@@RadRust I mean that’s true. But I think nowadays the cultures and languages has separated too far from each other. Norway, Sweden and denmark are now worthy of being their own countries
@@RadRust i have dreamt for the kalmar union to be reunited for a while now. I think a fitting union would be like how the uk does it. One country of several countries
I liked the fashion changes of kings from mid 1600's to late 1700. Then France started with the head-chopping, and no more of that over-the-top dressing.
@David Stelling Greenland was discovered by Norwegians in 980, and a core part of Norway from 1200 until The Treaty of Kiel in 1814, when the Danish forced to take the Faroe Islands, Iceland and Greenland when Norway left the union.
Good job, but as someone already noted: Värmland was not a part of Norway for that long. Yes, there were raids into the area and perhaps temporary control, but not for that long. On the other hand, Norway did control Bohuslän (coastal area west of Värmland) for a long time, which is missed in this video. But all in all: good job!
honestly no. 50% of norways history is vikings, then getting annexed by sweden denmark and then sweden again. Getting independence in 1814 and then just sitting there for the next 200 years. Norway has longer history than countries like USA tho, but countries like germany and poland also have longer. their histories are just so much better (not talking about 1939-1945 as nothing happened then) and the empires they've had and the huge empires they've created. Poland-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Holy Roman Empire

Battle of Stiklestad is portrayed as way more drastic than it really was

Thank you for the information
You forgot Bouvet, Peter I Island, and their claims in Antarctica for 2020.
I don't think the dependencies of Norway are important. Antarctican lands don't really count
Kiero Kiero he forgot Greenland too

Howcome Värmland was shown as part of Norway?
Hi, I tried my best outcome of this video and i didn't realise this, even when i work on each slide 15 minutes.
I am sorry for this mistake.
I'm always a bit sceptical about pushing the notions of borders and clear-cut political entities so far back in time, but still a great video.
