be honest, I didn't expect Until Dawn to be so good. Played it for the first time last week and couldn't stop until the end. I ended the game with two protagonists dead, though (RIP Matt and Ashley)😢

I grew up in an area that cold and snowy for more than half the year, and this always reminds me of nights in the dead of winter. We lived near the woods and there were stories of something called The Creeper that would take little kids away in the night if they wandered without an adult. I know now it was to teach us to never go alone in the forest, but that used to scare the shit out of me when I was younger. 😂
When I bought my ps4 this game was on sale for $10 on the Playstation store. I'd never heard of it. When this opening hit I knew I had stumbled onto something great. The song with the scenes just blew my mind. Best opening I've ever seen for a horror game!

I was having really high expectations for Man of Medan. Until Dawn was such a beautiful game with an excellent athosphere and loveable CHARACTERS!!! Love them all. Yes, Emily, too. It made me feel so many things. And I come back every once and then to see the gameplays. Now I'm hoping that Little Hope will be at least better than Man of Medan... 😔 But nothing like Until Dawn 2 is possible, I fear.

You have this ethereal voice making her desperate plea for just one more trip around the sun and you listen and have seldom heard such finite context sounding so good. If her plea(no one prays to something as evil, natural, absolute and lonely as DEATH..righ..meh) goes unanswered and she is taken by death that year, it’s game over for her and you can hear the seriousness of the consequences death deals when death doesn’t spare you one more year or consider your age at your stage in time. Powerful lyrics. I remember ripping off my headphones and saying out loud while I got up to get a joint “ OH FUCK YA”, thinking that was well executed and lots of fools fatalities coming right up! Did pretty terrible my only play through some definitely survived but I could have done much better considering what was on the line for these characters. Omg these games are so bad… I’ve played Man of Medan, the Quarry and Little Hope. It was so poor, uncomparable to the real work that has been put for Until Dawn which has a real structure, is far more authentic and gives a real signature with the ambiance they wanted to create. They’ve put the time to it, just simply looking at this opening credit which is great honestly… There’s also a proper and decent character development despite the fact that they’re all supposed to be superficial at first glance. They’re all well written, they seem to complete one another with an accurate feeling so you can identify to them which is REALLY important for horror. I mean you can feel the will they had to create a real piece and they’re is a real deepness to it. The other games cruelly lack of that you can tell they’ve been RUSHED. Okay maybe the Quarry has a better stand but the characters are so dumb and their development is not credible, doesn’t seem tangible at all.. I think it’s a real disappointment…
Fun fact: this song is written in Hannah’s perspective. The song starts talking about freezing cold hands, she’s freezing in the mines. The pause happens as she changes into a wendigo. After the pause she identifies herself as death, and says that nothing will satisfy her but your soul. This song is super deep.

It was a big success so they thought they’d make many titles to make more money… And of course this means less time for the writing, creation process and its trash.. best horror intro ever
I grew up in an area that cold and snowy for more than half the year, and this always reminds me of nights in the dead of winter. We lived near the woods and there were stories of something called The Creeper that would take little kids away in the night if they wandered without an adult. I know now it was to teach us to never go alone in the forest, but that used to scare the shit out of me when I was younger. 😂

When I bought my ps4 this game was on sale for $10 on the Playstation store. I'd never heard of it. When this opening hit I knew I had stumbled onto something great. The song with the scenes just blew my mind. Best opening I've ever seen for a horror game!

Everyone of his friends except Chris and Sam were jerks and did a really mean prank that ultimately got his sisters killed. Josh tried to prank them back. He never directly killed anyone. It was all either the Wendigos, or their own stupidity

Watched a let's play of this game and can't get the intro out of my head. I've heard the song before, but her voice is so beautiful it ads a whole new dynamic.

The song fits because she sings the perfect line for the story because Hannah and Beth fell and then after one year they came back after one year.

I was having really high expectations for Man of Medan. Until Dawn was such a beautiful game with an excellent athosphere and loveable CHARACTERS!!! Love them all. Yes, Emily, too. It made me feel so many things. And I come back every once and then to see the gameplays.
Now I'm hoping that Little Hope will be at least better than Man of Medan... 😔 But nothing like Until Dawn 2 is possible, I fear.
So how do you like Little hope that thing made me scared cry and happy all at the same time
Fingers crossed for The Devil in Me. House of Ashes was definitely a step up from Man of Medan and Little Hope but we haven’t seen anything on the level of until dawn yet

People think I’m nuts when I introduce this song to new friends. You have this ethereal voice making her desperate plea for just one more trip around the sun and you listen and have seldom heard such finite context sounding so good.
If her plea(no one prays to something as evil, natural, absolute and lonely as DEATH..righ..meh) goes unanswered and she is taken by death that year, it’s game over for her and you can hear the seriousness of the consequences death deals when death doesn’t spare you one more year or consider your age at your stage in time.
Powerful lyrics. I remember ripping off my headphones and saying out loud while I got up to get a joint “ OH FUCK YA”, thinking that was well executed and lots of fools fatalities coming right up! Did pretty terrible my only play through some definitely survived but I could have done much better considering what was on the line for these characters. Thankfully which ever supreme being who has me under control in our simulation hasn’t steered me too wrong.. that being said my dude isn’t too impressive if it is still playing The Simulation of Earth: 2022 and not AFK BRB NTRDY or OFFWrLD dude start making me some cash lots of cash so much cash I could give away a billion dollars a day to every single person on this planet till death doesn’t spare me another year but still be the one with the most zero’s behind my billions. Omg these games are so bad… I’ve played Man of Medan, the Quarry and Little Hope. It was so poor, uncomparable to the real work that has been put for Until Dawn which has a real structure, is far more authentic and gives a real signature with the ambiance they wanted to create.
They’ve put the time to it, just simply looking at this opening credit which is great honestly…
There’s also a proper and decent character development despite the fact that they’re all supposed to be superficial at first glance. They’re all well written, they seem to complete one another with an accurate feeling so you can identify to them which is REALLY important for horror. I mean you can feel the will they had to create a real piece and they’re is a real deepness to it. The other games cruelly lack of that you can tell they’ve been RUSHED.
Okay maybe the Quarry has a better stand but the characters are so dumb and their development is not credible, doesn’t seem tangible at all.. I think it’s a real disappointment…
Fun fact: The guy who played 'Flamethrower guy' (Larry Fessenden) also co-wrote the script.

Fun fact: this song is written in Hannah’s perspective. The song starts talking about freezing cold hands, she’s freezing in the mines. The pause happens as she changes into a wendigo. After the pause she identifies herself as death, and says that nothing will satisfy her but your soul. This song is super deep.
